Hi girls!
I am so incredibly happy to finally announce that Eric and I are expecting a baby–and it’s officially 3 months and 3 weeks old. We are so incredibly overjoyed! We wanted to wait to share the news once the baby reached this critical medical milestone. They say after the 3rd month of pregnancy the risk of having a miscarriage or a medical problem is significantly reduced! We have been picking out names, and on Feb. 20 (only 6 days away!) we find out if it’s a boy or a girl. 🙂
Now, I am always honest with you, and I don’t want to hide anything from you girls. That is why I am telling you something very personal: Because of certain medications I must take for my health, carrying a fetus would be dangerous for me and for the baby. Don’t worry girls, my medical issues are not life threatening.
My husband and I prayed over this, and decided that for safety of me and the baby, someone else would need to carry the fetus. We interviewed many women and found a wonderful and trustworthy gestational surrogate to carry our genetic baby.
This was such a big decision for us. And obviously it’s a big decision for me to be so frank and open with you girls. But I’m telling you because I love you so much.
Now I need your help: Please pray for the baby’s health! What do you predict we’ll have–a boy or a girl?
I am SO excited to read all your comments!
**hugs** Nicole

I think it might be easier to have a girl. Im so happy for you nicole! I just pray that everything goes ok and you get enough sleep at night!
Congrats Nicole!!!
Congratulations!! I pray everything goes well and that you & Eric raise it to be a shinning light for Jesus!
Maybe it will be able to help people through problems like you(Nicole) do! 🙂 I’m so happy for you guys!
Wait, I’m confused! It;s you’re baby but someone else is carrying it? How does that work?
Well, its kind of complicated and I don’t want to get too graphic, because I don’t know how old you are. But basically the surrogate is a woman who agrees to concieve (carry and have) the baby for Eric and Nicole. Genetically, the baby is Eric and Nicoles. But he/she is growing in another woman’s tummy instead of Nicole’s. Did that make any sense?? 🙂
Congrats Nicole!!! I’m so happy and prayers are coming your way!
Congrats! I know what a big decision that was because my cousin has a very bad disease that is genetic so she didn’t want to pass it to her child. She and her husband are in the process of interviewing women now. Praying for you both!
oh my gosh nicole that’s fantastic!! i’m so excited for you guys! wow, i can’t believe you are using a surrogate either, idk why it just surprised me… i guess i’ve just never known someone who did that, lol! I’m so happy for you guys CONGRATULATIONS!! 😀 squeee! that baby’s going to be so stinking cute!! 😀
Congratulations, Nicole! I feel you made the right decision, and I cannot wait to see pictures! <3
