Recently, Lauren Daigle appeared on “The Kelly Clarkson Show” where the two-time Grammy Award-winning singer shared about her faith and one of her songs, “Rescue.”
Clarkson asked Daigle to appear on the show just a few weeks after she shared a tribute of first responders set to the song.
Daigle, who has seen wide success in the last couple of years, said it “was not only an honor to hear Kelly interpret the song, but was also inspiring on several levels.”
“‘Rescue’ is probably one of the most personal songs on the record,” the singer shared with Clarkson.
“I remember writing it in mind of a loved one and the thing about it is, you write a song and it’s almost like the song writes you before you write it,” Daigle added. “Especially for times right now. That song couldn’t have been more real and more potent, for such a time as this.”
Daigle finished the conversation by sharing an exclusive performance of her song with the show. You can watch it below!
This performance came a few months after Daigle performed on the American Idol season finale.
“When I was 17, I tried out for ‘American Idol.’ I look back on that 10 years ago and I think, man, the journey has been so incredible. Like it really has. This show gave me something to believe in, it really did,” the artist said to the ‘American Idol’ finalists last season when she appeared as a celebrity guest mentor.
