Me Without Makeup

Me and my bestfriend; Jessica, usually like to wear a ton of make up. I think mostly because we think it makes us more beautiful and attracts the guys more. I’m on the left, my name is Julie. We recently went to this camp (Tadmor) and they talked a lot about how beauty comes from the inside, and that before you start working on your beauty on the outside, first you need to work on your inward beauty. I think this is a really important message to spread to others, to show them that your inward beauty is far more important than your outward, and that you need to check your inward beauty before checking your outward. We recently decided that twice a week, whether it be a sunday or wednesday, we’re going to go with a natural beauty for the day. We also dress a lot more modest and the reason we know it’s working is because now we’re not attracting any guys who liked us for our looks and not for who we really were (inward beauty).
1 Peter 3:3-4 Do not let your adorning be external—the braiding
of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear— but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God’s sight is very precious.
Proverbs 31:30 Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman
who fears the Lord is to be praised.
