“Royals” Beckah Shae’s Way (Originally by Lorde!)

PI Girls, do you like the current pop hit “Royals” by Lorde? If so, you’re going to LOVE this week’s cover!

Christian singer Beckah Shae takes the top pop songs and changes the lyrics to make them have a Christ-centered message. One of her recent covers? Lorde’s “Royals.” (You can listen to her cover here!)

Listen to my version of Beckah Shae’s “Pop Medley #6” featuring “Royals”:

Here are the new lyrics to “Royals” by Beckah Shae:

We’re just like diamonds in His hands, I show my teeth just because I am really happy

And I’m not lucky I am blessed

There’s a different way, You know true ways

And all I see is gold dust, rainbows, rooms for the overflow

Favor, joy, peace, dancing with our hands raised

We don’t care

We’re living better than our own dreams

And everybody’s like ‘Tell me, show me,

What do I need to do”

I say just receive its already been done for you

And if you care, then just get caught up in this love affair

You were made to be royal

It’s running through your blood

This kinda love’s just made for us

It is always just enough

Let God be your ruler,

He’ll give you eyes to see

He’ll make you (new, new, new, new)

And take you into eternity

Here is the original song “Royals” by Lorde:

I love Beckah Shae. Her music is amazing and I love her voice. The original by Lorde is okay, but the lyrics are very ‘ehhh’. Beckah’s lyrics are so much better and it fits the song pretty well. It’s okay to have a popular song with meaningful and Jesus-fufilling lyrics.
