March for Life

Today is the annual March for Life. This year marks the 44th anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision. The March for Life began in Washington, D.C., as a small demonstration and rapidly grew to be the largest pro-life event in the world. The mission is to “provide all Americans with a place to testify to the beauty of life and the dignity of each human person,” according to the website.

“All babies deserve their God-given right to survive. Their life is made in the likeness of God, He created their tiny limbs and fluttering heartbeat, and it is horrific the way Planned Parenthood churns out the abortions like clockwork. We need to pray for these precious unborn souls who possibly won’t have the chance to live,” stated Project Inspired founder, Nicole Weider.

Speakers at this year’s event include Vice President Mike Pence, President Trump key advisor Kellyanne Conway, Cardinal Timothy Dolan and NFL star Benjamin Watson. “Each of our speakers exemplifies this year’s theme, ‘the power of one,’ in a beautiful way,” said Jeanne Mancini, president of March for Life. “Their words are sure to motivate the marchers, as well as the millions of pro-life Americans who will be watching, who dedicate themselves to restoring a culture of life in the United States.”

Several students from my college, Geneva, including lots of friends and two of my roommates, loaded up a bus and went. I heard it was a great turn-out, and was saddened that homework/school things prevented me from going. Next year for sure, though– we just started up a Pro-Life Club, and are planning on making this a yearly thing! 🙂 😀
