    See Yourself Through God’s Eyes

    Ladies, so often we see ourselves in a negative light. We’re our own worst critic and we doubt our self-worth. We see our flaws, feel guilty about our mistakes and question our abilities.

    But as we’re criticizing ourselves, our amazing God is looking at us from a whole different perspective. He’s looking at us with love. It’s the same way a loving parent looks at his or her child, but with a trillion times more intensity. And when God sees us with his undying, unconditional and limitless love, He sees a completely different me and a completely different you.

    God sees you as:

    • Beautiful: Scripture is clear about beauty. “Let not yours be the outward adorning with braiding of hair, decoration of gold and wearing of robes, but let it be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable jewel of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God’s sight is very precious.” (1 Peter 3:3-4) Beauty is not what we look like on the outside; it’s the beauty within our heart that God values. So when He looks at each of us, He sees our goodness shine through. He sees our faith, our desire to follow Him. He sees that even when we failed to adhere to His commandments, we tried. He sees when we’re genuinely sorry and when we repent. This is all beauty to Him. God sees you as beautiful. Do you?
    • Relevant: “‘For surely I know the plans I have for you,’ says the Lord, ‘plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope.'” (Jeremiah 29:11) There is a reason for each one of us. There is a plan. We are an integral part of His whole and we are each as relevant as every other person that ever existed, including every apostle, saint, king or superstar. Think about that. We all have the same potential to to make a huge impact. God sees you as relevant. Do you?
    • Precious: Do you remember the story about the lost sheep? God cares so much about you that He doesn’t want to lose you to sin. So he continues to hold out for a change in your heart. And when you do change your heart, turn from your sin and live according to His Word, He is truly joyous. “‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep that was lost.’ Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.” (Luke 15:6-7) God sees you as precious. Do you?
    • Valuable: There is a value to each of us! We know God made us intricately, like a detailed piece of art. And to God, we are each a piece of art. “Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground without your Father’s will. But even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.” (Matthew 10:29–31) God sees you as valuable. Do you?
    • Worthy: Yes, we are worthy of an immense love. We are worthy of His desire to have a relationship with Him. We are worthy of His amazing forgiveness whenever we ask for it with sincerity, no matter what the sin. And we are worthy of God’s most amazing sacrifice. He sent His only son to die for us, remember? And of course, we’re worthy enough to share happiness with Him in Heaven. God sees you as worthy. Do you?
    • Capable: “Like good stewards of the manifold grace of God, serve one another with whatever gift each of you has received.” (1 Peter 4:10) God blessed and entrusted each of us with amazing gifts to use to glorify Him and share His Word. He entrusted that gift to us! Maybe it’s the gift of singing, dancing, teaching, selling, nurturing or speaking. Whatever the gift is, we must use it to witness and minister. Our gifts are important enough that God assigned it to us. He obviously believes in us. God sees you as capable. Do you?

    For it was you who formed my inward parts;
    you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
    I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
    Wonderful are your works;
    that I know very well.
    My frame was not hidden from you,
    when I was being made in secret,
    intricately woven in the depths of the earth.
    Your eyes beheld my unformed substance.
    In your book were written
    all the days that were formed for me,
    when none of them as yet existed.

    (Psalm 139:13-16)

    Ladies, how often do you see yourself through God’s eyes?
