4 Tips to Help You Find Inner Peace

Ladies, there are days when it feels like the world is collapsing in around us, right? Or when there’s an ache inside us that just won’t go away. How do we deal with that? How do we find inner peace that calms the mind and eases the anxiety?
“Never be in a hurry; do everything quietly and in a calm spirit. Do not lose your inner peace for anything whatsoever, even if your whole world seems upset.” —Saint Francis de Sales
When we lose our inner peace, it can knock us completely off balance. It can disturb every aspect of our lives. And it can darken our mood and instill within us an anxiety that often leads to sickness. So, if you’re desperately in need of inner peace, then check out the following ways you can attain it.
- Be thankful for your blessings. This is not an easy thing to do when you’re in the midst of internal turmoil. But if you desire fulfillment, you have to focus on the good. You have to focus on the things that are going well for you. And sometimes it may be just the roof over your head or the clothes on your back. There are millions out there who don’t even have those basic things.
- Don’t set yourself up to fail. Goals and successes are great, but they’re not the be-all and end-all of life. Really! And if your goals are set so high that they’re nearly impossible to achieve, then you’re setting yourself up to fail. Also, if you’re constantly looking to have more or be more or make more, then you’re never going to be satisfied.
- Forgiveness. Letting go of those who hurt us—and this means letting go of our hurts toward ourselves, too—takes a huge burden from our shoulders. This is so important if we want to live with more inner peace. We can’t attain peace when we’re angry, frustrated or bitter. Let it go and you will feel a much needed release!
- Pray for inner peace. Prayer is a fundamental element that will lead us closer to inner peace. The reality is that our discussions with the Lord, our meditations and our moments of prayer will ease the tension more than anything that we implement in our lives.
Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in all ways. The Lord be with all of you. (2 Thessalonians 3:16)
