Do You Want to Become All That God Expects of You to Be? Change Your Self-Talk!

Have you ever asked yourself things like, “How come that person is so confident?” Or “Why are they so happy every day?” It all starts with your continual thoughts and the type of self-talk you think about yourself! I’m here to tell you that you CAN achieve any type of goal, and even become happier than those who are non-believers! Why? Because with positive self-talk, you can tap into God’s power and His purpose for you! Listen to His promises for you in this powerful video. It brings tears to my eyes!

One of the reasons you are here in this world is to live and fulfill the goals expected of you. God gives every one of us special skills and abilities that are meant to be shared with others! Every single day it’s so important to wake up and thank Jesus for everything you have. I know it may be hard at first because often we compare ourselves with others and we sometimes feel disappointed.

Start your day with statements such as “I am blessed,” “I am healthy,” “ I am loving,” and “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” (Phil. 4:13) When I feel down and get discouraged with how things are going, I listen to this powerful song to help me remember how special and unique I am. You CAN achieve success and be able to accomplish anything if you start doing this! Another way you can remember to be positive is to create an inspirational bowl, or here’s my favorite — make a dream board! I love mine!

It’s so important to choose your words wisely — they will turn into your actions. You have the choice to either bless your life to enjoy additional prosperity for yourself, or you can stay negative and never achieve what God expects and wants for you. Another way to improve your self-image is to connect with your community! There is so much power in your words so try your best to make those in your community feel happy and filled with faith!

No one is perfect so don’t add additional stress to yourself by thinking, “But I’m a Christian, I’m not allowed to mess up.” God doesn’t expect you to be perfect! I can’t stress this enough — get your words moving in the right direction to help you do things you thought were impossible!

Use your God-given talent to create a loving world for yourself! One of my favorite quotes is by Anthony Robbins, a life motivation coach. He says, “What would you do if you couldn’t fail?” We all mess up, but your positivity will allow you to tap into God’s power to help you do anything! It’s amazing what He can do with us once we realize this.

Here is a message to help you go after your dreams! Have you ever wanted to start a Christian group at your school? Stand up for yourself against a bully? Learn how to play an instrument? Perfect a new language? You CAN do it.

Bottom line: Develop a good opinion of yourself, and you will be amazed at what miraculous things can happen for you! God will always be by your side and Jesus says, ”Enter into the joy of your master.” (Matthew 25:23) God is always working through you to fulfill your destiny! So go outside, look up at the pretty sky and say, “I WILL do it!”

Also, you can make a thankfulness list to help you remember! You are one of a kind, and you will be amazed at how many doors will open for you to achieve your goals if you use positive self-talk! But even more importantly, you’ll become aware that God is cheering you on the whole time!

      • He doesn’t expect you to be perfect, no one is! It’s only the point that you are trying. THAT gives God glory and makes him smile! and btw- I will ask Miriam to repost the article you wrote Far Above Rubies under your bio page. Sorry it’s not up there yet!

    1. Thank you, It brought back a lot of memories and made me think that i can get back to who i was and i wont go farer and farer away from God…. I will do things that are inportant to God cause he has a plan for every one big or small it still changes the world.. It brought back memories and words i forgot that i have been told, and the things i’ve learnd at church camp, and what my friends said to me there. I will Grow more into Christ, Cause be loves me so and i love him to and when you love some you want to please them…. So lets please the Lord, and Thank the Lord for what he does….

    2. Something that always helped me when I was going through a weird phase of hating the way my body looked was this:
“Why am I trying TO BE perfect for the WORLD when I’m ALREADY perfect for GOD?”

    3. what i really hate about myself, the only thing that i can’t find a solution for, is my stretch marks. on my hips, thighs, butt. i’m not even chubby or anything like that, and everyone always compliments my figure. but why oh why do curves have to come with flawss? what can i do about this? help!

      • I’m so sorry but I have bad news. As of right now, there are no cures for stretch marks- I want to get rid of mine too on my hips! But don’t worry in the future I know they’ll come up with something!

    4. WOW! you know this is EXACTLY what I needed right now!! I’ve been feeling really un-confident and lonely lately because it seems like my friends would rather talk to people other than me… I love the thankfulness list I’m going to do that right now!!

    5. This article was so helpful, especially for me right now! Sometimes I find myself thinking that being a good example for God means trying to make as few mistakes as possible. I know that’s not true at all, but it really feels like whenever I mess up, that’s what people are going to think about me as a Christian. I really want to keep my testimony pure, but it’s so hard for me to remember that it doesn’t mean I have to be perfect. Can I ask you to pray for me? This problem has been my ongoing struggle for the year, and at some points I feel like I may never overcome it.

    6. It’s hard to truly be confident on your own. I know, because I put on a brave face at work and when I volunteer.
I’m a very shy girl and I know God’s there to help, guide and comfort me. I remember one of my favorite verses, Matthew 19:26- “With God all things are possible”

    7. I’ve always been a perfectionist. I was once in a communion service, and I kept thinking of all the wrong things I was doing over and over again. I cried out to God, asking Him why he would forgive me of all of it. I felt so awful. A few seconds after that, I had a thought that I fully believe came from God. In my mind I heard “You’re who I want you to be right now.” I had to pause and think about that. God wants us to try and get closer to Him, but that doesn’t mean we will be sinless, and especially that we will be able to overcome all our sins right off the bat! Growing in the Lord is… Well, growth. That doesn’t mean I don’t still struggle with my perfectionism, but He’s given me something to combat it.

    8. I love the last line that says that you should use positive self-talk… but even more importatnly youll become aware that God is cheering you on the whole time! thanks nicole, project inspired always brightens my day! 🙂

    9. While this is all with very good (and in case, much needed) intent, I do have a question, however:
What about the verse that says, “Be perfect, therefore, as you Heavenly Father is perfect”?
