Emphasize your eye color with complementary shades. Blue eyes look pretty with gold tones, brown eyes look great with silver and purple, and green eyes really pop with purple as well.
How beautiful you are my darling. Oh, how beautiful! Your eyes are doves (Song of Solomon 1:15).
happy valentines day beautifuls! <3 who here is still going to write a love letter to GOD?:D
I did!
Thanks, that helps a lot! 🙂
Nicole, do you think if a person has blue eyes that a blue eyeshadow wouldn`t look so pretty?
In my experience, blue eyeshadow tends to wash out my baby blues unless it’s super pale.
Love it! I generally think of the complementary colors. I have blue eyes so I use things with orange undertones (coral, browns, golds) Green eyes should definitely wear purple (a mix of red and blue) Brown eyes are awesome because they can pull off brighter colors like purple, blue, or even yellow!
Cool! 🙂 But a person looks best in eyeshadow that goes with her coloring. For example, if you have warm coloring and light hair, you’d look best in colors like peach and light brown. If you have cool coloring and light hair, you’d look best in colors like lavendar, gray blue, gray, and gray green. If you have cool coloring and dark hair, you’d look best in slightly brighter cool colors. And if you have warm coloring and dark hair, you’d look best in colors like darker brown. 😀
what do you mean by warm and cool coloring?
Um, my right eye is blue, and my left is blue at the top and brown at the bottom, and all of the blue has a hazel ring around the pupil. What would I use?
Whoa! That is SO cool! 🙂 I think since your eyes are mostly blue (correct?), gold, brown and silver would look fabulous on you. At the same time, because your eyes are multicolored, you could possibly pull off all of them! (not at the same time, of course :P) I would experiment. Get some cheap eyeshadow, so you can get multiple colors without having to throw a whole lot of money out the window, and play around with the colors to find what you like. 🙂 If you’re not sure how to apply it, there are plenty of tutorials on YouTube and other websites. Good luck!

Here’s Nicole’s Everyday Makeup video tutorial in fact!
my eyes are blue, I find purple and blues are really good too!
My eyes are a greenish brown. I find an olive green is great! Brown too. I like to line my eyes with dark purple eyeshadow and the rest of my lid with a sparkly pinkish-tan (Like the color of blush) I know it sounds weird… But just try it!
Nicole,
Would you mind elaborating on this article/ topic? I recently have been trying to experiment a bit with eyeshadowe. I’ve watched some online tutorials…but honestly it seems like even when I use lighter colors, or gold tones it looks just too dark on my eyes and skin. I have eyes that changed color but typically are in the lighter blue, or gray tones/shades. My skin is also very pale. If you could help out or give tips, or anybody else on here that would be fantastic. I don’t want to be that girl who looks bad- or overdone in her makeup! <3 God Bless…
what about gold with brown eyes??
what about hazel eyes?
I think gold or green would look good with hazel eyes
I only wear eyeshadow on Christmas. Silver eyeshadow really makes my eyes pop.
I have green eyes, most of the time I use purple, green or gold on my eyes. All of these colors make my eyes pop.
Does anyone know how to know your eyeshape or whatever?
Anybody have any tips for prom makeup? My eyes are green, with hazel around the pupil, and a ring of dark blue (Or dark green, I can’t really tell) around the edges
