My parents had a rule that my two sisters and I were not allowed to wear makeup until we were fifteen. Oddly, they decided to get me a bunch of makeup for Christmas when I was twelve and they changed the rule. This picture is me on a normal day. I don’t like to wear makeup for multiple reasons. One is that it feels like a mask, and I also don’t want to get so used to wearing makeup that I don’t like myself without it. Honestly, I don’t think I even look good wearing it since it covers my freckles. God has helped me over the years to appreciate my crazy red hair and freckles! I also love me eyes (for which I give the credit to God and my mother).
Every once in a while I wear eye makeup (nothing heavy, just mascara and eye shadow), but I probably only wear full-on makeup once or twice a year (not counting when I’m acting). I encourage you girls: if you’re not wearing makeup now, don’t make it a habit! You are so beautiful the way you are, and it’s sooooo hard to decide not to once you’re in the habit (I know this from friends). Let guys and friends accept you for who you are. God made you gorgeous!
