    Girl to Girl Talk: “I’m Failing at Life and Everything Else…Help!”

    Every week, I go through the “Girl Talk” section of Project Inspired and look for those seeking advice and counsel. I want to help answer some questions you may have about living out your Christian life and walk of faith! We want PI to be a safe place where you can ask questions.

    This week, a PI Girl asked for advice and for prayer regarding her classes, and said that she feels like recently she has been not only messing up in school, but also in life. She’s feeling sad and pressured by her family.

    Sometimes in life we feel pressure on all sides and this can be tough, but remember you are NOT alone! We all go through seasons where we feel we are not enough or that nothing is going right. Feeling like a failure can be a result of emotions or circumstance, and also can be a lie if we remain in condemnation. We need to realize in life there are ups and downs. There is nothing perfect and we cannot expect to be perfect or have it all together all the time.

    I sought the Lord, and he answered me;
    he delivered me from all my fears.
    Those who look to him are radiant;
    their faces are never covered with shame.
    This poor man called, and the Lord heard him;

    he saved him out of all his troubles.
    The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him,

    and he delivers them. (Psalm 34:4-7)

    I want to encourage you that God hears the prayers of the broken and He hears the cries of the righteous. God knows every tear we cry and knows every thought. He knows our heart’s desires (Psalm 37:4) and He knows every hair on our head and He knit us together in our Mother’s womb (Psalm 139). God loves you so much and is there for you in the storm and in the joy.

    Remember, there is a time and season for everything. It is okay to laugh and to cry, to dance and to mourn…. There are different seasons for different reasons. Read the Bible verse on this very subject in Ecclesiastes 3.

    The best advice I can give you in this season is to read God’s Word for truth and strength in Him and be prayed up. We cannot go though life, especially in tough seasons, without the Holy Word, the Bible. God says the Word brings life (1 John 1) and faith comes by hearing the Word again and again (Romans 10:17).

    There is another verse that comes to mind regarding the pressures of life and even temptations in our journey. We may be attacked or some of you may experience peer “pressure,” but whatever pressure it is, with God on our side we will be victors! Read the verse below—it is so encouraging!

    We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven to despair. (2 Corinthians 4:8)

    Remember, PI Girls, the joy of the Lord is our strength! Don’t give away your joy to the enemy or to the trials of this life. Do you know JOY is a fruit of the Spirit? Joy is knowing God is in control and rejoicing in the Lord. Maybe our circumstances aren’t what we desire or we may not be where we want to be, but we have the Lord, the Holy Spirit and the Word, amen? God is so good to us. Of course we may not always be happy, but we can be joyful, amen?

    I love you, PI Girls! Comment below if you have any thoughts or prayer requests! Jesus loves you so much!
