Who is Laura-Valentine?
Laura-Valentine Lock has a powerful story and testimony, and birthed her ministry in 2012 called “Laura-Valentine Ministries.” Her music, story and talent have given her a voice to speak out about the importance of adoption. Laura-Valentine (“LV”) started a nonprofit organization that has raised thousands of dollars to help forgotten children worldwide to be adopted into Christian homes. LV herself was born in China and was adopted as well. Her testimony is so powerful! She feels she has been given a new chance at life and wants to spread the love–how perfect that her parents gave her the name “Valentine”! Not only has LV started a ministry, but she is also a singer!
Where it all started
When Laura-Valentine was 16 years old, she hosted a “Sweet 16/Album Release party” and raised money for children from Uganda to be adopted. Since then, LV has been performing and speaking to raise money for abandoned children worldwide.
“Laura-Valentine Ministries” was initiated to help others, as LV was so thankful for her adoptive parents. She says, “It still amazes me that way back when I was abandoned, God had a plan for me to help Him save other abandoned kids.”
Laura uses music and the arts as a platform to help raise awareness, as well as to raise money for her organization. She is a talented singer who has a Christian Taylor Swift sound and message. Some of her songs are “Right About Now,” “Lighthouse,” “Just Another Girl” and more. Click here to go to her album’s iTunes page and download her music to support her ministry!
According to her official site, “To date, Laura-Valentine has raised tens of thousands of dollars, making possible adoptions for many children. You can participate in this valuable mission through the purchase of LV music and products, by going to her website, and even requesting Laura-Valentine perform or speak at your upcoming event.”
Wow, PI Girls, isn’t she inspiring? You see, through brokenness God shines His light through the heartache and pain and can resurrect ashes to beauty! I love how selfless Laura-Valentine is and how she chooses to not be a victim, but rather a VICTOR in her situation, and is helping others in need!

PI Girls, do you have a dream, vision, talent or testimony you want to turn into a ministry or a way to help others in our world? I encourage you to pray about it, write down your vision (Habakkuk 2) and go for it! Look at how many lives Laura has touched by stepping out of her comfort zone and by sharing her story!
…the Lord answered me, and said, “Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.” (Habakkuk 2:2)
