    Inner Beauty Spotlight: Miss Montana 2013 Defeats the Odds to Pursue Her Dreams

    When Alexis Wineman was a child, she struggled with making friends. She spent hours alone and would have outbursts of anger and frustration. It was only later that she and her family would discover she had autism. Where did that revelation lead her? To the Miss America pageant!

    Wineman is under our inner beauty spotlight this week because her inner beauty far exceeds her physical beauty.

      • …and the stigma of autistic people!!! (FYI:I’m autistic too, and there’s quite a few famous people on the spectrum out there, but I don’t believe they get enough attention by the media. Hopefully, I want to change that for GOOD!!!)

    1. I get kind of resentful whenever somebody mentions Miss America or Miss such-and-so state. I was offered to compete in the Miss North Carolina pageant, but my mom said no. I could have won so much money, and i’ll bet that it would have been cool just to be in that…
