Love Western Adventures? Watch “When Calls the Heart”!

Ladies, I’m really excited about this week’s movie feature! I was a huge fan of Michael Landon’s Little House on the Prairie series. When Calls the Heart is not only about pioneering life on a prairie, it also was directed by Michael Landon, Jr.

Elizabeth Thatcher is a young teacher at home among high society. But when she’s called to teach in a small prairie town in the Western Frontier, fear and doubt overcome her. She is strengthened, however, when she finds out that her aunt faced the same opportunity and took it.

This movie is about adventure and taking chances. But it’s also about love, strength and faith. When Calls the Heart is based on the novel by best-selling author Janette Oke.

    1. I am very disappointed in this movie… :/ The books were about Elizabeth(blonde hair), not about her niece. If you are going to make this about her niece, then make a different movie. I want to see the story of Elizabeth and Wynn. 🙁 Not to sound harsh, but I thought they might stick closer to the books than they have…

    2. I loved the movie, but I have to agree with lotr1997. If you are going to make a movie about Elizabeth’s niece make a different movie; I was looking forward to a movie about Elizabeth and Wynn, as I loved the books. I still enjoyed watching the movie and I can’t wait for the sequel! 🙂

    3. I loved the book series ( I read it twice) and the movie was great! There were a few things about the movie that I think they could have done better on. Like when Elizabeth moves to her new house by the school, the one in the movie look really nice with nice furniture and even curtains. That was not how it was in the book at all! She didn’t even have more than one chair in the book. But I did enjoy it and I can’t wait for the tv series, I mean it’s not everyday that there is a new show that’s just good without all of the violence. 🙂
