Project Cheer was birthed out of a couple’s pain and loss of their daughter. The couple, who happen to be teachers, lost their five-year-old daughter, Ylaria, to cancer.
According to Family Circle magazine, this inspiring family started a charity where they help children in local hospitals by providing toys and games for the suffering children.
“Project Cheer brings joy to local children battling cancer and their siblings by providing a toy or an activity while they visit these centers. We wanted to make sure that children suffering the unimaginable and their siblings got a little dose of cheering while they waited, just like Ylaria and her sisters used to. Ylaria’s sisters were her best medicine, and she never wanted to do an activity unless her sisters were having fun, too. This is why it’s so important for us to include all the family members in this effort.”

Through our pain and suffering, we can help others. There is no message without a mess and there is no testimony without a test first. Most of us have been through the fire of suffering (some worse than others), but it is what we do with the suffering that matters. I say turn your pain into purpose and your heartbreak into healing for many. I pray for you Project Inspired girls to be motivated to help others and to be selfless, to look to see how you can minister to those who are less fortunate than you are.
Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. (Galatians 6:2)
And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased. (Hebrews 13:16)
