Me Without Makeup

Rebecca

This is me with no makeup at all. I have not even taken a bath in this picture……..just kidding!
I began to become an insecure girl when I turned 11 years old. At the age of 9 my family and I went as missionaries to the north of India for seven years (I’m from Mexico by the way). India is a society where the male is greatly revered. Therefore women, especially the young girls, get very little respect and standing in this country. It was there where I began to feel very insecure and intimidated by this strange and new culture. There was I point when I knew I had to make a decision about whether I was going to let this feeling take over me or to become positive and even help other girls in India with their self-esteem. So, (with the help of my Heavenly Father and knowing that God is the only one that can change hearts and that without Him you are nothing) I began to change that part of me and even helped a young Indian girl and a girl from U.S. (who was also a daughter of a missionary family) and some other young girls accept and love themselves . The Indian girl named Monica even accepted Christ as her Savior!!!
Even though I still struggle and have my ups and down, I know that God made me beautiful just the way I am, and he made you beautiful just the way YOU are!

“Before I made you in your mother’s womb, I knew you. Before you were born, I chose you for a special work….Don’t be afraid of anyone.
I am with you, and I will protect you.” Jeremiah 1:5-8

That is such a cool story! Praise God! You are so pretty 🙂 I am feeling led to become a missionary (college next year), so I love to hear about how people affect different cultures for Christ!
