Justin Bieber: “God Is Good in the Midst of Darkness” at Manchester Benefit Concert
Written by Brittney Moses | June 5, 2017
Last weekend, Justin Bieber took to the stage with Ariana Grande during the One Love benefit concert honoring the victims of the recent bombing at Grande’s concert in May in Manchester, England. More than 55,000 were in attendance; $12 million and counting has been raised for the victims and their families.
One of the most moving moments of the evening took place as Bieber stood before the crowd, brought to tears, with nothing but his voice and guitar. Right before his performance, he shared:
“I’m not going to let go of hope. I’m not going to let go of love. I’m not going to let go of God. Put your hand up if you’re not going to let go. God is good in the midst of the darkness. God is good in the midst of the evil. God is in the midst, no matter what’s happening in the world, God is in the midst, and he loves you and he’s here for you. He loves you. To the families, we love you so much. Put both hands up to honor those people right now.”
We’ve shared a lot about Bieber and how he has been publicly sharing his journey with Christ. You can read more about that here.
We love seeing this side come out of Bieber more and more, especially in moments like these, when faith is needed most.
Emotions have been high all over the UK with regard to terrorism, including the recent attack in London. We truly hope that you will take a moment to pray with us for everyone who has been affected by these events.
