Hi girls!
One of my favorite hairstyles is soft waves that look effortless and not too stiff! These waves were created with my hot tools curling iron.
Here’s how you can achieve a similar look:
- First, grab the top half of your hair and pull it up in a clip so only the bottom of your hair is free. This way you can curl all of your hair easily!
- Then, separate your hair into two parts, the left and the right.
- Start with whichever side you want, put on the heat resistant glove that it comes with your curling iron, and wrap a small section of your hair around the barrel.
- Hold it for about 7 seconds, and loosely let go!
- Do this to the rest of your hair for beachy waves! It takes about 25 minutes in total.
I hope you like it! Will you try this hairstyle? Which other styles would you like me to make tutorials for?
Beautiful! Thanks for this tutorial!
Nicole my hair can never hold a curl or wave do you have any tips or products that could help
I have the same problem as @sha566. Do you have any tips or hair products that might help?
Hardhead by Bed Head. A bit expensive, but it for sure helps. Spray before you curl. And a tiny bit after.
Very pretty! Can you give suggestions on what girls can do if they have naturally curly hair? Everything seems to look better with straight hair. :/
Nicole, you should show us how to do some awesome nail designs! How does that sound?
Wow nicole! That looks gorgeous! Thanks:) I have a bunch of different curling strategies but I was looking for something more wavy like this!
I think you should do a feature post on how bald can be beautiful too. I’m a bald teenager because of Alopecia and while it’s both a blessing AND a burden and I certainly never get offended or something with hair-related topics (that would be selfish of me…I’m such a minority and something so normal is absolutely and totally 100% fine), but it would be fantastic and really spirit-lifting to me to get a sort of shout out to the bald community and just to say that Bald is Beautiful!
so pretty! love this! 😀
where did you get that dress!??! when my hair grows out some i’ll definitely try this style!
I don’t use heat on my hair, but this is a great little tutorial! Thank you for sharing Nicole!! <3
Thats super cute!! My sweet sixteen is coming up so I might try it for the party 🙂
Nicole do you have really thick hair? Because I do so I am not sure how this would turn out.
you look pretty @nicole
could you make one for a cute bun?:)
I love it!!! Where did you buy your curling iron?
Hey Nicole what’s the best curling iron and best hairspray?
I have curly hair, and this is what it looks like naturally. 🙂 I used to straighten it all the time, but lately I’ve learned to embrace the curl. ^_^
I love it!
Love this! I may try the style for church tomorrow…. Thanks! 😀
I love waves in my hair!! They look cute! Thanks Nicole for the tip! 🙂
you’re welcome!
Can you do a video? I think i’d be cool to do an updo for medium length hair 🙂
I tried it, but I am not that good at it. Also, my hair is long and thick so curls go straight right away. But it looks pretty on you!
i get split ends really easily, so i like to curl my hair around a headband. i works pretty well, and i don’t have to use heat! here’s how: http://patchworkcactus.typepad.com/blog/2012/08/heat-free-curls-tutorial.html
Can you do a tutorial on how to create waves/curls without heat?
id like one for prom hair, please, since my prom is coming up next month. I want something I can do myself at home, rather than spend a lot of $ on having a salon do the same thing.
*i’d prefer one on making half-up half-down wavy curls look elegant
