    1. Romans 12:12
Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.

These 3 points pretty much sums up my goals for 2015 to have a healthy christian walk. Joyful in hope, meaning holding on to Christ’s truths, being patient in affliction not letting myself down and remembering that He goes before me and has a plan for my life, and faithful in prayer because talking more to the Father takes me closer to Him and helps me become and think more like Him everyday.

    2. My favorite bible verse is phippians 4:13. I can do all things though Christmas who strengthens me. I know a lot of people like this verse but this verse saved my life literally. I am 19 and I have had a rare nurological condition that is incurable for 5 years now. I was about done with God when I heard this verse.

    3. My favorite Bible verse is Philippians 4:13. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
I really love this verse and I say it to myself almost everyday in school, pre-college courses, with my family, and playing the piano. It’s an amazing encouragement to me. God is on my side so I can do anything!

    4. Psalm 118:8-9 “It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in humans. It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in princes.” Even when I have turned my back on God he has never failed to be there watching over and protecting me. In this world there are many people we think we can trust this way, like friends and significant others but no one is a safer refuge than the Lord. I’m constantly inspired by this reminder to keep growing in my relationship with God.

    5. Romans 14: 7-8 “for none of lives for ourselves alone and none of us dies for ourselves alone. If we live we live for the Lord and if we die we do so for the Lord. So, whether we live or die we belong to the Lord.”

    6. Acts 4:11 “This Jesus is the stone rejected by you builders, which has become the cornerstone.” This speaks to me because Jesus was rejected by man, yet He willingly gave us His life to give us grace.

    7. My favourite Bible verse is 1 Corinthians 6:4-10, which says: “Rather, as servants of God we commend ourselves in every way: in great endurance; in troubles, hardships and distresses; in beatings, imprisonments and riots; in hard work, sleepless nights and hunger; in purity, understanding, patience and kindness; in the Holy Spirit and in sincere love; in truthful speech and in the power of God; with weapons of righteousness in the right hand and in the left; through glory and dishonor, bad report and good report; genuine, yet regarded as impostors; known, yet regarded as unknown; dying, and yet we live on; beaten, and yet not killed; sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; poor, yet making many rich; having nothing, and yet possessing everything.” I love this because of the conviction it carries.

    8. 1 Timothy 4:12- Let no one despise you for your youth; instead, you should be an example to the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.

I love this verse because it reminds me that though I’m not an adult, I can still have an influence on people and I need to choose for it to be a positive one.

    9. Proverbs 11:16
a kindhearted woman gains honor, but ruthless men only gain wealth.

      Or

      Psalm 16:11
You make known to me the path of life; you fill me with joy in your presence and eternal pleasure at your right hand.

    10. 1 John 3:18 Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions.
That’s my favorite verse because it reminds me to show love as He shows us love.

    11. My favorite verse is Isaiah 41:10- “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” This is my favorite because I had to memorize it one year at summer camp and it gives me strength to keep going when I am afraid of something or I think I should give on something.

    12. Psalms 56:8 “Thou tellest my wanderings: hath thee not put thine tears in thou bottle: are they not on thy book?” –my youth pastor showed me this when I was always crying after my adoptive parents decided to get a divorce and my dad died before it could be finalized– just reminds me that God’s love is greater than humanly measures and he is always there in our sufferings

    13. Philippians 1:20-21 NIV

I eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed, but will have sufficient courage so that now as always Christ will be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death. For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.

    14. I have two passages 😀 “Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended; but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before. I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Jesus Christ.” Philippians 3:13,14 ” Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith…” Hebrews 12:1,2 because I just recently let go of my past and was felt the Holy Spirit and God lifted me out of depression, and now I’m pressing on towards Christ unafraid to live a life fully dedicated to Him 🙂

    15. “Look at the birds of the sky: They don’t sow or reap or gather into barns, yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren’t you worth more than they?”
      Matthew‬ ‭6‬:‭26‬
This is currently my favorite bible verse. It really shows how deep God’s love is for us!

    16. Colossians 2:13-14 HCSB

And when you were dead in trespasses and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you alive with Him and forgave us all our trespasses. He erased the certificate of debt, with its obligations, that was against us and opposed to us, and has taken it out of the way by nailing it to the cross.

I actually have two that go together 🙂 These verses are so powerful to me and they help illustrate what Jesus did for us. It’s just so real and simple and passionate. It makes me so utterly and completely grateful for my Savior!

    17. James 1:19-20″My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires.”

    18. But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation. I will sing the Lord’s praise, for he has been good to me. (‭Psalm‬ ‭13‬:‭5-6‬ NIV)

Even I’m the roughest times, I remember this verse and praise God for all He has done in my life ^_^

    19. By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence. (‭2 Peter‬ ‭1‬:‭3 NLT)

It is by his power, not ours, that we have come to know our God. I don’t need to worry about being a “perfect” Christian because being a believer is not about me being good but about Christ being in me. This makes me righteous and Godly, therefore I unconsciously live a Godly life without much effort. Thank you Jesus that it is you holding on to us and not us trying to hold on to you. (We would let go easily if we tried to hold on to him by our own human efforts.)

    20. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. (Philippines 4:13 NKJV)

This verse speaks to me so much! You can do all things through Christ, he will never put you through something unless you are strong enough and he is always right there by your side. All you have to do is have faith and trust in him.

    21. Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you”, says the Lord, “Plans to proper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

I love this verse because it assures me that despite what I’m going through in my life, good will come out of it. It gives me hope to know that God knows me and has plans great for my life, leading me to trust Him throughout all that comes my way. I let Him take control and guide me in the right direction

    22. Psalm 91:1-7

Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of The Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.”
      Surely he will save you
      from the fowler’s snare
      and from the deadly pestilence.
He will cover you with his feathers,
      and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
You will not fear the terror of night,
nor the arrow that flies by day,
nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,
nor the plague that destroys at midday. A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.

    23. John 15:18-19 “If the world hates you, know it hated me before it hated you. If you were of the world the world would love you as one of it’s own, but since you’re not of the world, but i’ve taken you from the world, the world hates you.”

This has been my favorite verse because when i became a christian, I was the only christian in my family (and still am other than a little sister). My parents hated the fact i went to church, hated me singing worship songs at home while cleaning, hated me writing bible verses on my wrist. When i became a christian they were filled with hatred. I had told my youth pastor this and he told me this verse. That my parents don’t hate me, they hate what i now am, They hate Christ. It was encouraging because Christ, though he was perfect, was hated. I am far from perfect and I am no where near as hated as Jesus Christ was. It also reminds me, not everyone is going to love me, not everyone is going to be my friend no matter how nice, how caring, how friendly I am to them. It was a known fact in the time of Jesus and still stands as a known fact to this day.

    24. “Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.” -Romans 12:12
When I was super sick over the course of a few months, God always brought this verse into my head when I felt the weakest.

    25. Luke 1:37
“For with God nothing shall be impossible.”

I can do all things with and through God, who helps me with every facet of my life. 🙂 He loves me and wants the best for me, and there is NOTHING I can’t do with Him!

    26. ” But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31

This verse is so encouraging knowing God is my strength! A lot has happened this past year and God has been with my family every step of the way. I guess that’s why this verse is so dear to my heart.

    27. Isaiah 55:8-9, “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”

I love this verse because it talks about how the Lord’s thoughts are higher than ours, and this is very important. It means that we do not need to worry about what is going to happen in our lives, because God’s plans are going to work out. His ways are better than our ways, and his thoughts are higher than our thoughts.

    28. Isaiah 40:29-31
29 He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.
30 Even youths grow tired and weary,
      and young men stumble and fall;
31 but those who hope in the Lord
      will renew their strength.
      They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.

This is my life verse! I love this verse it gets me through everything!

    29. He must become greater. I must become less. (John 3:30)

This verse is my favorite because, even though it is short, it says so much. He must become the center of our life and be our main focus. His plan is greater than our earthly desires. This verse is a constant reminder to put him before all else and to honor him in all that we do.

    30. Psalm 27:13
I am still confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.

This verse means a lot to me because sometimes the world lets us down. It seems unfair, but then I remember: any goodness in the world comes only from God. He is not only Lord of heaven, but Lord of earth also, and He will shine His love and peace through us and other Christians. We can help manifest the goodness of the Lord! That’s why this verse encourages me 🙂

    31. Philippians 3:12-14 is my absolute favorite bible verse! It says that I am not the person that God wants me to be yet but I will keep pushing towards that goal and fighting the good fight! That’s what God wants all of us to do. We aren’t who we are meant to be yet but shouldn’t we strive to be? Everyday is a new day to further God’s beautiful Kingdom!

    32. My favorite verse, or should I say sentence, consists of 3 verses:
This is what the Word of God says is Isaiah 61:1-3
“The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.” KGV

I love this passage and I finally chose to believe it, word for word, and declare it true in my life this year. I’ve discovered that my life is not my own and because of it I’ve found great joy! God has called each and every one of us to step out of mediocracy, and this passage shows us that He has already equipped us to do so. We’ve been taught over and over that the Spirit of God abides in us but we forget that He’s alive, like a child in the womb: He’s moving around, He’s kicking and wanting to come out and show himself to the world! It’s time to allow the Holy Spirit of God to work through us, giving Him full liberty in our words, our arms, our feet and everything. Yes we are little but the Spirit of God is upon us and we are annointed to transform for the Glory of God. That’s why these three verses are my favorite for 2015, so if i had to choose one I’d choose verse 1 of this chapter because God is just so amazing!

    33. Psalm 139:11-12
If I say, “Surely the darkness shall cover me, and the light about me be night,” even the darkness is not dark in you; the night is bright as the day, for darkness is as light with you.

    34. Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your path.

I know that I just have to trust God and keep my faith no matter what. God will lead me where He wants me. He would never lead me astray. He knows best for me. I trust Him to guide me.

      • I am naturally a logical thinker. God’s ways don’t always make sense to me. In fact, they rarely do. Even when I fully believe that He’s calling me to do something, I think of it logically and it doesn’t make sense. But God doesn’t require me to understand. He only wants me to obey, and it will all work out according to His plan. He has a purpose, even if I don’t understand that. I just have to trust Him.

    35. Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your path straight.

This is my all time favorite verse! As I start this new year I keep in mind this verse because in life we may face things that we don’t understand or have to make decisions about what we want to do with our future (college) and its amazing to know that if we give it all to God he will help us understand and make clear what path we need to take.(:

    36. {Romans 8:38,39}
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any power, neither height nor depth nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

    37. It’s so hard for me to choose just one verse…there’s so many that mean so much to me!

I have to say though, the verse/passage that has gotten me through a rather tough time this past year has been 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18:

“Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.”

God pretty much pounded this passage into me this past year while I have been struggling with a difficult job situation. I was so tempted to complain and pout and become depressed about it, but God says 1) we are to be JOYFUL. It doesn’t matter what we are going through, if we know Christ, we have JOY that comes from our salvation and we should bask in that joy knowing that we are loved and alive in Him! 2) Never stop praying. Even when our prayers seem to go unanswered, or we don’t get the answer we wanted, keep praying! Keep sharing with God what is on our heart every moment of the day. He wants us to talk to Him about what we are going through! 3) Be thankful….not just when things are going great, but in ALL CIRCUMSTANCES! This was a blow to my complaining self and inspired me to start a I’m Thankful 365 challenge where I blog about something I’m thankful for each day of the year (bex1291.tumblr.com). Whatever situation we are in, we ALWAYS ALWAYS have something to be thankful for. We serve a great and mighty God and He is oh so incredibly GOOD. It’s amazing how much our lives and outlooks change when we CHOOSE to be thankful!

    38. Gal 2:20: I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. Such powerful verse 🙂

    39. “Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.” Colossians 3:1-4
      (My life chapter)

    40. Jeremiah 1:5 – “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.”

Recently at my church I became a praise and worship leader. This is something I always KNEW I was called to do but when it came time for solos and such other people were picked. Looking back I realize I wasn’t ready or prepared to step into that role that God had called me to. Looking back I thank God for making me wait. 2015 is my year to step into and function in the callings God has placed on my life and man 2015 has been off to an amazing start. He’s taking my higher in the music ministry and I’m enjoying the growth that is taking place within me!
