How to Conquer Timidity! By PI Girl Olivia

Timidity–we all have it hiding deep inside our souls somewhere! Occasionally, it tends to get the best of us. However, there are several actions you can take to prevent timidity from popping up in your life. Here are two of my suggestions:

1. Prayer. This is the best action you can take! Seriously! Simply ask God to remove the fear you are feeling and to replace it with confidence. Satan’s evil ways allow many individuals to believe timidity is normal! Don’t believe him! Ladies, you should believe the TRUTH that God gives us complete confidence in Him if you believe it! So…what are you waiting for?! Step out in Godly confidence and share it with others!

2. Take baby steps. Try to perform at least one bold action a day! Compliment a stranger on her beautiful dress. Sit by someone new on the bus and ask about their favorite musicians. Volunteer at a soup kitchen. Put yourself last in a long line, rather than impatiently stepping to the front. These are all humbling yet bold acts we can strive to take so we don’t allow timidity to be present.

Now remember to continue your bold actions in confidence and approach the world head first! With practice, you may never find yourself resorting to your longtime friend, timidity, again!

Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear; though war break out against me, even then I will be confident (Psalm 27:3).

So we say with confidence, ‘The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?’ (Hebrews 13:6).

For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love, and self-discipline (2 Timothy 1:7).

Thank you for those bible verses and advise! I am extremely shy and quiet and I often find that I hold back when I really should say or do something. I hope God gets me out of this hard shell I that I allow Him to.

I do wonder, though, if this is just the way He made me. I know I should not be as shy as I am, but is being somewhat shy ok?

Thank you very much for all of your sweet comments! It means so much to me! I never saw myself as being a good writer, but one night when I couldn’t sleep, I just grabbed a pen, and wrote this all down in a journal. I hope it may help many people! Certainly, it could’ve been better and longer, but this is what God placed on my heart. Little do you all know, I am one of the most timid persons ever, so hopefully I’ll listen to my one advice! 😛

Timidity only keeps us from doing the things God needs us to do! Trust me on that. I have the gift of singing, representing the lesson and teaching, and I used to be VERY timid. God got me out of my shell and I am no longer afraid as timid as I used to be! 🙂 Don’t get me wrong,I still get nervous, but I still go through with it. When I was VERY timid,I didin’t do it at all.
