I have a confession: I was hesitant to post this photo because I thought I didn’t look skinny enough. I was going to go right to Facetune to fix it up, but then I realized—you know what? If I tweak and edit my photos “to perfection,” that doesn’t help anyone. I grew up thin, but now as an adult, my body has changed.
When we only post perfect photos all the time, yes, it’s glamorous to look at, but it also can feed into insecurity in others.
So on July 4th, I made a resolution to keep it 100 percent real. No more Facetune or Photoshop for my body. I want to dedicate myself to really focus on exercise and nutrition—not to look perfect, but so I can be 100 percent confident and not feel like I can’t wear certain clothes.
So today is my day of my accountability. I will be posting exercise updates and things I am learning along the way. If you are feeling insecure or want to improve something in your life—every day is a new day! Let’s start tomorrow with each other.
