Survey: What Are Your Favorite TV Shows?

Our movie survey got more than 100 comments, so we think it’s safe to say that you love movies. (If you haven’t filled it out yet, go here!) Though TV and film are certainly different mediums, many people who love one at least appreciate the other, since they’re similar in many ways.

What we love about television is its ability to to stick around in our lives. No matter how much you love a movie character, you’ll only see their story for a couple of hours (or in the case of Harry Potter, like 19 hours–but still!). Some of the best TV shows last for five seasons or more, giving us years of quality time with characters’ lives and stories.

We’re interested to hear about YOUR favorite shows, characters, viewing habits and more!

Copy the questions below and paste them (along with your answers) in a comment.

1. On a scale of 1 to 10 (1 being not at all, 10 being tons), how much do you love TV? Why did you pick that number?

2. How many shows do you watch?

3. What is your favorite show that’s currently on TV? Favorite show of the past?

4. What’s your preferred viewing method–do you watch shows live, DVR them, or watch them online?

5. Who do you watch TV with? Friends? Family?

6. Is there anything you’re not allowed to watch? Do you wish you could watch it or plan to when you’re older?

7. If you love TV, what do you love about it? If you’re not into it, what about it doesn’t appeal to you?

8. Are there any shows you really don’t like? Why?

9. Do you think TV has the ability to teach us? Especially for people who don’t go to movies much, can watching certain shows open our minds to things we otherwise wouldn’t know about?

10. If you could meet any character from TV, who would it be and why? (Notice we said character, not actor. Feel free to include one of those, too, if you want!)

We can’t wait to hear all about your favorite shows!

    1. On a scale of 1 to 10 (1 being not at all, 10 being tons), how much do you love TV? Why did you pick that number?

7; it provides a good break at the end of the week. And, really, often shows remind one how twisted this sin-cursed world is, making you all the more eager for the New Earth. It also shows you the futileness and sadness of a life “devoid” of God.

    2. How many shows do you watch?
    3 or so.

    3. What is your favorite show that’s currently on TV? Favorite show of the past?
I don’t know if any of the shows I watch are currently airing; “Merlin.”

    4. What’s your preferred viewing method–do you watch shows live, DVR them, or watch them online?
    I watch them online.

    5. Who do you watch TV with? Friends? Family?
I watch them with my siblings.

    6. Is there anything you’re not allowed to watch? Do you wish you could watch it or plan to when you’re older?
There are a few period dramas I have my eye one. I’ll see how I feel about them in a few years.

    7. If you love TV, what do you love about it? If you’re not into it, what about it doesn’t appeal to you?
I love the ongoing story, and how everything ties together. I love/hate seeing the contrast between a character at the beginning of a show, and how different/the same they are at the end.

    8. Are there any shows you really don’t like? Why?
“Downton Abbey;” it is a perfect example of a life without God.

    9. Do you think TV has the ability to teach us? Especially for people who don’t go to movies much, can watching certain shows open our minds to things we otherwise wouldn’t know about?
Yes, TV can teach us, in both good and bad ways. It definitely opens up our minds, but often to things we didn’t need to know.

    10. If you could meet any character from TV, who would it be and why? (Notice we said character, not actor. Feel free to include one of those, too, if you want!)
There are several, but I’ll just list one: Daisy/Skye/Quake Johnson from “Agents of SHIELD.”

She always looks like she needs a hug, which I would be happy to provide (I love hugs!). I also know I could learn much from her. How to be selfless, how to be confident.

She is also one of the most influential characters in the show; I would tell her about God’s love, tell her she doesn’t have to carry all the weight of her secrets and responsibilities and hurts alone, and that God has forgiven her of all her wrongs. If she knew about Jesus, she would most definitely have a strong influence on the other characters.

    1. On a scale of 1 to 10 (1 being not at all, 10 being tons), how much do you love TV? Why did you pick that number?

Love? 9.9999. I love the characters and the plots, the special effects, the makeup, the lighting, the camera pans, the filming, the locations, just, FILM.

    2. How many shows do you watch?

Currently, about 6, but I plan on starting more.

    3. What is your favorite show that’s currently on TV? Favorite show of the past

Current: Either Supernatural, Sherlock, Doctor Who, Sleepy Hollow, Gravity Falls, or Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
    Past: The Amanda Show.

    4. What’s your preferred viewing method–do you watch shows live, DVR them, or watch them online?

Netflix, it’s the easiest way for me.

    5. Who do you watch TV with? Friends? Family?

Ahahahahahahah, no. It would not be practical for the weeping over the characters pain. (*glare’s at Supernatural*)

    6. Is there anything you’re not allowed to watch? Do you wish you could watch it or plan to when you’re older?

Family Guy and the Simpons. Pretty much everything on Adult Swim.

    7. If you love TV, what do you love about it? If you’re not into it, what about it doesn’t appeal to you?

    Reread number 1.

    8. Are there any shows you really don’t like? Why?

Toddlers and Tiaras….just….why? Why little girls? If they were older, I’d be fine with it. Knock yourself out. But 3-5 year olds? Whyyyyyy.

    9. Do you think TV has the ability to teach us? Especially for people who don’t go to movies much, can watching certain shows open our minds to things we otherwise wouldn’t know about?

Yes! One of the best lessons I’ve ever learned from a TV show is from Supernatural, and it’s that family doesn’t end in blood. Family is also your close friends. The people who love you. That’s your family. “Family don’t end in blood.”- Bobby Singer
From Doctor Who: Everyone is important. “You know in over 900 years of time and space travel I’ve never met someone who wasn’t important.”- The Doctor.
From Sherlock: People can change. “I’m a high functioning sociopath, do you research….” (*time lapse*)
“They will kill everyone you care about.”
    “John…..” -Sherlock and Moriarty.

    10. If you could meet any character from TV, who would it be and why? (Notice we said character, not actor. Feel free to include one of those, too, if you want!)

Characters, Dean and Sam Winchester, Castiel, the Doctor, Sherlock, John Watson, and Icabod Crane.

1- 5. The only time I really watch TV is with my family at night, or during the afternoon when I can watch my shows without being bothered.

2- 6. Two are off air, two are between seasons, and two I need to catch up on.

3- That’s hard. I love all my shows, or I wouldn’t watch them, but probably Duck Dynasty or The Fosters. I know I might get hate for The Fosters, but to me it has an interesting plot. As for the old ones, both Kim Possible and Avatar: The Last Airbender.

4- I DVR them, which I probably shouldn’t do seeing as how my little sister deletes them, but I’m too busy when they’re airing and my internet is too crappy to watch them online.

5- Usually myself, sometimes with my little sister or my family. My family usually watches a Food Network show together at night, usually Chopped, Duck Dynasty, or Dinners, Drive Ins,and Dives.

6- Except the obviously over-sexualized ones, no. My Dad is bothered, yes. But my mom trusts me enough to be smart about what I watch and not letting me take it to heart, or not watching it if I know it’s not for me.

7- I don’t like a lot of TV or movies, but what draws me in is a strong plot line and strong characters. I don’t like too much humor, which is a lot what TV is, or stupid drama.

8- Toddlers and Tiaras. Need I say more?

9- Yes. TV is a powerful tool. I know of someone who became a Christian by watching The Bible.

10- Gosh, this is a bot fangirly, but Zuko from Avatar: The Last Airbender. As well as Si from Duck Dynasty. And Bolin from Legend of Korra.

    1. On a scale of 1 to 10 (1 being not at all, 10 being tons), how much do you love TV? Why did you pick that number?

I’d pick about an 8.5 or a 9. I love being able to turn on the TV and learn something new, or get drawn into some kind of story. Or I can watch something funny to laugh and unwind.

    2. How many shows do you watch?

    Lots?

    3. What is your favorite show that’s currently on TV? Favorite show of the past?

Dance Moms, American Idol, Once Upon a Time, Doctor Who, and General Hospital. I can’t pick a favorite but I love these 5! My favorite TV show of the past is One Life to Live.

    4. What’s your preferred viewing method–do you watch shows live, DVR them, or watch them online?

I do all of these, but I like DVR and online better. Less commercials to watch!

    5. Who do you watch TV with? Friends? Family?

Mainly family or my boyfriend. My friends and I don’t watch that much TV when we’re together!

    6. Is there anything you’re not allowed to watch? Do you wish you could watch it or plan to when you’re older?

Not really. I wasn’t allowed to watch much when I was little but now I can watch whatever I want. I don’t like shows that are rated above TV-14, though.

    7. If you love TV, what do you love about it? If you’re not into it, what about it doesn’t appeal to you?

I can learn from it and be entertained at the same time. I love reading books, but it’s a little harder and more time-consuming to find and read books on the exact same things as TV shows.

    8. Are there any shows you really don’t like? Why?

All those crime shows like NCIS and Law and Order–they make me paranoid about being a victim of crimes like those! And I can’t stand the Walking Dead. It’s just too gross for me

    9. Do you think TV has the ability to teach us? Especially for people who don’t go to movies much, can watching certain shows open our minds to things we otherwise wouldn’t know about?

Sure it can teach us and show us new things we haven’t heard of before. Of course, there are shows that send crappy messages or teach us a little too much if you get my drift! But that doesn’t mean TV is all bad.

    10. If you could meet any character from TV, who would it be and why? (Notice we said character, not actor. Feel free to include one of those, too, if you want!)

Viki from One Life to Live. Yes, I love soaps…OLTL and GH. I just get so attached to the characters, and Viki is this wise, grandmotherly figure who goes through a lot and still stays strong.

In a different kind of mood though, I’d like to meet the Doctor!

I love the clean humor (usually) on Disney and Nickelodeon shows, I also love Christian based shows like Duck Dynasty and 19 Kids and Counting. The last two provide me with decent shows that aren’t feeding everybody’s souls junk.
    8. Are there any shows you really don’t like? Why?
I really don’t like shows on MTV cause they are always gross to watch. They do inappropriate things that other people shouldn’t see.
    9. Do you think TV has the ability to teach us? Especially for people who don’t go to movies much, can watching certain shows open our minds to things we otherwise wouldn’t know about?
Yes, for sure! I definitely think TV has the ability to teach us things that we might not know about. People on reality shows are drinking and smoking weed and doing things like that.
    10. If you could meet any character from TV, who would it be and why? (Notice we said character, not actor. Feel free to include one of those, too, if you want!)
If I could meet any character from TV I would want to meet Marty Dieks and Kensi Blye from NCIS LA. Their partner relationship is so funny to watch and I think it would be fun to meet them. If I could meet anybody from a reality type show, it would probably be anybody from Duck Dynasty (if I had to pick one it would be Si), or the Duggars. If I could meet any actress it would be Selena Gomez

    1. On a scale of 1 to 10 (1 being not at all, 10 being tons), how much do you love TV? Why did you pick that number?

5 – I don’t watch that much TV. Only a couple of shows.

    2. How many shows do you watch?

About 3– Sherlock, Doctor Who, and Supernatural.

    3. What is your favorite show that’s currently on TV? Favorite show of the past?

Supernatural, and Doctor Who is coming back soon! Yay!

    4. What’s your preferred viewing method–do you watch shows live, DVR them, or watch them online?

I use Netflix to watch them.

    5. Who do you watch TV with? Friends? Family?

    With my mom, mainly.

    6. Is there anything you’re not allowed to watch? Do you wish you could watch it or plan to when you’re older?

Not really. Everything that I wouldn’t be ‘allowed’ to watch, I don’t like anyway, so it evens out.

    7. If you love TV, what do you love about it? If you’re not into it, what about it doesn’t appeal to you?

    Media fascism.

    8. Are there any shows you really don’t like? Why?

Too many to list. It’s amazing how much crap is out there. Every show has it’s crap, but it’s the ones that are just TOTAL crap that get me. No lessons, no advice, no MEANING, there are just too many of them. It makes me sad.

    9. Do you think TV has the ability to teach us? Especially for people who don’t go to movies much, can watching certain shows open our minds to things we otherwise wouldn’t know about?

DEFINITELY. The input of information is the only way we learn things, and media is a BOMBARDMENT of information, it only makes logical sense that we would learn things from it, whether we relaise it or not.

    10. If you could meet any character from TV, who would it be and why? (Notice we said character, not actor. Feel free to include one of those, too, if you want!)

    THE DOCTOR!! 😀

    1. On that scale, TV is probably a 3 to me. I rarely watch actual TV.

    2. I keep up with one show (New Girl!), but I enjoy watching Criminal Minds, Sherlock, and Supernatural.

    3. I love New Girl! It’s so realistic and encourages me to embrace my quirks and weaknesses 🙂

    4. I watch a few shows online, but I mostly either rent an entire season on DVD and have a marathon, or watch a recorded episode of a show.

    5. I watch shows with my family. My sister and I always watch New Girl together, and Sherlock and Supernatural are a family event.

    6. When I was younger, I was only allowed to watch PBS and certain other educational shows. I don’t feel it’s healthy to be so restrictive with TV though. Now my parents don’t like me watching shows with a lot of sexual content/foul language, but they allow it. I think as long as you’re aware of the wrong vs. the right in something, you should be able to watch anything that interests you.

    7. I’m not big on TV because you have to watch your show at a certain time on a certain day. I’m very spontaneous, so I don’t actually sit and watch TV.

    8. I don’t like a lot of reality TV shows, mainly the ones focusing on young children (pageants, the Honey Booboo one?), or anything that gives spoiled kids/teens too much attention. They need help, not fame!

    9. I definitely think TV can teach (although as a future teacher, I see the education in everything). Even the “worst” shows can teach us something if we open our minds to it. A lot of reality TV taught me how to be more appreciative of what I have and how I was raised–and of course the education I received! 😛 haha

    10. I would definitely want to meet Nick Miller from New Girl. I feel that I can relate to him a lot. I’m also interested in meeting Sherlock from the show, or I suppose any Sherlock Holmes from any show/movie. He also seems like someone I can relate to.

1.probably around a 7 because I really appreciate the ability of being able to create this huge long story made up of tons of different segments, looking into the whole big picture and yet putting together a huge puzzle of details in the story.i think that requires a lot of thought and skill.
    2.I guess I watch around 10 or 15
    3. For sure Once Upon a Time. Leave it to Beaver or The Dick Van Dyke show cause i like the black and white comedies 🙂
    4. We watch ours on Hulu or Netflix cause we dont have cable.
    5. Family, we always watch tv when we eat dinner and before bed.
    6. Well i love to watch SNL and my mom doesn’t really like it, but she doesn’t object to it. It’s just that my siblings aren’t allowed to watch it so my opportunities are somewhat limited.
    7. i love getting a cliffhanger and then figuring out what happens next week.
    8. One of my dad’s favorite sci-fi shows is SG Universe and I like the other two Stargate shows but I really dislike that one cause it’s just so serious and I like the exciting and funny ones like Stargate Atlantis.
9.TV can definitely be thought provoking and you can totally learn stuff if you watch Discovery channel lol
10.Probably Prince Charming from Once Upon a Time or Colonel Shepard from Stargate Atlantis

    1. Umm…probably 8 or 9… xD / TV shows are like dreams…you get to get away from life for a little bit, or they can just be something to cheer you up, or get you super excited and hyped up!
    2. At the same time? Three currently, but I’ve watched plenty others
    3. Doctor Who!!! The Office XD, Glee / Lost, Gilmore Girls 🙂
    4. Netflix! (we don’t have cable 🙂 though even when we did I never regularly watched something on TV
    5. Myself or mom, and sometimes dad too. I like watching shows with friends too, whenI can

    1. On a scale of 1 to 10 (1 being not at all, 10 being tons), how much do you love TV? Why did you pick that number?
I’d say probably a 7…I enjoy following my favorite show but I don’t like to always sit down to watch them. TiVo in front of an elliptical machine is a wonderful thing 😉

    2. How many shows do you watch?
13 (total, but they’re not all in season at the same time, and often don’t keep up with most of them and catch up when I have free time)

    3. What is your favorite show that’s currently on TV? Favorite show of the past?
My favorite TV show that is currently on is Revenge (so many twists and drama). My favorite show of the past is Kim Possible (she was a kick butt teenager)

    4. What’s your preferred viewing method–do you watch shows live, DVR them, or watch them online?
I prefer to watch them on DVR when I am at home but usually when I’m at school I watch shows online because my schedule makes it difficult to sit down and watch my favorite shows as they air.

    5. Who do you watch TV with? Friends? Family?
I usually watch TV by myself…some shows with my sister at home and a few with my roommate when we’re at school.

    6. Is there anything you’re not allowed to watch? Do you wish you could watch it or plan to when you’re older?
I’m not supposed to watch any kind of wedding shows (Say Yes to the Dress, 4 Weddings) because my Dad doesn’t want me to have unreasonable expectations for my wedding, but he forgets that I’ve always wanted to do alot of DIY for my wedding and the shows motivate me when I work out so he “ignores” the wedding shows on our DVR :p

    7. If you love TV, what do you love about it? If you’re not into it, what about it doesn’t appeal to you?
I don’t love TV because I feel like a couch potato when I sit down to watch tv for an extended period of time (even a movie), but I enjoy being entertained by the wide variety of genres offered on TV

    8. Are there any shows you really don’t like? Why?
I don’t like trashy reality shows like Jersey Shore, but the reasoning for that is rather obvious

    9. Do you think TV has the ability to teach us? Especially for people who don’t go to movies much, can watching certain shows open our minds to things we otherwise wouldn’t know about?
I think certain shows can teach us, obviously alot of shows on channels like the History Channel can always be educational, but I think sometimes people let personalities on tv steep into their own personalities and its not always the best thing. But honestly, it depends on the person and what is being watched.

    10. If you could meet any character from TV, who would it be and why? (Notice we said character, not actor. Feel free to include one of those, too, if you want!)
I’ll pick two, because I enjoy alot of different TV shows. First, I would like to meet Aria from Pretty Little Liars–she is the most down to earth and most calm out of the 4 girls and has a great sense of style. The other character I would pick is Mary Margaret (Snow White) from Once Upon a Time–she tries so hard to be the good that her mother always wanted to see in her and she is always the compassionate one who is always looking out for others before herself. She is such a fearless and inspiring woman.

      1. On a scale of 1 to 10 (1 being not at all, 10 being tons), how much do you love TV? Why did you pick that number?
4.3 There are a few select shows I enjoy with fantastic plot, and superb acting, but other than that, I hardly turn on the idiot box.

      2. How many shows do you watch?
Currently six live action shows, four of which are British television programs I view online, my dad owns the box sets of three old shows I adore, and I consume anime at an alarming rate.
      3. What is your favorite show that’s currently on TV? Favorite show of the past?
Currently, my favorite show would be Doctor Who, my favorite show of the past is Night Court.

      4. What’s your preferred viewing method–do you watch shows live, DVR them, or watch them online?
If I could watch them live, I would. I don’t own a DVR, so most of my viewing is done online.

      5. Who do you watch TV with? Friends? Family?
Dad, best friend, boyfriend, my dog.

      6. Is there anything you’re not allowed to watch? Do you wish you could watch it or plan to when you’re older?
No, my Dad trusts my judgement, but I don’t plan on going near any of the reality shows that demean and destroy human nature exploiting the faults of others until they are portrayed as nothing but sniveling idiots.

      7. If you love TV, what do you love about it? If you’re not into it, what about it doesn’t appeal to you?
I am in the middle, I like that it is a unique method of story telling, I dislike a lot of the programming that passes for television these days. Do we need four singing shows? Really?

      8. Are there any shows you really don’t like? Why?
Honey-Boo Boo, Duck Dynasty, Jersey Shore, etc. I feel the programs demean people, and exploit human failure in a cruel and sadistic way.

      9. Do you think TV has the ability to teach us? Especially for people who don’t go to movies much, can watching certain shows open our minds to things we otherwise wouldn’t know about?
Yes, I feel that some shows induce stimulating thoughts and questions that can leave you pondering about the universe for days, but also that it can be destructive to human perception. How far will we sink, laughing at the expense of another, dehumanizing people, and encouraging them that acting in such a way is “funny”.

      10. If you could meet any character from TV, who would it be and why? (Notice we said character, not actor. Feel free to include one of those, too, if you want!)
Oh this is a tough choice, I should like to meet the Doctor of Doctor Who, and travel in his TARDIS having adventures and the like and probably debate human vs. Time Lord philosophy. I would also like to meet Abby of NCIS and solve a mystery with her. If anime were to count as a television show, I would like to meet L of Death Note and help him save the world, probably while eating strawberries, and Kenshin Himura of Rurouni Kenshin and thank him for all that he did in the Japanese civil war, even though he lost and the burden of his actions he carries forever, I believe in what he was fighting for and I want him to know its alright.

    2. How many shows do you watch?

    1. On a scale of 1 to 10 (1 being not at all, 10 being tons), how much do you love TV? Why did you pick that number?

    4. I enjoy watching a few shows every once in a while, but otherwise I like to spend time doing other things. 🙂

    2. How many shows do you watch?

Three: Running Man. Grimm. Walking Dead.

    3. What is your favorite show that’s currently on TV? Favorite show of the past?

At the moment I love Walking Dead. 😉 In the past, I think Wipeout was my fav. I also loved Monk. Does Sherlock count? I watch Sherlock when it’s out, but that is BBC and a little different…

    4. What’s your preferred viewing method–do you watch shows live, DVR them, or watch them online?

I watch Running Man and Walking Dead online and Grimm live. I prefer online.

    5. Who do you watch TV with? Friends? Family?

Running Man has recently become a family event, actually. 🙂 It’s in Korean with English subtitles so everyone in my family can watch together! My Korean-speaking grandparents and English-speaking siblings and parents. I watch Grimm with my brother and Walking Dead with my cousin.

    6. Is there anything you’re not allowed to watch? Do you wish you could watch it or plan to when you’re older?

There are lots, but I don’t plan on watching them. There’s a reason why my parents are against it and I’m content with that.

    7. If you love TV, what do you love about it? If you’re not into it, what about it doesn’t appeal to you?

I just enjoy watching for a sort of “down time” in my life when I need a break. I’m not crazy about it because more than a few hours a week is a waste of time. (In my personal opinion, no offense to anyone who watches a lot!)

    8. Are there any shows you really don’t like? Why?

Not really. I haven’t seen anything that I “really don’t like” but I’m sure they’re out there somewhere.

    9. Do you think TV has the ability to teach us? Especially for people who don’t go to movies much, can watching certain shows open our minds to things we otherwise wouldn’t know about?

Not the shows I watch. 😉 But I think there are shows out there that are very informing.

    10. If you could meet any character from TV, who would it be and why? (Notice we said character, not actor. Feel free to include one of those, too, if you want!)

Sherlock Holmes. No question there. He is an extremely fascinating character.

    1. On a scale of 1 to 10 (1 being not at all, 10 being tons), how much do you love TV? Why did you pick that number?
    7
I’d have to say I REALLY enjoy watching good tv shows, but I don’t do it that often and can’t for long periods. I picked 7 because when I DO watch tv, it’s a very nice relaxing time for me (:

    2. How many shows do you watch?
up to 10 different ones, I guess.

    3. What is your favorite show that’s currently on TV? Favorite show of the past? Austin and ally, good luck charlie, Victorious. show of the past: sonny with a chance

    4. What’s your preferred viewing method–do you watch shows live, DVR them, or watch them online? dvr but mainly live

    5. Who do you watch TV with? Friends? Family? by myself or my sister. with friends is always fun, but rare.

    6. Is there anything you’re not allowed to watch? Do you wish you could watch it or plan to when you’re older? once upon a time. my mom still hasn’t checked into it. other shows I like I’m allowed to watch.

    7. If you love TV, what do you love about it? If you’re not into it, what about it doesn’t appeal to you?
I meet in the middle. I like the relaxation of it, the feel-good part, but I don’t like all the commercials >.<

    8. Are there any shows you really don’t like? Why?
dog with a blog is def one -_- it's so stupid. I don't like stupid/dirty shows, or ones that don't make you think.

    9. Do you think TV has the ability to teach us? Especially for people who don’t go to movies much, can watching certain shows open our minds to things we otherwise wouldn’t know about?
yeah. definitely. different cultures, things to buy, words to say, places to visit, etc.

    10. If you could meet any character from TV, who would it be and why? (Notice we said character, not actor. Feel free to include one of those, too, if you want!)
Austin from Austin and Ally because he seems really fun, and happy-hearted (and plays music, like me, of course), Teddy from Good Luck Charlie because she's really down to earth like me and also sings

    1. On a scale of 1 to 10 (1 being not at all, 10 being tons), how much do you love TV? Why did you pick that number?
*3 My family only watches movies on the weekend, if even then. Occasionally, us older children watch old TV shows on youtube.

    2. How many shows do you watch?
*4. Hogans heroes, MacGyver, Tom and Jerry, and Beverly Hillbillies.

    3. What is your favorite show that’s currently on TV? Favorite show of the past?
    *Tom and Jerry, MacGyver

    4. What’s your preferred viewing method–do you watch shows live, DVR them, or watch them online?
    *online

    *Family

    6. Is there anything you’re not allowed to watch? Do you wish you could watch it or plan to when you’re older?
*My family has not been prohibited to watch Harry Potter but we have been told why we don’t read it and I don’t want to watch it.

    7. If you love TV, what do you love about it? If you’re not into it, what about it doesn’t appeal to you?
TV doesn’t appeal to me because you don’t really get to know a person but I do enjoy when there is subtle messages that help me grow in maturity.

    8. Are there any shows you really don’t like? Why?
Indiana Jones; his motto seems to be “It’s okay to kill people and/or do(what I would call)inappropriate things to women so long the “good guys” win in the end” which I disagree with.

    9. Do you think TV has the ability to teach us? Especially for people who don’t go to movies much, can watching certain shows open our minds to things we otherwise wouldn’t know about?
Yes. Even if we really don’t kneed to know everything shows tell us.

    10. If you could meet any character from TV, who would it be and why? (Notice we said character, not actor. Feel free to include one of those, too, if you want!)
Character, Captain America: he’s got good morals and my favorite quote from him (In the Avengers)is, “I only know of one God, and I’m pretty sure he doesn’t dress like that!”
Actress, Julie Andrews: I think she ha(d)(s) a beautiful voice and wish I could dance as well as she does!

    1. On a scale of 1 to 10 (1 being not at all, 10 being tons), how much do you love TV? Why did you pick that number?
5 cause i enjoy watching it when i relax. but other than that, i sometimes get bored watching it and i can go a good amount of time without needing to watch it.

    2. How many shows do you watch?
i probably keep up with and record 4 shows. others i just watch if nothing else is on tv or if i have nothing else to do.

    3. What is your favorite show that’s currently on TV? Favorite show of the past?
I really enjoy Downton Abbey and Pretty Little Liars, as well as Suits. Shows of the past that i loved were Lizzie McGuire, Boy Meets World.

    4. What’s your preferred viewing method–do you watch shows live, DVR them, or watch them online?
I like to DVR them so I can fast forward through commercials.

    5. Who do you watch TV with? Friends? Family?
Mainly my family, but my friends sometimes.

    6. Is there anything you’re not allowed to watch? Do you wish you could watch it or plan to when you’re older?
nope there is nothing I want to watch that my parents don’t want me watching.

    7. If you love TV, what do you love about it? If you’re not into it, what about it doesn’t appeal to you?
I enjoy following the stories of others and I’m interested to how things go for the characters I’ve invested myself in.
    8. Are there any shows you really don’t like? Why?
Secret Life of the American Teenager because I think it sends bad messages and has no real point. I also don’t see the point of Jersey Shore and I don’t watch it.

    9. Do you think TV has the ability to teach us? Especially for people who don’t go to movies much, can watching certain shows open our minds to things we otherwise wouldn’t know about?
Watching tv can definitely open you up to new ideas and experiences, both good and bad!

    10. If you could meet any character from TV, who would it be and why? (Notice we said character, not actor. Feel free to include one of those, too, if you want!)

    1. On a scale of 1 to 10 (1 being not at all, 10 being tons), how much do you love TV? Why did you pick that number?
All TV or just the shows i watch? for TV in general 7. There’s some good shows that give people a chance to share their talent and some shows where… well… that doesn’t really work out.
    2. How many shows do you watch?
mostly one: Doctor Who! however i tend to just zone in and out of whatever’s on the tele when my parents or sister are watching something.

    3. What is your favorite show that’s currently on TV? Favorite show of the past?

DOCTOR WHO and DOCTOR WHO 🙂

    4. What’s your preferred viewing method–do you watch shows live, DVR them, or watch them online?

Well, because Doctor Who is so expensive to buy and we don’t have cable (and live in the US so you need BBC America to watch it, which we don’t have) i rent on netflix
    5. Who do you watch TV with? Friends? Family?

well my family isn’t very interested in the show, they’ve watched a few episodes, but mostly i just watch it on our treadmill in the basement. other than that, all of the above for other shows.
    6. Is there anything you’re not allowed to watch? Do you wish you could watch it or plan to when you’re older?

adult shows, but i don’t necessarily want to watch them. When i’m older i might watch them, but i’ll probably just stick to classics and doctor who…
    7. If you love TV, what do you love about it? If you’re not into it, what about it doesn’t appeal to you?

I love a good plot and characters that you can relate to and stuff, something that can really sweep me away into an alternate place.
    8. Are there any shows you really don’t like? Why?

well, I dislike laugh tracks *shudders* and of course reality TV where there isn’t a plot.
    9. Do you think TV has the ability to teach us? Especially for people who don’t go to movies much, can watching certain shows open our minds to things we otherwise wouldn’t know about?

Well sure, if you watch the right shows they can be positive but with some shows.. just don’t watch them i suppose. But shows like Doctor who not only give you a fantastic plot and brilliant characters, but good messages of hope, courage, friendship, etc. it can be a very uplifting show.
    10. If you could meet any character from TV, who would it be and why? (Notice we said character, not actor. Feel free to include one of those, too, if you want!
ummm… THE DOCTOR! XD and for actor, whoever the actor playing the Doctor is!

    1. On a scale of 1 to 10 (1 being not at all, 10 being tons), how much do you love TV? Why did you pick that number?
Probably about 3. I don’t care about TV very much, because I can do so many great things with my life, and TV just isn’t that important in the scheme of things. However, it is a nice way to spend time with my grandmother, like my siblings and I do every Friday night. It is also nice for when your brain is just too tired to work on anything.
    2. How many shows do you watch?
I watch whatever my Grandma puts on, but the only shows that I make an effort to watch are:
    Get Smart
Doctor Who (I don’t watch this as often anymore)
    The Adventures of Tintin
    Studio C
    3. What is your favorite show that’s currently on TV? Favorite show of the past?
My favourite show that is currently on TV is Studio C, which is run on the BYUTV channel. It is funny, and wholesome as well.
My favourite show of the past is Get Smart. It is absolutely hilarious, and, like Studio C, is wholesome entertainment for everybody.
    4. What’s your preferred viewing method–do you watch shows live, DVR them, or watch them online?
Some shows I have on DVD, and some I watch online.
    5. Who do you watch TV with? Friends? Family?
I watch TV with my family, mostly, but sometimes by myself. I don’t want to waste time with my friends just watching a screen.
    6. Is there anything you’re not allowed to watch? Do you wish you could watch it or plan to when you’re older?
I am not allowed to watch anything that is the equivalent of an R-rated movie. I choose not to watch anything recommended for 14 and up, because I don’t feel like I need the sort of things they show on that sort of television show in my life.

    8. Are there any shows you really don’t like? Why?
I don’t like any soap operas, because they’re cheesy and most of the time are sexually immoral. I don’t like The View, because they are slightly inappropriate, and they argue most of the time. My brother calls them “Bickering Ladies”, because that’s pretty much all they do.
I also am undecided about Doctor Who. The older stuff is alright, but with the 11th Doctor, they started portraying beliefs that I don’t agree with, such as atheism, and homosexuality.
    9. Do you think TV has the ability to teach us? Especially for people who don’t go to movies much, can watching certain shows open our minds to things we otherwise wouldn’t know about?
I think it can sometimes, but that a library is a much more effective way, that grows your brain because you cna go back and read over and over again parts that you don’t understand.

    10. If you could meet any character from TV, who would it be and why? (Notice we said character, not actor. Feel free to include one of those, too, if you want!)
I would probably meet Jeff Corwin. Yes, he is a real person, but he is also in a TV show. I would meet him, because he is funny and intelligent.

    4. What’s your preferred viewing method–do you watch shows live, DVR them, or watch them online?

    5. Who do you watch TV with? Friends? Family?
I like to watch it by myself because other people are loud. But my family always watches Amazing Race together.
    6. Is there anything you’re not allowed to watch? Do you wish you could watch it or plan to when you’re older?
There are things I don’t watch because obviously they are bad and I don’t want to watch that.
    7. If you love TV, what do you love about it? If you’re not into it, what about it doesn’t appeal to you?
I love to just turn on the tv, relax, and forget about my own life for an hour. I love shows with a good story, that make me feel like I’m actually there.
    8. Are there any shows you really don’t like? Why?
Ew, I can’t stand some of the new kid shows like Adventure Time and Ant Farm. and I can’t stand shows like two and a half men. It makes me sad to think people actually watch that.
    9. Do you think TV has the ability to teach us? Especially for people who don’t go to movies much, can watching certain shows open our minds to things we otherwise wouldn’t know about? yeah definately. you’re experiencing a different life when you watch a show.

    10. If you could meet any character from TV, who would it be and why? (Notice we said character, not actor. Feel free to include one of those, too, if you want!)
I would meet Steve from Blues Clues cause him and his house are cool. It would be a fun time.

I love how people get to be random people on tv for other people.

Pretty Little Liars, Once Upon a Time, and Grimm because I think they’re just a little over the top and too dramatic.
