Former Miss USA Kristen Dalton Wolfe on “Building Holy-Wood” Podcast and Her Book “The Sparkle Effect”
Written by Christi Given | September 22, 2018
Recently, I had the honor of interviewing Kristen Dalton Wolfe, former Miss USA (2009) and the founder of She Is More, an online faith-based magazine (similar to Project Inspired) that reaches about 400,000 readers every month. She is the author of Rise Up, Princess: 60 Days to Revealing Your Royal Identity and Rise Up With God: The Guided Journal. Her next book is The Sparkle Effect: Step into the Radiance of Your True Identity.

ABOUT THE BOOK THE SPARKLE EFFECT:
Former Miss USA (2009), Kristen Dalton “….has struggled with cystic acne, depression, insecurity, and rejection, especially among other women. She thought if she won Miss USA, she would finally feel confident and validated. The months leading up [to] the pageant, she wasn’t on anyone’s radar as a ‘front-runner.’ No one predicted her to win. But she was on God’s radar.
“The night she won, the head judge came up to her and said, ‘Kristen, all the judges asked me how they would know who to choose.’ [I said] ‘You’ll see it in one girl. It’s the girl who sparkles in her eyes and smile.’ After Kristen won the crown, she told her, ‘And that girl was you…’”
Jesus can give us our own radiance and sparkle when we walk in our calling and purpose. What has God called YOU to do, PI Girls?
Even in the midst of her flaws or what she was insecure about or overcame, even in regard to acne, Dalton Wolfe actually embraced every area of who God made her to be, stepped out in faith, believed, operated in purity and walked into training to be Miss USA.
None of her victories came overnight, but she persevered in the midst of feeling the heat of competition and also was determined that she would win that crown. She now wants to share about the eternal crown that we have in Christ and the invisible crown we wear as daughters of the most high, and how we can sparkle and shine from within to the outside to others.
In the book The Sparkle Effect, Dalton has 31 chapters as a guide to stepping into the true radiant purpose God has for your life and gives tips on how she did it. She is an amazing role model and I loved interviewing her on my podcast.
“You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden.” —Jesus (Matthew 5:14)
