Quiz: Who Said It? Match Jefferson Bethke and Four Other Celebs to This Week’s Inspirational Quotes!
Written by T.M. Gaouette | April 24, 2013
Ladies, I believe that God and His Word should be a part of everyday conversation. We should mention Him regularly and naturally, and not just to evangelize, but rather as an acknowledgment and recognition that He is a part of our everyday lives and that everything we say and do is for Him.
I love it when people reference God naturally! Following are this week’s quotes about our Lord…can you guess who said them? Good luck!
A. If we all, as a mass, believed in God and one another we would truly evolve into something much more peaceful…and beautiful…
B. He accepted me right then at my very worst – the good, the bad, and the ugly. He loved me in the midst of my addictions, and He loved me despite my rebellion. He loved me even though I was cruel and bitter, and He loved me even though I lied and stole.
C. I wouldn’t say my viewpoint is ‘soured’ on churches, but rather hypocrisy, legalism, and self-righteousness. When I see people upholding rules or regulations more than Jesus and Him crucified, then it bothers me, because self-righteousness is essentially saying, ‘we don’t need your sacrifice, Jesus, we can do it on our own.’
D. …when people put on Christ when they go outside, that is all nonbelievers see. And we’re going to have people reject it, but there are others who make a living at being Christian. This is serious because they know the Body of Christ. They know what that is. And for them, it’s even more serious.
E. If God has given you a dream and a calling, do whatever is in your hand to do right now. I like to say, ‘bloom where you’re planted.’ Until God calls you somewhere else, wherever you are right now, you can always practice your craft, you can always get better. So work hard on that, and let Him open the doors when He will.
