To enter, simply answer the following prompt in the comments below:

What’s your best tip for making the most of your summer break?

Nicole will choose the winner on Monday, June 17! Good luck and let the summer fun begin!

UPDATE: Congratulations to PI Girl heather600387 for winning the Summer Sun Basket! Nicole loved her comment about volunteering during the summer:

Up until last summer, I thought that summer was all about going to the beach, and hanging out with friends, etc. But last year, I gave up my summer, and temporarily moved to the inner city of Saint Louis to the Joyce Meyer Dream Center, where I spent every day working and serving those around me. It was hard work! I cried and sweat more than I ever had in my entire life! haha. But, for me, it was the best summer yet! So, my advice for a great summer? Get involved! Volunteer, and put God first and foremost. Sure, you may miss some “beach time,” but God will reward you more than you would imagine!

Thanks to all the PI Girls who entered and shared their great ideas! Didn’t win this time? Enter our NEW giveaway for your chance to win a $100 iTunes gift card here!

    1. What’s your best tip for making the most of your summer break? : Don’t plan out a ton of things, but have a list of things you would like to accomplish. Things such as activities with your siblings, foods you would like to make, or try. Or places you would like to check out. This way you’ll have plenty of time to relax, but plenty of things to do when you need some action.

Also you should always have a stack of magazines, or a list of books to read when you just want to lay down and relax.

Have a good summer, and don’t forget the home spa day! (Me and my sisters always have a day in the summer where we dress up in fluffy robes, have fluffy yummy foods, and have nice smelling candles, lotions, and scented water for soaking!)

    2. What’s your best tip for making the most of your summer break?

Hanging out with your family and and friends. Spend time with God and don’t forget who to thank at the end of each and every day for giving you your life! Like they say… Live, Laugh, and Love!

    3. What’s your best tip for making the most of your summer break?
Take time to relax and enjoy yourselves. Breathe and bask in the love of your Father in heaven. Study and pray and do the things which you enjoy.

    4. What’s your best tip for making the most of your summer break?
I say, stay active doing useful things. Like serving in church, cleaning, reading books. Have fun with friends, but most importantly, spend time with the Lord.

    5. What’s your best tip for making the most of your summer break? My best advice is to just let God do his thing. Take the extra time your given in the summer to have fun and relax, but also reflect on the life you’ve had the past year at school and see your strong points and weak points. See if your life was truly honoring God, and if not, take the time to pray and see what you can do to make stuff better. Everything is a process, so just focus on your positive progress. ….I also love having down time to hang out with my friends and be crazy, and I always ATTEMPT to get more in shape every summer. Maybe this year I’ll have enough heart to do so.(;

    6. Whether it’s outside in the sun, inside reading a book, huddling around a campfire, or dipping your feet in the ocean, spend this summer with the ones you love. This is the time to reconnect and grow in your relationships with others. Make this summer one to remember. Make it life changing.

    7. What’s your best tip for making the most of your summer break?

Making it a summer for God! With being in school, life becomes very hard and it hard to have such a strong faith, with all that occurs in a school year. When summer hits, the first thing people think of is FREEDOM! Because you are free to do what you want (party, hang with friends, etc.). But if you decide to, instead, make it a growing experience, your summer would be like no other summer. To learn more about God, yourself (to know who you really are), and grow in Him, is amazing, especially for a Christian girl. That will make an amazing summer. Life will completely change.

    8. What’s your best tip for making the most of your summer break?
Try new things! It’s always important to be trying new things and learning more about yourself, and what better time than summer break? Instead of spending all your free time online or doing the same old things, try something new! Start a new hobby, learn a new skill, and get to know some new people! You never know what God may have planned! 🙂

    9. What’s your best tip for making the most of your summer break?

My best tip for making the most of your summer break is to take chances. Don’t be afraid to try something new or do something different. The best way to enjoy your summer is to experience things you wouldn’t normally do. You never know what you might end up rembering the most in the future!

    10. What’s your best tip for making the most of your summer break?

My best tip for making the most of summer break is to have as much fun, and do as much, as possible. If you just lay around and do nothing, your summer will fly by, and in the end, it will feel wasted. Do as many fun things as you can, and try to accomplish as much as possible. By doing this, your summer will be memorable, and may even feel longer! Don’t forget church either, summer’s a great time to get closer to God without worrying about having to always be somewhere, you’ll have a lot more time to spend with Him.

      Enjoy your summer!

    11. The best tip for making the most of my summer break is definitely spending quality time in God’s word, hanging out with my friends and family, and also to stick to my exercise regimen. I also want to become more involved with my church through the VBS sessions going to be held weekly throughout the summer. Cannot wait to be out of school!

    12. Over summer break, you have more free time than you do during the school year, which leaves you either with more time for God, or more time to get into some trouble. My best summer tip would be to stay active in church and youthgroup if you can (if your church doesn’t have one in the summer, try out a friends), or even go on a retreat to a Christian summer camp. It helps to really focus in god during the summer and clarify and strengthen your relationship with Him to refresh yourself from the previous school year, and to prepare yourself for the next. 🙂

    13. My best tip for making the most of your summer is to have at least one thing you want to accomplish each day. I think about it the night before and write it down. I also talk to my parents about it if it involves getting a ride somewhere or if I want them to hold me accountable for doing that thing. That way, I don’t lay around all day. Having a set list of a couple things is really helpful for having a great break, especially when I plan it a night or two before — it has the spontaneous feeling that you never get when you’re in school and everything’s scheduled!

    14. My tip is to relax, take some time to be alone with God, go to the pool, and forget about the drama that comes with being at school. This is your summer! Call up your friends and just have fun 🙂

    15. My family and i have been going through the toughest situations right now, the best tip i can certainly give for a summer brake is to never give up! No matter how hard your summer can be, no matter how tough you situation is, always know that God is with you, he allows the toughest things to happen to his strongest soldiers, the devil will always attack those who believe in the Lord, he wants your heart, make your summer fun and lovely by allowing God to visit u everyday whether u r happy sad mad always know he is with u always, make summer memorable and dont let the little things get into the happiest summer you may have

    16. What’s your best tip for making the most of your summer break?

Make a list of fun activities to do with your friends, family or by yourself. Like a running list of books you want to read, things you can do to become closer to God, new craft ideas you want to try. Then, at the end of summer, review everything you’ve done and start planning for next year!

    17. My best tip is to honor God by doing what you like to do whether it be staying at home, going on vacations, or hanging out with friends. Personally, I love to swim, so I’m honoring God this summer, among other ways, by wearing modest swimming suits when I go to the pool or lake, I didn’t use to think wearing bikinis was wrong but recently I’ve been convicted by it and so I decided I needed to change that. 🙂 Summer is a time for fun so just enjoy yourself and don’t get yourself in any trouble. 🙂

    18. What’s your best tip for making the most of your summer break?
Get your family or friends together and make a list of places you’d like to go together. Beaches, museums, shopping destinations, etc. My favorite places for summer destinations are petting zoo’s or aquariums. Make sure to take lots of pictures too so you can look back on it later on. Summer fashion is great, so you can also make a stylish wardrobe for it by getting tips from magazines. Just make sure nothing is too revealing. For those lazy days you can listen to music or have a bunch of books on hand and just chill.

    19. My best tip for making the most of your summer break is you don’t have to go anywhere expensive on vacation, you can have fun in your hometown and hang out with your friends. I love to cook, swim, and make DIY projects. I also hang out a lot with my youth group and we have barbeques, pool parties, and bible studies.

    20. My best tips are to first make it a summer for God. Sometimes school can get in the way of us bettering our relationship with God, so summer is the perfect time for that. I also like to travel alot during the summer and to try new things. I have gone places every summer since I wad seven and I’ve loved it. Summer should be a time to try new things and to do have fun while still keeping your faith. You can always take the time in summer to read that book that you have always wanted to read,or to get that makeover you always wanted. Summer is a time to relax, but don’t forget to always thank God for getting you through each and everyday this summer.

    21. What’s your best tip for making the most of your summer break?
Don’t plan too many things for your summer. Use your summer to relax, read, be creative, and try something new and exciting. Take a few trips with family and friends and just have fun! 🙂

    22. What’s your best tip for making the most of your summer break?
Helping out in the community, even though it’s summer during the school year we don’t get a chance to help out so why not do it this summer. You could raise money for animal shelters or Public libraries. You can even volunteer for stuff. Or why not start a Summer Teen bible group at your church. There’s always time for God in your life. Arrange a color run for you and your friends down a few streets. ( But be sure to be safe) There’s alot you can do. And helping out is one way of showing how God loves and cares for his people.
He who is generous will be blessed, For he gives some of his food to the poor. Proverbs 22:9

    23. For me personally, the best way to spend summer break is do as much as possible! My summer break is definitely not complete without a missions trip! Especially if you do one the beginning of summer break….it keeps you humble and so thankful! It really helps me have an amazing summer. The more destitute the place, the more you feel like youve changed the world..and the more you realize how much more we should do! It can even push you to start a non profit or raise money for Africa! And then id say to make sure you stay active, workout lots, make time for friends (especially christian friends that you can trust an learn from), be a part of a bible study, and volunteer as much as possible. You can volunteer at a library, a animal shelter, a homeless shelter, you can volunteer to babysit at church or for your youth pastor….there are just tons of fun opportunities over the summer! Dont wear yourself too thin….definitely keep time to just relax and dont forget to keep Christ first!

    24. SWIMMING TIP: Before going swimming, take a quick jump in the shower and wet your hair down completely! Your hair holds water in and will retain the water that was originally there so you won’t have damage from the chlorinated water! Extra tip: I put conditioner in my hair as well and just go right on down and fellowship with my friends!

    25. What’s your best tip for making the most of your summer break?
HAVE FUN! you don’t have to go on vacation or the beach to have fun during summer though;) you could go on a bike ride, maybe go to a pool close by with some good friends.Or try something out that youve never done before. Like I just started to try and learn how to skateboard ^u^ maybe have a few friends over and have a water fight and a cook out…..it’s all about having fun while school is OUT!!:)

    26. My Best Tip: Take it all in. You only have one “summer of 2013”, so make the most of it! Basically do the things that you enjoy, and try things that you’ve never done before. At the end of the day, just remember all you did and….take it all in!

    27. What’s your best tip for making the most of your summer break?
For me, making the most of my summer break is to try new things, go out of your comfort zone. It’s about being different and making the most of each day. Personally, making the best of my summer is to go to church camp with my youth group and spending time with friends and family. (:

    28. What’s your best tip for making the most of your summer break?
Get very involved in church because you have so much freetime amd just find something that you really love to do wether it’s a sport or just a small hobby. Try and find out about clubs or organizations for school and try to get involoved in them. My favorite thing to do in the summer is staying active and that really is the best thing to do. My best tip is just to stay involved in something you love and stay active.

    29. Enjoy every moment you can cause the Lord has blessed us with such wonderful weather. Have fun with your friends and stay active at your youth group. Maybe even invite your non-Christian friends to youth group

    30. What’s your best tip for making the most of your summer break?

Have a plan and make a list of things you would like to accomplish! Have certain days in the week set aside for going out (so you don’t get cabin fever) and other days to stay home and get a little housework done! I have a system put together this summer where each month, I put all the money I earn into a jar and at the end of the month, I separate it into 50%, 40%, and 10%. I save the 50, spend the 40, and give the 10. Find some stores that carry reasonably priced clothes (I’m HOOKED on Marshall’s and T,J.Maxx right now) and treat yourself throughout the month with your 40%!

While it’s always nice to have a plan, don’t forget to have a day every once in a while just to relax. Don’t do ANYTHING. For some, this can be the absolute best way to relieve stress. Take a day and forget about the pressure the world throws on you. You deserve it! (:

I hope you girls have a fabulous summer! <3

    31. My tip for making the most of your summer break is…..have fun! but don’t get so caught up in enjoying your summer that you lose sight of what really matters. Make sure that in addition to enjoying going to the beach, camping out, or hanging out with family and friends you are spend time with God. Make sure you put God first in all of your summer activities, and you are bound to have made the most of your summer!

    32. What’s your best tip for making the most of your summer break?
Take the summer to accomplish things you don’t have time for during the school year.
Things such as an internship, volunteering, or extracurricular activities that you are interested in.

    33. What’s your best tip for making the most of your summer break?

My best tip to make the most of this year’s summer vacation is to just enjoy your time at home, watch childhood movies, grow closer to God by reading and studying His Word more often, go to Bible classes, or have fun with your friends occasionally. If you don’t have any big plans for traveling anywhere this summer, I suggest to try something new like learn a new language, try a new sport, or discover new talents you might have!

    34. What’s your best tip for making the most of your summer break?-having fun, spending time with your friends and family, and just hanging out with jesus and enjoying him! 🙂 oh! and lots and LOTS of shopping lol 😉

    35. What’s your best tip for making the most of your summer break?
1.To invested a lot of time in your relationship with God:) Oh my goodness you have Sooo much time this Summer for your relationship to be strong in the Lord Jesus:D
