I’m not a huge fan of any of them but the third and second one. THe last one is a bit revealing, but the first one looked a little to childish and not elegant and lady-like like a grown woman deserves to wear.
Some of the fashion nowadays though that’s considered pretty… :-/ Whatever happened to a simple A-line or something? Honestly besides the fact that the black dress is revealing, it’s just plain… ick…

And we can’t say “your being judgmental” because everyone jugdes. Your judging others opinions because you don’t like it, or simply don’t believe its true. We All Jugde, not one is perfect. I like some of the dresses and yes Jamies dress needs some more coverinf at the top. Shame isn’t it that people think revealing more is good when in reality in it not.

I like that this site celebrates modesty. However, it irks me when it suggests that some people need to change to fit our perceptions of reality. If a person wants to dress like that they can. Plus, most of the dresses are really not that bad. They are actually usually the most beautiful dresses. I despise the idea that we give them a ‘makeovers’. It feels like a subtle insult to the person. Like: “We are better than them because we know we’re modest.” I’ve never left my opinion on one of these articles, but today was enough because that ‘immodest’ dress is gorgeous.

Why can’t she show off a little skin? I mean, what? What’s the worst that is going to happen? Someone will see the skin between her boobs? Oh no! No need to burn me for this comment because I know you will and I know what your comments will say.

I completely respect your opinion, as we all should do as sisters in Christ. And you may have a good point. But I feel that that isn’t exactly what Nicole is going for with these articles. I think she is just trying to show us good people to model our style after. But I won’t criticize you for your opinion, because we are all entitled to one. I am very disappointed in one thing on this article, and that is seeing the unkind words that have been aimed at sisters in Christ who simply have an honest opinion.

I know there are lots of people saying they don’t like the three modest dresses as much as previous “Modest is Hottest” posts, but I personally like all three a lot. I like floral patterns, embroidery, and embellishments, reflecting on my girly style, & I would love to own Ariel’s dress! Jaimie’s gown has a nice, flattering cut, but it looks like she’s missing some fabric on top! πŸ™‚

Okay people. This site is definitely NOT judgmental in any way possible. And it bothers me to think that some people have the audacity to think otherwise! Seriously, when you think about it, this website is gold through and through. How many websites do you see out there that can say “Modest is Hottest” and be proud of it? Not many! This website is a place for teens to come and band together so we know that we aren’t the only ones who have standards and like to respect out bodies with being modest. These articles are just encouraging us to be better and better everyday. They encourage us to find beauty in ourselves by not showing off our bodies. πŸ™‚

    • Project Inspired

Posted by on February 2, 2013 at 04:14

Also, I think it’s interesting that you say “the audacity to think otherwise.” So it’s bold and inappropriate for us to have our own opinion? jeez.

I meant absolutely no offense, and I should have known better than to state my mind rather…boldly. :/ Every single person on this earth is entitled to an opinion, and I realize that. I’m just sorry I came off the way I did. πŸ™‚

I know I was one of the people who said that. I’m not trying to argue with you, but just explain why I did. You are more than welcome to disagree with me.
To give a specific example, I don’t like how they have one person that they single out as being “immodest.” I don’t understand why that is necessary to get the message across. Why couldn’t they just show an example of a dress, rather than showing a person? I’m not saying I don’t like this site, I just think there are some things about it that are a little excessive and I also think some of the girls are very judgmental. But, obviously, I like the site enough to stay on it!

Ugh, I hate how you phrased the comment under Jamie’s dress.
    “Don’t you agree girls?”
It sounds like you’re saying “Give your opinion, but if you disagree, you’re wrong.”
I generally just hate this segment. It’s the epitome of the judgmental attitude that is becoming more and more obvious on this website.

    • jade12

Listen, if you don’t like what’s going on here then don’t comment or just don’t click on this article. My sister always says that if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say it at all. You don’t have to read this you know.

      • Project Inspired

It was constructive criticism and she changed the phrase. So, clearly it was taken into account. I like the first 3/4 of this article, just not the last part.

    • Project Inspired

Posted by SingforHim on January 29, 2013 at 11:49

Actually the post reads “DO you agree girls?” Just thought I should point that out. This site is anything but judgmental. We may not all hold the same views but we are all PI girls because we share a relationship and a faith in Jesus Christ. I don’t believe Nicole is trying to be judgmental through these posts. She is simply pointing out that modesty is a huge factor in being a Christ-follower and a PI girl and she wants to show that there are cute, modest dresses out there for teenage girls and how to avoid dressing in a way that would appear immodest. As Christians, our clothes should reflect our Savior.

      • Project Inspired

Posted by on January 31, 2013 at 14:46

I’m positive it said don’t before. If she changed it, that’s great! I really just didn’t like the phrasing. I personally don’t like these because I don’t see the point in calling out specific people for being immodest. Why can’t they just have good role models and then say what would be immodest? I just don’t understand why we have to make examples out of people.

    • AllisonGrace

Posted by AllisonGrace on January 29, 2013 at 08:26

I wouldn’t say the site is judgmental. Although that statement does seem to be! I think the problem is some of the users. There are so many judgmental and harsh words said. Although we all struggle with a judgmental attitude, I wouldn’t say this site epitomizes it!

Not gonna lie… I do not like any of these dresses. The third one was nice, but the flowers are a little too much. They all look a bit like curtain fabric. The three are modest and I commend them, but there were definitely some cuter options πŸ™‚

hold on, kyla, how can you say u find eurydice offensive for stating her opinion and then call her opinion petty, isn’t that offensive? It’s respectful to let everyone have an opinion because we have to right to the opinion and we are all unique, u feel like Eurydice is singling out to be against the traditional views, and maybe she is, but that is still her opinion and choice.

Eurydice, I was not attacking or harassing you. Your comments are personal attacks to me. Each time that you comment, it’s always disagreeing with something like you are looking to pick a fight or mock us and that’s what’s offensive. I didn’t mean to offend you but I think you’re negatively influencing girls on here and I don’t feel that with petty comments like that, that PI is the loving, RESPECTFUL environment that it’s supposed to be.
