Me Without Makeup

Megan

I didn’t realize how beautiful girls could be without makeup. I always thought that makeup made people beautiful, or enhanced their beauty. Now I’ve seen about a hundred girls who are all beautiful and unique – without makeup. When I was twelve, I started wearing waterproof mascara, and I would leave it on, which caused my eyelashes to fall out. My eyelashes are small and sparse now, something I’m pretty self-conscious about. Also, about three months ago I donated a foot of my hair to Locks of Love, and I haven’t felt very pretty since. I’ve dealt with harmful issues in the past and I am still learning to love the way I look, one step at a time. I try not to wear too much makeup, so most of the time I’ll just wear mascara, but now I’m going to try a makeup fast and see how things go. To all of the girls who have posted their pictures before me, thank you. I feel like I have a lot more girls who feel the same way as I do, like I’ve gained a load of friends ^_^

“3 Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. 4 Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.”
– 1 Peter 3:3-4
