The global church Hillsong, from Sydney, Australia, is well known for their music. The worship band Hillsong Worship recently won a Grammy for their music at the 60th annual recording academy ceremony. The artists representing Hillsong Worship were Brooke Ligertwood (also known as Brooke Fraser), a Hillsong songwriter with Capitol CMG and a regular worship leader for the church, and Ben Fielding, a fellow songwriter and worship leader. They received the award together.
This is the first Grammy award the Hillsong Worship band has received, which is surprising given how popular the Australian worship music is. (The band Hillsong Young and Free (the youth worship band) was nominated for the 59th annual Grammy Awards, but did not win.) Hillsong Worship won for Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song for “What a Beautiful Name.”

The church also recently announced that they are releasing a new album, entitled There Is More. You can preorder the album right here.
From thechristianbeat.org, here is the meaning behind the 26th worship album release: “The title, There Is More, truly is a statement-of-belief more than a record title. As Brooke Ligertwood says, ‘There is more at stake than we dare realize—souls, communities, families, nations on the other side of our wrestle through the night seasons. Our personal freedom is for corporate revival. There is more of God and more to God and His love than we can possibly conceive of.’”
PI Girls, do you see the move of God in Hollywood with the church influencing culture, in what I call “Holy-wood”? Let’s keep praying for the entertainment industry and for the songwriters, artists and leaders!
