Media: New Faith Based Film ’90 Minutes in Heaven’
Written by Christi Given | September 26, 2015
There is a new film that was released on September 11, 2015, called 90 Minutes in Heaven, based on a book, 90 Minutes in Heaven: A True Story of Death and Life, by Don Piper. The film is based on Piper’s story of how he was driving home from a leadership conference and he got into a fatal car accident with a semi truck. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident and was gone for 90 minutes. Piper said that he died at 11:45 a.m. that day and was revived at 1:15 p.m. During the time of death, he said he saw a glimpse of what heaven is like.
According to The New York Times Best Seller description of the book, it says:
“Back on earth, a passing minister who had also been at the conference is led to pray for Don even though he knows the man is dead. Piper miraculously comes back to life and the bliss of heaven is replaced by a long and painful recovery. For years Piper kept his heavenly experience to himself. Finally, however, friends and family convinced him to share his remarkable story.”
The film is based on the best-selling book and is inspired by the story told by Piper, who is one of the writers of the film with director Michael Polish (screenplay). The leading characters are played by Hayden Christiansen (Star Wars), Kate Bosworth (Blue Crush, Remember the Titans), contemporary Christian singer Michael W. Smith (multiple Grammy and Dove Award winner) and E! News anchor Jason Kennedy.

PI Girls, don’t you think that there is a movement in Hollywood, or as I say, “Holywood,” and that there is a rise of God’s army and warriors who are shining God’s light through media, music, television and even Christian films?
