PI readers, during the school year and the hustle and bustle of everyday life, it can be hard to just stop and be still with God. I was pondering all of the things I am thankful for in my life and was so overjoyed when I thought of my countless blessings.
One of the blessings in my life is salvation. WOW, how amazing is Jesus to come to the earth, die on the cross for our sins and identify with us?! He was the chosen lamb that was slain. That is so powerful! I can never stop thanking God for interceding on my behalf and for all the times He has forgiven me. I am humbled by His mercy.
Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs (Psalm 100:1-2).
Another blessing I am thankful for is my health. When you think about it, there are many people who cannot even get out of bed, walk, work, go to school, sing, dance, or do many of the things we sometimes take for granted. I want to begin to thank God EVERY morning for the blessings in life.
Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18).
I am also thankful for my family, home, car, jobs, my friends, church, Christian brothers and sisters, worship, my gifts, music, for the food God provides, for clothing, and of course, for all of the extras GOD graciously gives me. My heart overflows with thanksgiving. I am just in awe of how GREAT our God is.
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, his love endures forever (Psalm 118:1).
Listen to Nichole Nordeman’s “Holy.” It is so beautiful and the lyrics are so powerful.
And all you ever wanted…Only me on my knees, singing holy…all I have is gratitude to offer you (“Holy”).
Another great song I want to share is Leeland’s “I Wonder.”
My favorite line is, “And it feels like there’s not enough praise inside of me…with all these words, all my heart can sing is holy.”
Here is a song called “Hosanna” by Hillsong (a church in Australia). They have an amazing worship band and teams of musicians.
