Recently, on December 2, 2017, I had the honor and privilege of interviewing Mary and Keith Hudson, the parents of Katherine Hudson—aka Katy Perry. We discussed the testimony of how Mary came to know Jesus, her personal experience in radio and how being a joyful parent, regardless of circumstances, leads to a happy home. Mary, also the founder of Arise Conferences, wrote a book about her experience raising children: her three kids—Katy, Angela and David.
Mary expressed the significance of being joyful in hope and being the leader as an example to those around you, despite circumstances. Her book isn’t just going to minister to parents, but really is encouraging about trials or tests in life. Mary is also the author of Smart Bombs: Tearing Down Strongholds With the Explosive Word of God.
Keith, Katy’s father, shared about God’s unconditional love and that we cannot lead people to Christ by being overly preachy or judgmental. We must love people first, and the love of God will draw people to repentance. Keith wrote a book called Looking and Seeing: See Them With Your Heart, Not With Your Eyes.
What powerful parents and what an amazing ministry that the Hudsons have! I am blessed to share the program on Reaching Out Radio (Where God Comes First) on KKLA 99.5 FM in Los Angeles at 11:30 p.m. (PT), and now airing on K-PRAISE in San Diego on 1210 AM at 3 p.m. (PT).

PI Girls, over the airwaves I had the honor and privilege to pray for Katy Perry and to also bless up-and-coming artists in Hollywood. God wants us to use our gifts for His glory, and we can do big things if we surrender to His perfect will for our lives, which is the best ultimately for us (Isaiah 55, Jeremiah 29:11, Psalm 139). Can you partner with me, ambassador Elisa and Project Inspired to pray for the leaders in our country, those in positions of influence in media, and also for the church to repent and come to Christ in unity? Let us all help one another in truth and love, amen?
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. (Galatians 6:9)
Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. (James 5:16)
Let us not grow weary in well doing and in praying for our desires, because Jesus is faithful. Let us pray for those who are feeling maybe a little bit distant from God, and I want to encourage you, God hears you cry. God is allowing circumstances to make you stronger and to show you His miracle-working power. Do not give up. God is so beyond faithful. I am praying for you girls.
In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. (Matthew 5:16)
PI Girls, if you need advice or have additional requests or prayers, message Christi Given on facebook.com/christigiven, and may God bless you!
