Pro-Life Advocate Abby Johnson Undergoes Public 4D Ultrasound in Times Square
Written by Rebekah Hargraves | May 6, 2019
Abby Johnson, whose experience of going from being the director of a Planned Parenthood facility to becoming a pro-life advocate is portrayed in the 2019 film, Unplanned, attended the “Alive from New York” pro-life rally in Times Square over the weekend. While there, she underwent a 4D ultrasound and had the sound of her unborn baby’s heartbeat amplified for passersby to hear.
“This is a baby. This right here is a baby,” Johnson said, pointing to her belly. Abby later gave a speech after the ultrasound and proclaimed that “life is winning. We will see a day when abortion in this country is unthinkable.”
The “Alive from New York” pro-life rally comes on the heels of New York Governor Andrew Cuomo’s signing of an abortion bill back in February that made legal abortions at any gestational age, including right up to 40 weeks and the time of natural birth.
The rally was not left unanswered by folks from Planned Parenthood, however. Planned Parenthood of New York City put up its own Times Square billboard in response, which read “Planned Parenthood is Health Care”.
It remains to be seen what the full impact of the “Alive from New York” pro-life rally will be on the state of New York and its currently abortion laws, but the hope is certainly there that for public onlookers to see and hear the 4D ultrasound heartbeat of an unborn baby will change the current of public opinion in the state of New York regarding abortion, life, and “reproductive health”.

As you read about this news report from over the weekend, you may be left wondering what this rally has to do with you and what you could possibly do to have a part to play in the fight for life.
First, I want you to know that it has everything to do with you, because not only do you represent the next generation of women in this country, but you are also Planned Parenthood’s prime target and sought-after demographic. If you can educate yourself as to the nature of life and when it begins, you will be far better able to see through the “reproductive health” claims made by Planned Parenthood and join the fight to protect all life, not the least of which being the life of the unborn.
Second, there are actually several things you can do. The most important thing, of course, is to pray. Pray for eyes to be opened to the reality of what abortion is and the ways in which it not only harms the baby, but the mother, as well. Consider donating financially or with volunteer hours to crisis pregnancy centers and other pro-life organizations. Speak out about how God loves and values all life, whether born or unborn. And come alongside any friends you may have who are currently making the decision between abortion and life. Be there for them, love them, help them, and pray for them. You can make a big difference right where you are!
