“He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust”. Surely He will save you from the fowlers snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you will find refuge; His faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. ” Psalm 91:1-4

Mine is Proverbs 4:23. I hold this verse close to my soul because this year I made a vow to Jesus that I wouldn’t have another boyfriend until I’m 16 and when I do I’ll court. I recently got my purity ring to help remind me of this. I don’t want to cheat on my future husband. I need to give the gift of my whole self to my husband on my wedding night because that’s what God wants. I hope my husband keeps his purity and if he didn’t I would be devastated but I would still accept and love him endlessly.

“I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” ~ Jeremiah 1:05
The reason this is my verse for this year is because, before this year started, 2014 was a life changing year. God took away, and still is, all things that were not part of His perfect plan. This hurt. I did a lot of mistakes last year. I was talking to my pastor about how I felt unworthy of God. Of how I felt ugly spiritually and physically. I told him I had gone back to cutting because I felt there was no other way to go. My pastor prayed for me and started telling me of how he knew me for about 13 yrs and of how I was different then my church friends, of how I sometimes seemed like an outcast. He told me that God said I was set apart from my sin. That I was set apart from everything and everyone. He told me I was special, beautiful, and strong. Then he told me to read the story of Jeremiah. You see Jeremiah was set apart from the beginning, he was a spiritual warrior (like me! :D). When I heard this I got so happy! I am currently reading Jeremiah and WOW! This verse popped up. I am now finding myself in Christ! I am learning to love myself as I am 🙂 Thank God for everything He does!

There is so many verses I like but I especially like Jeremiah 29:11: “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” It reminds me that God has a plan for my life, and I can trust Him.

    Psalm 63:3-5
Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you. I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands. I will be fully satisfied as with the richest of foods; with singing lips my mouth will praise you.

This past year I have been struggling with being content with God and where God has me. This verse reminds me that what He gives me, and where He places me is MORE than satisfactory.

    1 Corinthians 13:1-3 NIV

If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

    1 Peter 3:4
But let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God’s sight is very precious.
Women think that being beautiful on the outside is what matter most but it doesn’t. What is inside your heart will matter the most to God and other people.

    Romans 5:3-5
Not only so, but we glory in tribulation also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; and patience, experience; and experience, hope: and hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

I found this verse last year shortly after I started praying for patience, something I lack in. I guess God wanted me to know what I was getting myself into. My life is about to do some seriously stressful shifting, and I’m going to need that patience and experience and hope.

    28 Do you not know?
    Have you not heard?
The Lord is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
and his understanding no one can fathom.
29 He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.
30 Even youths grow tired and weary,
    and young men stumble and fall;
31 but those who hope in the Lord
    will renew their strength.
    They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not faint.

Titus 1:16 say,”Such people claim they know God, but deny him by the way they live. They are detestable and disobedient, worthless for doing anything good.”

Guess the real reason why I love this verse is because it guides my life. How can I serve God when I’m not living for him?

Which reminds me of 2 Timothy 2:4,”Soldiers don’t get tied up in the affairs of civilian life, for then they cannot please the officer who enlisted them.”

“However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me–the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.”
    Acts Chapter 20 verse 24.

This verse is my favorite at the moment because it reminds me that my life is not my own, that my only goal should be to give glory to God and bring others to know him.

Psalm 16:1 Preserve me, Oh God, for in You I put my trust.

I used to repeat this verse whenever I was scared, stressed, or just tired of life. Now, this has become my favorite verse because it just has so much strength and worth in my life! 🙂

    God bless, girls!

” I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us” – Romans 8:18

As I study the Book of 1Peter and listen to what God is saying to me these days, I am ever more encouraged to keep walking in faith with the lord; regardless of the circumstances and the hardships of emotional despair that I have been experiencing in the last years. As the new year came, the Lord strengthened me by giving me this verse and keeps reminding me of His unchanging support throughout the everyday spiritual battle I face! This verse is my confirmation from God that no matter what I am facing right now, it is too little when compared the joy that will overwhelm (even now with anticipation) my little heart upon seeing my victorious father, Jesus!

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” ~Matthew 11:28-30.

This verse brings me so much comfort because I am such a perfectionist. I’m finding comfort in giving all my troubles to Jesus and letting him control my life. God doesn’t want us to hold onto our troubles and to keep worrying about the things in our lives, and realizing this has helped me to relinquish my hold on everything. I’m following His plan for my life 🙂

This upcoming year is going to have so many decisions for me and I know I’m going to get stressed out easily. This verse gives me confidence that God can get me through it all!

1 John 5:4–“For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.”

We came across this verse in Bible study, and it reminded me of something that my dad has always been telling me: that the world is so messed up now because we collectively as humankind are losing the battle that’s taking place in the spiritual realm, and it’s manifesting itself in our physical world. This gives me hope because just as we feel better when we’re one with God, so will the physical world.

Most of my favorite verses come out of the book of Psalms. I have always loved the Psalms 23. Another verse I like is Psalm 28:7,
“The Lord is my strength and my shield; My heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.”

Another one I like is Philippians 4:6-7
“Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

“I know that my redeemer lives, and that in the end he will stand on the earth.” -Job 19:25

I first came across this verse a month ago while studying Job. In 2014, I faced a lot of challenges. One of the biggest challenges was being taken away from the town I had lived in for 13 years and moving somewhere where no one knew me. I wish I would have found this verse sooner, because to me, it means that no matter what is happening right now, God will have the glory in the end! It’s such and powerful verse, and I say it to myself at least once and day.

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, says the Lord. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:8-9
Isaiah 55:8-9 spoke to me when I came across a devotion one day. I was so stress about God’s plan for my future. This verse gave me peace and it reminded me that God has everything under control. It also reminded me that we do not have worry about his plan because his plan is more higher, more beautiful, and more bigger than any of us can imagine. As I move on to 2015, this verse will speak to me each and everyday that God will always have the better plan. 🙂

    Isaiah 6:8
Then I heard the Lord asking, “Whom should I send as a messenger to this people? Who will go for us?”

I said, “Here I am. Send me.”

I love this verse, because when I was praying for God to show me what I was meant to do in His kingdom, this was one of the verses He showed me, and now I now that I’ve been called to do mission work. Ladies, if you still don’t know what you’re supposed to do for God, I encourage you to be in prayer and read your bible until He shows you.

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:20

This verse is one of my favorites because it keeps me humble and reminds me that God can help me do anything and that he loves me even though I decided to make so many mistakes before!
