“God Loves Ugly” Book Club Update!

Hi, Gorgeous Girls!

I hope you are enjoying November’s Book Club selection, God Loves Ugly (and Love Makes Beautiful) by Christa Black. It is such an encouraging book, isn’t it? I actually got to meet Christa last summer in Orlando and hear her tell part of her story, and she is truly an inspiration!

You know, I think it is really interesting and sad how Satan attacks our sense of self-worth when we are adolescents and teens. He tried to make us feel like we are worthless, like we don’t fit in, like we’re not good enough. And those are all lies!

He tried to make me feel like I wasn’t good enough because I grew up very poor and didn’t have all the things that other kids around me had. He tried to take away my value because I modeled and acted in an industry where people are constantly telling you that your body or your face are “not right for this job” or “not what the client is looking for.”

Christa grew up with many blessings, yet Satan still made her feel like she wasn’t good enough. This led her to try harder and harder to be perfect, which led to a terrible eating disorder she tried for years and years to get over.

How does Satan try to attack you? I hope you are learning from Project Inspired and from this book, God Loves Ugly, to hear ONLY the voice of God’s truth – that He made you just the way He wants you. That makes you more than good enough, sweet girls!

If you haven’t started reading God Loves Ugly yet, it’s not too late. You can order it here or here.

Happy reading, and Happy Thanksgiving!

I’m definitely going to check out this book! I didn’t get to for the November Book Club because of NaNoWriMo, but hopefully now I’ll have plenty of time!

I always feel like I’m not good enough because of my clothes. Unlike PRETTY MUCH EVERYONE, I only have like, three outfits. And that’s what I wear everyday. I’ve never had a lot of clothes that I could wear.
