Inspiring Event Alert! Save the Date for PASSION 2014 with Louie Giglio, Chris Tomlin and More!

Every week, I go through the “Girl Talk” section of Project Inspired and look for those seeking advice and council. I want to help answer some questions you may have about living out your Christian life and walk of faith! We want PI to be a safe place where you can ask questions.

This week I was reading the “Christian Life” Girl Talk postings, and a PI Girl posted that she needed some encouragement and prayer. Girl, you are not alone! We all go through difficult times and need to hear the truth from the Word of God. We all go through the storms of life, ups and downs and have moments of doubt.

That’s why I want to share with you something very uplifting, encouraging and exciting. It’s PASSION 2014, also known as the 268 Generation event. “268 Generation” stems from Isaiah 26:8:

For our college readers out there, I wanted to share this amazing event. Not only will Pastor Louie Giglio host it, but many songwriters and worship leaders will also be there. To name a few: Chris Tomlin, Christy Nockels, Matt Redman and David Crowder! Other impactful speakers such as Christine Caine (the A21 Campaign founder), pastor and author Francis Chan, John Piper and others will be speaking.

The events are aimed at 18-25 year olds and there are two events in different locations: January 17-18, 2014 in Atlanta, Georgia and February 14-15, 2014 in Houston, Texas.

You can find out more here. Last year, Lecrae performed and more than 60,000 people attended!

The 268 Generation/Passion 2014 website expresses what the event is about and the meaning behind it:

“In 2014, we will host gatherings in two cities – Atlanta and Houston, yet be united by one heartbeat. Jesus. We hope to see both places filled with a new wave of Jesus followers who are trading small dreams for a place in the story God is writing around the globe. More than a conference. More than an event. More than a feeling. Passion is you and me saying yes to the One whose name is above every name.”

The tickets sell out quickly, and prices increase as the year comes to a close, so I wanted to inform the Project Inspired community swiftly, in case you live in the area or are interested. If you are unable to travel or to purchase tickets, there is good news for you: You can still participate by going online and watching it live!

Check out a clip from this year’s event. It’s Chris Tomlin singing, “Awake My Soul” featuring Lecrae. This is my favorite song right now…you will love it!

PI Girls, what do you think? Would you watch or attend an event like this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!

I went to Passion this past year, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is of college age! It’s so incredible to get to worship together with 60,000 other Christians in such a huge stadium, and to get to hear amazing messages from such wonderful speakers! They usually do this thing called Community Groups where you divide up and get to know a group of about 9 other people, but I heard that unfortunately they’re not doing it next year. I sadly cannot attend Passion 2014, but seriously, if you’re in college, this is not something you’ll want to pass up!
