Nicole's Passions

My fave new song!

I’m absolutely loving this new song  from Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull called “On the floor”, it’s my favorite type of song: upbeat, with a dance-like feel, and her voice sounds really pretty. I also love the chorus 🙂

Her new single!

when listening to it, it’s not a bad sounding song, but upon looking up the lyrics, the original version of this song has curse words. While I am not one to talk/judge (he who is without sin….) but I come on this site looking for things that keep me from being swayed away from God and filling myself with the bad things our culture feeds us, so I am very disappointed in Nicole, who always talks about not getting into that sort of stuff, for posting a song like this and encouraging others that this sorta thing is okay…
Sorry for the mini-rant, just explaining my thoughts/feelings.

I don’t think at all this is an appropriate song.

i don’t really think this is a song that God approves of though…

I LOVE Pitbull’s voice! He sounds so cool!

I see all the other comments about the song having a negative message, and I guess it sort of does, but I enjoy songs for the music. I like Katy Perry, and Avril Lavigne, and Jennifer Lopez. She kind of reminds me of Shakira, who I also listen to. I think the music you listen to doesn’t have to influence the choices you make. You might the artist’s choices, but you can still enjoy their music.

And a little Jessie J and P!nk. Like, two songs apiece. How could I forget them!?

I admit it’s really catchy but it’s not something I would listen to if I Jesus was standing next to me 🙂
It’s just too wordly talking about drinking and makin out.
That’s the problem now of days. Evem though a song looks harmless they camoflauge the message with the music…

I would! It’s not about the lyrics, I just like the music. If anyone asks, I’d admit to listening to it.

Gosh!!!! this is a horrible song she uses the word s*** and she talks about drinking a little more…… the song tune even sounds tempting to do whatever the song is suggesting!!! i mean the tune is ok… a little upbeat, but the words are CRUD……. i think that you should post a little bit more ….. maybe appropriate is the word im looking for….. anyway, GOd bless!!! 🙂

I like the beat and all, but This song does NOT have a good message. I wish you would post upbeat christian songs. Those say positive messages. It’s like you said about Lady Gaga.. What She wears, isn’t modest, Yet Jennifer wears terrible things as well. I’m suprised that you would Post this. The lyrics are not really much worse Than Gaga’s.

hey Maddie- you’re right! In the future I’m only posting positive music that glorifies God. Thank you for bringing my attention to it!

While the beat may sound nice, I find the words in this song really demeaning for girls. It is like the photo-editing you talk about, it appears good on the surface, but if you dig deeper it isn’t. It is unfortunate that the music of today appeals to the listener by sound, while the words are absolutely disgusting.

I believe that what you put into your mind is what you are going to get out, and by listening to music that condones “drinking a little more” and “backing it up,” the result is going to be thinking that doing stuff like this is fine. I know it appears to be “harmless music,” but it isn’t harmless when young girls listen to stuff like this and think it’s okay to sing about or be involved in provocative dancing, drinking, and smoking cocaine.

I just downloaded this song!! I was actually working out today on the elliptical and I put this song on. Its so great because its dancey&upbeat!

Oh, so “chunka coke” (rock cocaine) and vodka, backin it up like a tonka truck, watchin’ a chick get donkey Kong’d. You prefer that message to young girls? and the music video, in which a chick is cuffed to a wall between two men at :17. Thanks for watching out for my little sister, and other girls. I know you won’t post this, but I hope you see it, at least.

O_O No, the song is catchy…. It doesn’t mean she promotes that… she probably just didnt notice. Use your brain. God put it there for a reason 🙂
