Poll: Where in the World Is Your Dream Vacation?

It’s fun to dream about faraway destinations that we have yet to travel to. For most of us, much of the world has been left out of our actual travel plans, but that doesn’t mean we wouldn’t enjoy a little R&R in Paris if given the chance! One of the great things about travel (besides the fact that it opens our minds, hearts and teaches us so much about ourselves and the world around us) is that there are so many options and something for everyone, no matter your tastes or travel style.

There isn’t a right or wrong way to travel–it just depends on what you’re up for and interested in. In a perfect world, we’d get to experience a little of each within our lifetime!

With all of this in mind, we’d love to gain a little insight into what speaks to YOU travel-wise. So take the polls below and then tell us more in the comments. What are your top five dream destinations and who would you want to take with you?

Would you rather travel somewhere within the US, or head abroad?

    1. Can’t wait for my next vacation! 🙂 I’m a writer and the state I’m going to is where one of my books takes place. Also awesome places to go and getting to hang out with people I see once or twice a year 🙂 oh and an extra week off of school! And my first plane trip. So yeah, I’m excited!

    2. I’m a fan of stay-cations, camping, and spontaneous trips. One day, my boyfriend checked facebook and saw that his old roommate’s 21st birthday was that weekend. He started to say, “It’s too bad we can’t be there…” And then he realized, “Why not?!” Within forty-five minutes, we’d arranged for a place to stay, had gotten all packed, and were on our way to the train station for a long weekend. Too much planning for vacations makes me stress out a lot; I obsess and make lists and pour over itinerary…Though, I would LOVE to go back to Europe someday.

    3. I have a dream to go to Scotland, that would be amazing….but it probably won’t happen anytime soon. The only time my family goes anywhere is when we travel two states to go visit my dad, but it feels like a vacation:):):)

    4. I love taking trips where we go to Colorado (or just through it) and see the Rockies. Yellowstone is gorgeous as well! Mountains are beautiful, and I love to hike! I had at one point decided I was moving to Colorado so I could take a hike over weekends, but really doubt that’s gonna happen. lol But I do hope my family visits the Rockies again sometime before I leave the house for good. If not, that’s where I want to take my kiddos one day.

If I *could* go to Europe, I’d want to go to Scotland or Italy. But, being the type of person I am, I don’t hang on to dreams of traveling Europe. I really would rather just stay here in the states, and be able to provide for my kids, and be an amazing mum to them. 😀

    5. My top vacation spots would be New Zealand, Ireland, Germany, England(though to a small city, not a big one like London), or The Netherlands. And while it’s unlikely that I’ll ever get to go to those places, they’d be my first choices!

    6. Now, when I say a ‘tropical’ place it’s mostly to see the flora and fauna. Like the Galapagos. I would love to see the wide variety of creatures they have like penguins and iguanas. Cause they’re cool. But England would be cool to! The British library… My gosh I would love that!

    7. I would one day LOVE to one day go to Europe or something for a vacation. Like go to Germany or Sweden where my ancestors lived. Or then of course if I could I would go to a place in the US to Yellowstone, South Padre Island, Colorado, or go to a place where I could see fireflies like I’ve always dreamed to <3. Also I'd go back to California to see the beaches and go to In'n Out Burger but I've been to both San Diego and LA and they were WAAAAY too big for me! Maybe if they had about 1/3 the population that they do now I would go back, but its waaayyyyy too big for me!

    8. A dream vacation… it honestly depends on who I’m with. If I were with my online writing family, we’d go to Disney World. If I was with my little group of friends at home, we’d go to Pigeon Forge or New Orleans(we have plans to do one of these for our senior trip!). With my sisters, I’d love to go to New York or London. But I’d go with almost anybody to London. Preferably someone who’d be as squealish as I would be about it.
Most of my vacationing, though, will probably be grabbing a friend, packing a bag, and going to stay in some random small town for the weekend. You’d be amazed at what random small towns have to offer. They’re so enchanting!

    9. I went to Spain this summer, and ever since then I’ve caught the travel bug! Now I want to go and see the world! The place I want to go next is England because I had a layover in London but couldn’t leave the airport, and it haunts me that I was physically there but didn’t see anything! I’d also love to go to Australia, Africa, and South America if I had the chance.

    10. I’m pretty sure this is wayyyy overdone but my dream vacation is Paris or Italy. I don’t care too much for tropical vacations because my grandparents live in Florida so we go there every year.
But I will most likely spend the rest of my life in a foreign country when I become a missionary so Im super excited about that!

    11. I’ve always wanted to go to Mexico. I have a slight infatuation with Spanish… I’m so excited, because I’m going on a cruise in January to Cozumel, Belize, Honduras, etc. I’ve never been out of Canada/US.

    12. I want to go to Europe so bad! England, France, Belgium, Germany, Ireland, Italy, The Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland, Greece, Wales, Sweden, Scotland, Ukraine… I’d also love to go to Australia, Canada, and Israel one day. 🙂
