Modest Is Hottest: Chloe Grace Moretz Mixes it Up and We Give One Star a Makeover!

Hey sweet ladies, it’s that time again!

Often, modest fashion is confused with frumpy attire–but that’s so far from the truth. I hope these Modest Is Hottest posts give you some fantastic style ideas for modest attire that looks chic and fashionable!

Rose-Byrne

Rose Byrne

This pink dress is so elegant. The cowl neck adds dimension and movement to a classic design and the light flowing skirt is very feminine!

Chloe-Moretz

Chloe Grace Moretz

I love this cute baby blue fit-and-flow dress finished with a casual but chic leather jacket.

naomi-watts

Naomi Watts

The classic black dress is a must in all wardrobes and this one is adorable! I love the way the embroidered lace leaves an uneven edge at the shoulders and skirt. So unique!

ashanti-grammy

Ashanti

Ashanti! While your Grammy style has a lot of potential, from the adorable capped shoulders and fantastic flowing skirt to the beautiful print, it’s all lost in the peek-a-boo top and revealing sheer fabric. Ladies, what do you think? Is a makeover in order?

Poll

Do you think Ashanti's dress needs an Inspired Makeover, or is it just right?

I actually really like the last dress. She should have worn a slip under it, though.

I like the first, second, and third one I like the one with the flowing skirt I would just put a tank top or more material at the top and I would wear some type of shorts underneath or put some more material underneath.

The first dress is kinda low on the neckline, but otherwise ok. I LOVE the 2nd one, and the 3rd is just awkward. The last one though, really?? That’s just too much to even begin on. It would have a lot of a modest makeover.

I definitely like the first two! So cute/classy!!
The third (black) one is a bit odd to me and wouldn’t find myself wearing it…and wow…the last one? O.o
    nightmare.

The second dress is my favorite!! It looks like something I wold love to wear! The first one is really pretty, but I think it should either be longer or shorter, the length, in my opinion, is a little strange.

I agree, I think the pink dress would look really good to the floor or at her knees. This length just looks very odd for her, and the black shoes didn’t really help pull the outfit together. But I do like the second one, it’s kind of casual 🙂 I don’t know about you all, but I don’t usually get a chance to wear red carpet gowns that often. But they are pretty to look at 😀

The first three are pretty neat 🙂 I, (like everyone else,) LOVE the leather with the dress. The last one is revealing, yes, and even shocking to some. But I can she that she needs more than a makeover, thats not where the problem lies. Its her heart. She is obviously insecure with herself, thinking that all she has is her body. Not who she is, if that makes sense. Im sure Nichole would agree!! I like the material of the last dress though. Pretty! It would be gorgeous as a skirt (with a non-transparrent material underneath, of course.) 😀

We shouldn’t be judging Celebrities clothing, Jesus loves them all equal no matter what we dress like 😀

    • Danceforjesus23

      Posted by Danceforjesus23 on February 13, 2013 at 15:33

Of course Jesus loves them all equal! PI never said He didn’t. And yes, we aren’t supposed to judge people, but there is a difference between judging a person, or judging their actions. God himself will judge everyone by their actions and there is nothing wrong with using celebrities (as an example of someone people look up to) to show what’s modest and what is not. I personally love these Modest Is Hottest articles!

The first dress was not very modest. Imagine is she bends over! Sheesh!

I LOVELOVELOVE the dress with the leather jacket! Want.

And umm… do you have to choose SUCH immodest dresses for the “modest make over” section? Its kind of shocking…

    • AllisonGrace

Posted by AllisonGrace on February 12, 2013 at 15:42

      Shocking? It’s a human body… It’s immodest but I’ve seen WAY worse.

  23. AllisonGrace

Posted by AllisonGrace on February 12, 2013 at 10:44

The length of the first one is awkward… although it is a pretty color. I ADORE the second one. Leather jackets are my favorite 🙂 the third is pretty, although I probably would have used color a bit more. As for the immodest one, it’s a beautiful dress but it is immodest. For what it’s worth, at least she looks like a curvy healthy woman!

    • claremead1998

      Posted by claremead1998 on February 13, 2013 at 13:27

I agree with you on the length of the first one. It looks so odd! It should either be a few inches shorter, or full length. 🙂

All beautiful, but i feel the first and third look a little awkward on the wearers, they just seem uncomfortable. I am loving the leather jacket of the second, but it would not be my color choice. Not even going to get into the final dress because I love it and she looks gorgeous and if i could wear a sports bra under it, that would be my choice of dress to like dance in. It would be so amazing to dance with those flows. (ok, so i went into it, but wateves) 🙂

      Posted by SlinkyKitty88 on February 11, 2013 at 23:35

Me tooo! I love the last dress, but the cutout is just in an awkward place…I’m not objecting to the bared skin, it’s just…awkward looking. I’d be afraid of my boob popping out (HIGHLY unlikely, but I’d still be thinkin’ it). 😛
I like the leather jacket, but not the dress. Love the black lacy thing, because black lace is mah furvrit murturiel.
Hate that pink thing. The length is wrong for her shoes. O.o

I love 1-3 so pretty! 🙂 I love modest clothing. Today cleaveage is better but its so not! We’re all girls for Christ and we should stand complete in that. Its better to dress modest then like the world. 🙂

I wouldn’t wear Ashanti’s dress, but I like the dress itself. Its really pretty and I love the color black with sparkled. If she closed up the space just a teeny bit it would be nice. I don’t see too much wrong with the dress .____. I love Chloe’s dress!

Eurydice, I have left you alone for a while because you have a right to express your opinion (everyone does!). However, it’s getting to the point where you are being incredibly rude and disrespectful to the rest of us girls; just because we have different standards than you doesn’t mean we are all judgmental prudes. Again, I am not criticizing your beliefs at all, but if you don’t have anything nice to say, please don’t say it. Disagree respectfully. Thanks!

Posted by alwaysemilie on February 13, 2013 at 15:52

How is she being rude? All she said was that she thinks it’s wrong and we should stand up for what’s right. I don’t get how that’s rude…

I loved the concept of her dress! :-). The flowing skirt and the pattern were gorgeous, but the top needs to cover more, and the skirt needs to have another layer underneath so that it can be modest!

Eurydice I am praying for you. I hope with my whole heart that you will be able to understand where Nicole and all the rest of us PI girls are coming from… She is not trying to be judgemental. She is only trying to say how they could improve their outfits in order to show more respect for both themselves and their brothers in Christ.

Looking at it again though, I do love the material! Just not the actual design of the dress. All I saw at first was that it was immodest, but now giving it a second look, it’s not exactly ugly.

i have been homeschooled for 5 years and i have many friends from church and in my american heritage girl troop. homeschoolers being ‘weirdos and unsocial’ is a sterotype. if you are homeschooled and want friends then go make some! i always try to sit with the people at my church who have no one else to sit with them beacause they’re ‘unpopular’
