New Podcast Launch “Building Holy-Wood in Media, Music & Technology”

I am so excited to announce that I’m launching my own podcast called “Building Holywood in Media, Music, and Technology.” Click here to listen.

    Soundcloud Podcast:

It all started when I was inspired to write a blog that I began in 2008 called “The Holywood Scoop.” Read more here about how God is moving in media.

Not only has God shown me there would be a spirit-filled revival in media, but also that in these days we are living in, knowledge will increase, just as the Bible says.

    Podcast Episode 1

In my first episode of “Building Holywood in Media, Music, and Technology,” I express the reasons why I launched the podcast, what to expect and my passion behind it. The message is basically that I desire to be a voice and I feel a mandate on my life to share about positive media, as well as challenge the listener to use their creative gifting for God’s glory.

The technological advancements that society has made in our generation are quite shocking. We have seen, in a span of just two decades, how we went from beepers or pagers to practically everyone owning a smartphone, or should I say mini computer, with access to anything at the click of a button.

My hope is that people will be inspired to download positive media and to support those artists shifting culture into what I see as a purity movement, where we restore the entertainment business and value of ethics. Back in the 1930s even up to the 1950s, entertainment was wholesome yet very impressive. We need to get back to our Judeo-Christian roots.

    Making Different Choices

I pray we stop purchasing and watching content that is vulgar, negative or just pushes the envelope. I pray we refrain from jumping on the bandwagon and instead stand up for what is right and holy. I challenge you to not watch the “popular” YouTube music videos, even if your friends tell you to watch because it’s “crazy” or “out there,” and you’re too curious to say no. Decide to watch a review video about it instead of clicking on the over-sexualized pop and rap videos. Let us be the generation to shift culture and make waves of new music, new media and entertainment.

Stop clicking on the bad videos and media online and they will stop making them. As consumers, we hold a lot of power. What we buy gets produced; this is microeconomics 101. As an individual, you have power and you can influence the overarching effects of macroeconomics in supply and demand. Please, PI readers, I urge you to stop clicking on the celebrities’ pages, stop following them on Instagram, stop buying the wicked music and start supporting positive artists like Lecrae, Britt Nicole, Beckah Shae and Carrie Underwood. There are other options and we can all make a difference, amen?

Please support my podcast and share with your friends on social media and via email. Know that you are chosen, valued and loved. God sees your heart, your hopes, dreams and desires. We can be the one to stand up, like Daniel in the lion’s den, like Martin Luther King Jr., like Rosa Parks, like Queen Esther (who saved God’s people) and more. YOU can be a leader. Stop letting the media dictate to you. You choose what you want produced.

    Stand Up for Truth

Make a difference and stop letting social media dictate how your confidence is. Stop following people who are self-absorbed and are shallow. Stop buying music with explicit lyrics or cursing. I challenge you to stop watching filthy films like Fifty Shades of Grey, Friends With Benefits and more. We need to take a stand and stop letting the media control what we see and hear. We dictate by what we buy, so let us only support the movies and media that encourage rebuilding families, marriages, treating people right, inspiring others and being overcome with a redemptive story.

I also want to mention that YOU have a voice, too! If you have an account on Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, Periscope or another social media platform, you can share scripture or share the good news! As I mentioned, they’re called “social media platforms,” and now everyone has a voice. You can choose to use your voice for life or death, for darkness or light, for selfishness or service, for love or hate. Let us choose joy in Christ and shine our light so that the world may know the Father in heaven, amen?

God bless you, PI Girls. I believe in YOU!

Comment below if you have ideas or if you agree that the media can brainwash people. Write a prayer for the leaders, Hollywood and media, and pray that more wholesome singers and actors can rise to the top so they can change Hollywood to Holywood.
