A wise man (hint: it was totally Shakespeare) once said: “A friend is one that knows you as you are, understands where you have been, accepts what you’ve become and still gently allows you to grow.”
Another person (I don’t know who exactly because I saw this quote on a T-shirt and liked it) once said: “Friendship isn’t a big thing. It’s a million things.”
Anyway, if you haven’t caught on, we’re all about celebrating friendship right now. And why not? It’s a beautiful thing.
Oh, and speaking of beautiful things, we found just a few that we thought we’d share with you. Of course, each pick is a special symbol of friendship, just in case you want to share with the person who keeps you sane in the worst of times, and a little bit insane (in the most wonderful way) during the best of them.
Funny how that works out, isn’t it?
1. Best friend bar necklace
This gold bar necklace is simple and delicate, which is funny, because it makes for a great token of a friendship that is as complex as it is strong. Is it okay to admit a temptation to buy this for oneself…?
2. Morse code friendship bracelet
We fully support a loud and proud approach to telling the world, “This is my person!” However, having your own secrets can be fun, too. Hence, the Morse code friendship bracelet. Okay, sure—chances are that folks are well aware of who your best friend is, but do they also know that either of your wrists say so? Not likely.
3. “It takes two” iPhone case set
You and your best friend are always on the phone with each other anyway, so it only makes sense that your phone cases would be a visual representation of that—right? Bonus points for being super adorable about it, and with this mostly symmetrical anchor set, we think we’ve got those points in the bag.
4. Friendship rings for ladies of faith
Faith and friendship. Friendship and faith. They go together like peanut butter and jelly, and now it appears they make for a fabulous pair of rings, too.
5. Hand-stamped spoon
You guys, this spoon…how could we not include it? If “joy” were a utensil, it would be this one.
6. BFF coffee mug
Wake up with some coffee (or tea!) and a heavy helping of gratitude with a mug that’s got something to say about friendship. Just be prepared for a wave of nostalgia and an urge to give your best friend a call…even if you know she’s probably still sleeping.
7. Friend tribute journal
They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but sometimes words have simply got it covered. For many of you, graduation is just around the corner. Do you have a way or a place for the words you want to say to your best friend? Maybe putting pen to this paper will help…
8. Lucky clover necklace
It’s possible that finding a true-forever friend is actually more like stumbling on a four-leaf clover in the desert…during a drought.
But for the sake of a darling necklace, we’ll play along.
9. Friendship wall art
Don’t sell your friendship short—you and your best friend probably deserve to be among “the greats.” Plus, putting it in writing pretty much makes it official either way. Right? Right.
And this print is about as official as it gets. It just happens to be college-dorm-wall worthy, too.
10. Best-friend-for-life candle
They say smell is the strongest sense that is tied to memories, and you and your best friend have some pretty incredible memories. In light of this (get it?), a best-friend-for-life candle just feels so right.
