Joyce Meyer Says the Faith and Prayer of Her 2-Year-Old Great-Grandson Healed His Mom

Christian speaker, author, and preacher Joyce Meyer says that the faith of her 2-year-old grandson healed his mom when she was experiencing pain.

In a sermon shared to Youtube, Meyer sourced the audience to have a child-like faith, sharing that after her 2-year-old great-grandson prayed for his mother’s back pain it went away and she was healed.

“Stop trying to get hold of God with your head, it’s a heart thing,” the preacher urged in the video. “As soon as you get into reasoning, you’re going to get into trouble believing. You need to come like a little child and believe Him. Just believe.”

“You need to come like a little child, just like a little child and believe Him, just believe,” the New York Times bestselling author said.

Meyer then shared an encouraging story about the faith of her great-grandson, who can teach us all a lesson on prayer.

“My great-grandson who’s two, his mother’s back was hurting really bad. It was hurting so bad that she was laying on the bed crying,” Meyer shared. “He went up to her, Jeremiah, two years old, put his hand on her and said, ‘Jesus, Mommy, Ouchy, Amen’ – and her back quit hurting. Come to Him like a little child.”

Shortly after that, “her back quit hurting.”

Meyer encouraged listeners to head the advice of a child, to approach God with earnest and fervent prayer.

“Come to Him like a little child,” she commanded. “He’s a good shepherd, it doesn’t have to be fancy, it doesn’t have to be eloquent, it doesn’t have to be phonetically correct.”

In the short sermon clip, Meyer explained that all too frequently adults begin to doubt the power of God because of using their heads and not their hearts.

“Stop trying to get hold of God with your head. It’s a heart thing. You gotta see what’s in your heart. As soon as you get into reasoning, you’re gonna have trouble believing,” she said.

“Faith is something God gives you that you need to use and release in your life. It’s a powerful force but it’s not just an automatic, you put your trust in God, you put your faith in Him,” Meyer added.
