Kari Jobe, Justin Bieber and Other Things We’re Talking About This Week

Here’s a quick recap of a few things happening in the world this week.

President Obama legalizes millions of illegal immigrants. This week, the president signed an executive order allowing millions of illegal immigrants living in the U.S. to avoid deportation. The move has angered Republicans and some Democrats who question the president’s legal authority to create a law without approval of Congress, as well as the constitutionality of the action. Critics also pointed out many past occasions in which the president himself said he has no legal authority to make such an executive action on immigration. Many also wonder why the president didn’t pass a law in the first two years of his administration when the Democrats held both the House and the Senate. Read more about this story.

Kari Jobe ties the knot. Kari Jobe was married this past week to worship pastor and the love of her life, Cody Carnes. The two got engaged in August. In a Facebook posting, Jobe wrote, “I’ve decided that God loves weddings. His presence was stronger than I’ve ever felt in my whole life.” Ladies, let’s pray that God blesses this marriage abundantly. Kari is a true follower of Christ and an amazing inspiration!  Read more about this story.

Justin Bieber strives to become a better Christian. In an attempt to grow spiritually, Justin Bieber is taking a two-week break from all bad influences and spending time with his pastor, Carl Lentz of Hillsong. In a recent interview, Lentz said, “People are like, ‘Is he even a Christian?’ With Justin, I tell people grace and acceptance does not mean approval. I can accept you as a human being and not approve of your actions.” Ladies, let’s pray that Justin is truly opening his heart to Jesus and that he uses his amazing popularity to spread the Word far and wide. Read more about this story.

I hope justin is able to reconnect with his faith. It was really hard for me when I was in public school to stay connected to God but now that I’m homeschooled it’s easier. I’m still friends with everyone, but I’m not constantly near their influence.

So happy for Kari (: You can tell how truly happy she is with him. And I really hope Justin truly gets close to God. He has such a huge influence in this world and he could really help to spread the good news. I’ll definitely be praying for him.

A two week “break” from bad influences? If he wants to become a better Christian why not cut everything out? And don’t get me wrong it’s great for him to try.. But the way this is written is just weird..

I think they just mean that he is going to stay with his pastor for two weeks. He probably lives around a bunch of bad influences and is trying to get away from it for a while, but he can’t stay with his pastor forever. I get what you mean though. Best we can do is pray for him (:

Hearing about Justin Bieber was very surprising to me. I used to be a huge Belieber for couple years then I lost faith in him when I was 15 because of the rumors I’ve heard (drugs & alcohol) which became true later on. After hearing this, I started trying to figure some things out as a fan & as a follower of Christ. I should’ve had prayed for this guy few years ago. He’s a sweet guy and has been since I became a huge fan of him. I’m gonna start praying for him that God can give His grace & love on him. It’s great that he is making changes in his life to be a better Christian or at least a follower of Jesus Christ.

It would be incredible if Justin decided to completely give his life to God, and showcased it through his music and actions.
I’ve never been a huge fan of his only because I just wasn’t really interested in his music. However, he would gain my support if he did turn it around for the better 🙂

I don’t even want to talk about Obama or politics.

Congrats to Kari Jobe – that is so awesome

Wow, I would love to see Justin Bieber become a Christian and a good influence. I’m not a fan, but for all the girls who are, this would be great.
