Emily gets to the heart of matters with her photo caption: “I used to be made fun of, and I took the words to heart. But thanks to God, I have found confidence and peace knowing that when I’m being myself, I’m at my best.”
Gabrielle shares her inspiring thoughts: “Most people know me, or at least think of me, as the girl that’s always happy, or the girl that’s awful…I sought glory for years, whether through beauty or popularity. I thought I knew it all, but I didn’t. I didn’t know that Jesus died for me. I didn’t know He looked far beyond my selfishness, anger and hate, and saw my need for a Saviour. I didn’t know that He gave it all to win my love. Instead I turned my back and pretended I didn’t need Him when I knew with every inch of me that I did. When I say to stand for Jesus and be a good testimony, I mean it. If it weren’t for a friend bringing me to Church, I don’t know where I’d be. When I got saved, it felt harder to fit in. I always stand alone and always get picked on for what I believe. It hurts more than anything. I’ve been through so much, and I know God is gonna use it. I don’t have much to give Him, but I can’t offer anything less than my life…He didn’t. I can’t even begin to explain how my life has changed. I thought the pain and the hurt were gonna stay, but forgiveness found a way. That friend was the only Jesus I saw. It’s a good thing God never gave up on me; people always have. I want to inspire others to live for Christ. I long for the world to know the glory of the King! I’ve failed and failed, and I’ve hurt God and I’ve mocked God, and now I stand for Him and live for Him. The pain you’re enduring now can’t compare to the joy that’s coming, so hold on tight!”
Kimberly shared: “I live for God and love him because he loves me. So many teen girls go through life feeling unloved and searching for love in the worst places. God is love, and all they have to do is open up their eyes and realize God has loved them the whole time. 🙂 He loves every imperfection that others may think make us unlovable. Every one of those imperfections is, in his eyes, beautiful.”
This PI Gal snapped a selfie and shared these thoughts: “I used to really struggle with what people thought of me. It was pretty bad since I didn’t even wanna leave the house without makeup. And caring what other people think is still a battle I think everyone has to fight. But this year, God spoke to me so much about how He created me as beautiful. He made me how He wants me to be. And besides, we should be focusing on inner beauty anyway, because that’s where true beauty comes from (1 Peter 3:3-4). And once I saw it that way, God’s opinion became way more important to me than any person.”
Lauren captioned her shot: “I’m a nerd. I’m a Christian. I’m a nerdy Christian and I’m proud of it. 🙂 I was made fun of a lot growing up and it always lowered my self-esteem. Finally I got saved and God opened my eyes to my true beauty! God has blessed me so much throughout the years. He’s provided me with gifts and talents beyond my understanding! I’ve been through many struggles, but God was always there for me. I’ve found inner beauty through Jesus Christ!”
