Need Some Inspiration? You’ve Got to Watch Kevin Durant’s Powerful MVP Speech!

PI Girls, when NBA star Kevin Durant, of the Oklahoma City Thunders, received the MVP award last week, he gave an amazing acceptance speech. Even if you’re not a basketball fan, you should really take a moment to watch this video–it demonstrates such amazing gratitude that we all should strive to possess within us, as well as a determination and a strength to fight for what we want in life. Plus, not only did he thank God, but also he thanked his teammates and his mother!

Durant talks of the struggles he, his brother and his mother experienced. How he fell so many times during his career, but got back on his feet, while at the same time acknowledging their small blessings. There’s a moment in this clip where he shares a time in his past when his family moved into their first apartment, and with no furniture or anything to their name, they hugged each other and declared that they’d “made it.” Wow!

This is such a great speech and it reminds us of all the qualities and values that we as Christians should hold dear. Durant also explains that he wants to use his status as a platform to inspire others…and he certainly achieved that with this speech!

You have to watch this!

Ladies, did you find Durant’s speech inspiring? How?

This is beyond amazing! Not all who attain such title thank God and have this kind of humbleness in them. He expressed everything he wanted to express honestly. I love it how he appreciates all the blessings that came in his life, small or big. I love it how he called her mother the true MVP it made my heart melt. No wonder Kevin Durant is one of my little brothers’ favorite players.

So uplifting makes you snap out of your small “dilemmas” and start living by Gods decrees because he knows the plans he has for us is for our good!

This is so powerful! I always love it when celebrities thank God because He’s the only who brings them this far! 🙂 My God is awesome.
