Get Happy! 4 Easy Tips: Part One

Happiness is what we all strive for. If only we were more happy, then our life would be better. We all know this feeling, so here are four tips guaranteed to make you a happier person!

1. Your life has meaning! You were created for a purpose, and God had you in mind before you were born. Although you might not know what “your true calling” is yet- think of this: nothing would be the same if you weren’t here! Your experiences, the people you’ve met, the things you learned- everything is connected to eachother and would be completely different if you weren’t here.

2. Strive to stay open to ideas! One of the “secrets’ of happy people is they have an urge to learn as much as they can from everything around them. The world is constantly changing, and if you just stick to what you already know and what’s comfortable, you won’t grow as a person and be aware of new ideas and opportunities. This is just a little example of how I try to remember this rule: I enrolled in philosophy and it’s an incredibly challenging class, and I listen to as many artists as I can so I keep my mind open to different types of music.

3. Do what you say! I bet you can recall several people that claim they’ll do one thing, yet never follow through. Too often people do this, and it hurts their credibility and you can’t count on them. Don’t just say words, actually do them. You’ll gain respect, actually accomplish your goals, and feel good all-around about yourself.

4. Don’t let your “stuff” consume you! Often we worry about what kind of car we drive, if we’re wearing cute clothes, what kind of phone we have. Of course, caring about these things is natural and isn’t necessarily a problem, until you let it consume you. Think about this: If today were your last day on earth, would you care about your Ipod? If you had twitter followers? How much money you have? I know you’ve heard this before. But have you really thought about it? Tomorrow isn’t guaranteed, and it’s more fulfilling to focus on your relationships, and how you made the world a better place while you’re here. I remember this by helping my friends and family as much as I can, donating to causes that need help, and through this site- trying to inspire people to be their best selves.

I strongly believe this: relationships are important! Always. With God, family, friends, and just everyone we encounter, how we treat them and act makes the difference. Thank-you for the inspiration, God bless,

Have you read The Four Agreements? They are the key to happiness for me.

    Be Impeccable With Your Words
    Don’t Take Anything Personally
    Don’t Make Assumptions
    Always Do Your Best

From the cover of the book:

Be Impeccable With Your Word: Speak with integrity. Say only what you mean. Avoid using the word to speak against yourself or to gossip about others. Use the power of your word in the direction of truth and love.

Don’t Take Anything Personally: Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won’t be the victim of needless suffering.

Don’t Make Assumptions: Find the courage to ask questions and to express what you really want. Communicate with others as clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings, sadness, and drama. With just this one agreement, you can completely transform your life.

Always Do Your Best: Your best is going to change from moment to moment; it will be different when you are healthy as opposed to sick. Under any circumstance, simply do your best, and you will avoid self-judgment, self-abuse, and regret.

To me, happiness is when what I think, what I say and what I do are in harmony.
