Poll: Do You Have a Job?

Many of you probably have part-time jobs or a way you volunteer in your community. Or maybe you haven’t done much yet, but are looking to dig in this summer when school isn’t taking up all of your time! We can’t wait to hear about how you’re spending your treasured free time and why you picked the gig you’ve got. Your first job is something you’ll never forget and may even help shape the kind of career you choose to go into.

Work is also a great place to meet different types of people than the ones you encounter in other circles of life. Along with the people you work with, you’ll probably interact with lots of people within your community and make a positive impact…both personally and economically!

    Team Project Inspired
We here at Project Inspired want to guide and inspire teen girls to be true to themselves and to God. We want to show young girls how to be people of value and confidence – how to be your own best selves – through leading a Christian life. Who are we? We're a team of girls, like you. We edit the site, we post to social media, we hang out in the chat rooms and forums. We talk with you, we listen to you, and we love you!

    1. I just turned 16 last month so I’ve been working for my grandma on Saturdays to pay for my cell phone but I’m starting to apply and trying to find a part time job now. I also volunteer at my church whenever youth council has something to do and I help teach 6-8th grade there 🙂

    2. I babysit as a minestry for a bible study group. It is my teacher’s bible study group and she sent out an email and I was first to respond. I babysit on the side for the same families. love love love it!!!

    3. I work at my dad’s office (he’s an orthodontist) for a half-day, and my goal each week is to do it twice a week. So far it’s been good, but now I’ve been faced with the challenge of balancing work with homeschool. Not easy!

    4. So last year, I got Red Cross Certified, so I am now a certified babysitter. I babysit almost every single weekend–its pretty awesome getting to know all of these kids and them getting to know me. I babysit for strangers and friends. And I get paid a pretty good amount. 😉

    5. I teach little kids how to swim at the local pool. I absolutely love my babies, and I’m often surprised how fond of me they are. I’m also in the running for oddest Swim Teacher in the area (short hair, swim-skirt, blue ink all over my arms for a lesson plan, long nails, a penchant for squirting my little kids, and a my weapon of choice, a squirt-turtle, tied to my swimsuit).

    6. I run my own “sitting service” and I babysit, house sit, and pet sit. This summer I want to be a computer freelancer and maybe have a blog and earn some money from ads. I tried working at Sonic for a day but that didn’t work out haha. I want to be an entrepreneur and I’m not a big fan of working for other people.

    7. I work at McDonalds and honestly, it’s the worst job I’ve ever had. Some days I just cry all day because I don’t want to go to work. But God’s using it for something good, I know. I’m just trying to keep faithful in the day-to-day. I know it’ll get better.

    8. I have been a Swimming instructor this is coming up my seventh year. i am now basically trained in all areas in teaching swimming and i also volunteer at church as a kids sunday programme teacher for 1-4 yr olds, it is in the morning services whilst their parents are able to go and sit in church and listen to the pastor talk.
