This week, on the Girl Talk Forum, I wanted to mention that there is a new weekly prayer requests post we have for you girls to submit any needs online. This is a way for you to know that PI is a Community for believers to build one another up and to intercede for one another in the faith.
The topic this week is about someone who posted about prayer and also worry. It says in the Bible that we should thank God for our blessings and be content instead of worrying. God has not given us a spirit of fear and He tells us to be anxious for nothing. (Philippians 4) God tells us when we pray His supernatural peace guards our hearts and minds. God’s Word in the Bible, tells us to not worry about tomorrow for tomorrow has its own worries.
“So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.” (Matthew 6:34)
GOD SAYS DO NOT WORRY
Why should we pray instead of worry? For one, worrying doesn’t help our situation. Jesus reminds us that God clothes the fields with grass, he provides for the birds and also the animals. Why would God care more about the flowers, trees, ocean and the creatures beneath the people that he wants a relationship with? God loves you. He doesn’t want you to fret or panic about your future. God has you in the palm of His hands and He has a good plan for your life. (Jeremiah 29:11)
PRAYER BRINGS PEACE
Why pray? Some of you may be asking this question or may feel you already HAVE prayed. Prayer is communication with God, The Father. The Lord wants you to thank Him for what He ALREADY has done before He gives you the next blessing. God wants us to remember HIM and love HIM more than the gifts He gives to us. God is a jealous God and wants us to worship and commune with Him FIRST. Like a bride groom who loves his bride the Lord doesn’t want us to have idolatry in our hearts or to share our love with idols.
We must come to God with clean, pure hearts and be thankful. When we are grateful and we recollect on all the times that God has come through, we are in a state of worship. Worship brings joy and peace into our lives. The Bible says that “In his presence is the fullness of joy.” (Psalm 16:11)
When we worship, fear and worry cannot dwell in the presence of God. When we worship, demons flee and Satan trembles. When we worship the enemy has to go. We are created to worship the King of Kings Jesus Christ and when we do supernatural peace comes. When we remain in God, and abide in Him (stay in the spirit), then no one can effect our peace of mind. We must guard our hearts and minds because the world is a war zone but we can be fearless with God.
God wants you to release your worry, panic, anxiety, and fear to Him. Just give all of your burdens to Jesus. Christ carried the shame and sins of the world on the cross and “… it is finished.” Nothing can harm or touch us or separate us from God’s love or presence. We can choose to lean on our own minds and understanding, which is limited and we remain frustrated and anxious or we can surrender and give our plans to God.
Girls tend to be emotional and we tend to overthink about many different subjects in life. It’s normal to kind of think of the future and to plan and of course it’s human nature to have some sort of concern about big decisions, of course. What I am saying is that we must remain in communication with God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit so He can provide the guidance in his word and through his voice.
When we are in God’s presence all the lies flee and darkness has to leave. Christ is the light of light and in Him there’s no darkness. God is love, goodness and light and in Him there’s no evil so He wants you to trust that He is your heavenly Dad and he wants to bless you. When we seek Him and diligently commune with Him, He will reward and bless you. When we thank Him and are grateful, He wants to bless us again and again.
Just like any earthly Father, if a child is spoiled rotten or ungrateful, the Dad cannot bless that behavior. God wants us to be appreciative for his blessings and daily miracles so he can give us abundant overflow. If we complain, grumble and argue, then God doesn’t want to reward that just like your earthly Father would not do that. Turn around your frown and smile, be gracious and kind to the Lord for all that He has done.
God doesn’t owe us anything, and he gave us everything by dying for our sins but yet He constantly blesses us and gives generously (even when we don’t deserve it). God is a good Dad, and He wants his kids to succeed and to honor Him. God wants you to worship, thank, appreciate Him so he can keep exceeding your expectations and surprise you. Keep blessing God back and even when things don’t go your way, keep praising Him! As the praises go up, the blessings will come down!! DONT WORRY, let it go, and lay it all at the alter and at the foot of the cross.
