Gospel Music’s 45th Annual Dove Award Nominees

This year for the 45th Annual Gospel Music Association Dove Awards, it has been announced that chart-topper and hip-hop artist Lecrae (reachrecords.com) is hosting alongside MercyMe’s lead singer, Bart Millard. Go to the official website for the air date and times, photos and the full nominations.

Some of the artists who were nominated for Song of the Year are For King & Country, “Fix My Eyes”; Matthew West, “Hello My Name Is”; Natalie Grant, “Hurricane”; Hillsong United, “Oceans (Where Feet May Fail)”; Matt Maher, “Lord I Need You,” penned by Matt Maher, Christy Nockels, Daniel Carson, Jesse Reeves, Kristian Stanfill; The Perrys, “I Can Trust Him”; Mandisa, “Overcomer”; Brian Free and Assurance, “Say Amen”; Karen Peck and New River, “Revival”; and Ernie Haase and Signature Sound, “That’s Why.”

Songwriters who were nominated in category 2 were Chris Tomlin, Jesse Reeves, Chris Stevens, Benjamin Glover and David Garcia.

The next category of nominations is Contemporary Christian Performance of the Year. For King & Country is nominated, as well as Natalie Grant, Matt Maher, Hillsong United and Mandisa.

For Southern Gospel Performance of the Year, Jason Crabb is nominated for “Love Is Stronger,” Karen Peck and New River for “Revival,” Brian Free and Assurance for “Say Amen,” Cathedrals Family Reunion for “Search Me O God” and Ernie Haase and Signature Sound for “That’s Why.”

In the Gospel Performance of the Year category, Hezekiah Walker, Erica Campbell (ft. Lecrae), Tamela Mann, Natalie Grant and Tye Tribett are all nominated.

In the sixth category, for Artist of the Year, Casting Crowns is nominated, as well as Hillsong United, Mandisa, Lecrae, Need to Breathe and Switchfoot!

For New Artist of the Year, 1 Girl Nation is nominated, as well as Andy Mineo from Reach Records, Ellie Holcomb, Hillsong Young & Free and Love & the Outcome.

For Rap/Hip-Hop Song of the Year, KB is nominated (ft. Andy Mineo) for “100,” as is Derek Minor alongside Dee 1-and Lecrae featured on his track called “Dear Mr. Christian.” Rapture Ruckus has been chosen for the song “Head Held High,” Andy Mineo for “Stop the Traffic” (ft. Co Campbell) and finally, Andy Mineo again for “You Can’t Stop Me.”

Other artists nominated for Rock Song of the Year are Red, Skillet, Veridia, We As Human and more. Contemporary Song of the Year artists Plumb, Family Force 5, Switchfoot, Need to Breathe and Colton Dixon are nominees. Pop/Contemporary Song of the Year nominations go to “Alive” by Young and Free, “And the People Said Amen” by Matt Maher, “Fix My Eyes” by For King & Country, “Hurricane” by Natalie Grant and finally, “Oceans (Where Feet May Fail)” by Hillsong United.

    For king and country! I went to a concert this summer at yec in Dallas, and they performed fix my eyes for te first time ever in front of an audience! It’s such a powerful song!
