Survey: What Are Your Favorite TV Shows?

Our movie survey got more than 100 comments, so we think it’s safe to say that you love movies. (If you haven’t filled it out yet, go here!) Though TV and film are certainly different mediums, many people who love one at least appreciate the other, since they’re similar in many ways.

What we love about television is its ability to to stick around in our lives. No matter how much you love a movie character, you’ll only see their story for a couple of hours (or in the case of Harry Potter, like 19 hours–but still!). Some of the best TV shows last for five seasons or more, giving us years of quality time with characters’ lives and stories.

We’re interested to hear about YOUR favorite shows, characters, viewing habits and more!

Copy the questions below and paste them (along with your answers) in a comment.

    1. On a scale of 1 to 10 (1 being not at all, 10 being tons), how much do you love TV? Why did you pick that number?

    2. How many shows do you watch?

    3. What is your favorite show that’s currently on TV? Favorite show of the past?

    4. What’s your preferred viewing method–do you watch shows live, DVR them, or watch them online?

    5. Who do you watch TV with? Friends? Family?

    6. Is there anything you’re not allowed to watch? Do you wish you could watch it or plan to when you’re older?

    7. If you love TV, what do you love about it? If you’re not into it, what about it doesn’t appeal to you?

    8. Are there any shows you really don’t like? Why?

    9. Do you think TV has the ability to teach us? Especially for people who don’t go to movies much, can watching certain shows open our minds to things we otherwise wouldn’t know about?

    10. If you could meet any character from TV, who would it be and why? (Notice we said character, not actor. Feel free to include one of those, too, if you want!)

We can’t wait to hear all about your favorite shows!

    1. 1. Probably like a 5. I don’t need it but it is cool.
      2. 3 or 4. Sometimes I do different shows.
      3. Kickin’ It (disney show) is my favorite, my past one was Good Luck Charlie. (another disney show)
4.I watch all my shows on Netflix and/or Hulu
      5. Mostly my sisters.
      6. things with a lot of magic and anything that is over the top with the boyfriend-girlfriend thing.
      7. I like TV. But I don’t need it. I love disney shows because they are so stupid that I don’t have to think about them!
      8. I really don’t have one.
      9. It depends. If you watch the documentorys then yes! It can teach you.
      10. I would want to meet Kim Krawford (from Kickin’ It) and I would love to meet Demi Lovato!

    2. 1. On a scale of 1 to 10 (1 being not at all, 10 being tons), how much do you love TV? Why did you pick that number?
10, when i was younger and still now, i need an escape into fake and fantasy sometimes. I love fantasy and imagination. I love writing books too. It’s all about the fantasy.

      2. How many shows do you watch?
I’ve tried keeping count. At the current, there are maybe eight or more that I watch that are still on going. 🙂

      3. What is your favorite show that’s currently on TV? Favorite show of the past?
Oh that is SO hard. I love Bones, White Collar, Grimm (liking it less and less tho), Once Upon a Time, PSYCH, Dr who. Favorite from the past- Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel and Avatar the Last Airbender. I mean there is so much to love.

      4. What’s your preferred viewing method–do you watch shows live, DVR them, or watch them online?
Netflix and hulu. I’m not huge for TV because then I have to remember when its on. :p

      5. Who do you watch TV with? Friends? Family?
Eh, if I watch, it’s normally alone. My brother and I like watching dr who and psych together tho. 🙂

      6. Is there anything you’re not allowed to watch? Do you wish you could watch it or plan to when you’re older?
Well, I mean, I’m not over 18 and can’t watch adult shows. I dislike things that have graphic and even non graphic sex scenes. I like action shows best. 🙂 and comedies too. Big bang theory is an ok mix and not too graphic. I like that show but didn’t mention it before.

      7. If you love TV, what do you love about it? If you’re not into it, what about it doesn’t appeal to you?
I kind of already mentioned above that I like the fantasy.

      8. Are there any shows you really don’t like? Why?
Er, Most of the shows on Cartoon Network at the moment, that channel has fallen sooo far. I also dislike cartoons like the Simpsons and other last night shows. Some shows can be super creepy too, like South Park and er I cant think of the other one that is like that show.. :p

      9. Do you think TV has the ability to teach us? Especially for people who don’t go to movies much, can watching certain shows open our minds to things we otherwise wouldn’t know about?
I think TV should be used for fantasy and books for knowledge, but I’m one of those crazy book lovers.

      10. If you could meet any character from TV, who would it be and why? (Notice we said character, not actor. Feel free to include one of those, too, if you want!)
hmmm. Most definitely Angel from buffy and angel. <3 :3 He's also Booth in Bones. <3 I love his nobility. I also love a multitude of other characters that are too many to name. 🙂

    3. 1. I would say between 5 and 7. Sometimes I really enjoy TV, and other times I think it’s kind of lame.

      2. I watch about 8 shows on a regular basis.

      3. My favorite current shows are “The Property Brothers”, “Buying and Selling”, “Love it or List It”, and “Good Eats”. My favorite past shows are “The Brady Bunch”, “Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman”, “Doc”, “Sue Thomas F.B.Eye”, and “Walker Texas Ranger.” Oh, almost forgot “Matlock” and Murder She Wrote”!

      4. I watch most shows live, and sometimes on the internet.

      5. Either by myself or with my family.

      6. I am not allowed to watch most current TV shows (Not counting HGTV and Food Network shows). I don’t really plan on ever watching them. Some I can’t watch anyway because of how late they come on at night.

      7. I like it because there are some really great older shows that have reruns on several channels, and some great shows on HGTV and Food Network. I don’t like TV because most of the current TV shows are trashy.

      8. I really don’t like “Pretty Little Liars”, and most other teen shows. PLL is a bad example for teens to be following. I really dislike Disney Channel shows too, because they are all teeny-bopper dramas with no meat and pretty much no morals, not to mention the fact that they are RIDICULOUSLY cheesy.

      9. I think shows like “The Bible” can really open our eyes. Though much of it is fictional, there is so much truth in it. And channels like the History Channel have some great educational shows that give us a glimpse into history. (This excludes shows like “Swamp People”)

      10. Uhhhh, I will name a few of the characters. Sue Thomas, from “Sue Thomas F.B.Eye”, Clint Cassidy and Tippy, from “Doc”, Michaela Quinn, Sully, Cloud Dancing, and Colleen, from “Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman”, and The Brady Family, from “The Brady Bunch.” I would also love to meet Drew and Johnathan Scott, who do the show called “The Property Brothers” on HGTV, and Alton Brown, who does “Good Eats” on Food Network!

    4. 1. On a scale of 1 to 10 (1 being not at all, 10 being tons), how much do you love TV? Why did you pick that number?
      8 I really like them.

      2. How many shows do you watch?
      Around 6.

      3. What is your favorite show that’s currently on TV? Favorite show of the past? Criminal Minds,Psych,CSI,Big Bang Theory,Person Of Interest, The Mentalist,. The old black & white Perry Masons were good.

      4. What’s your preferred viewing method–do you watch shows live, DVR them, or watch them online?
I watch them online cause i am usually busy when they’re airing.

      5. Who do you watch TV with? Friends? Family?
      I watch them by myself.

      6. Is there anything you’re not allowed to watch? Do you wish
you could watch it or plan to when you’re older?
I watch pretty much whatever I want to.

      7. If you love TV, what do you love about it? If you’re not into it, what about it doesn’t appeal to you?
I love the actors and actresses who bring it to life.

      8. Are there any shows you really don’t like? Why?
Flashpoint cause they have awful cheesy actors. Same goes for Without A Trace.

      9. Do you think TV has the ability to teach us? Especially for people who don’t go to movies much, can watching certain shows open our minds to things we otherwise wouldn’t know about?
      ^This question makes no sense.

      10. If you could meet any character from TV, who would it be and why? (Notice we said character, not actor. Feel free to include one of those, too, if you want!) Aj Cook, Paget Brewster, Thomas Gibson, Mackenzie Foy.

      7. If you love TV, what do you love about it? If you’re not into it, what about it doesn’t appeal to you?
I don’t like the fact that people feel TV has to have cussing, violence, and other innapropriate material. I’m discusted at how easy it is to find things I wouldn’t want my little siblings or cousins to watch.

      10. If you could meet any character from TV, who would it be and why? (Notice we said character, not actor. Feel free to include one of those, too, if you want!)

    12. 1. On a scale of 1 to 10 (1 being not at all, 10 being tons), how much do you love TV? Why did you pick that number?
Well I’m not really sure how to answer this, I really only like to watch tv if I’m watching it WITH someone else. Comedies are always funnier when you have someone to laugh with :

      2. How many shows do you watch?
I pretty much stick to the same 2 or 3 favorite shows.

      3. What is your favorite show that’s currently on TV? Favorite show of the past?
My family doesn’t have cable so I don’t watch current tv. My favorite shows are all from the past haha, The Andy Griffith Show and I Love Lucy or the best shows of all time <3 (also Little House on the Prairie and the Waltons)

      4. What’s your preferred viewing method–do you watch shows live, DVR them, or watch them online? My favorite shows are all from before I was born lol so I watch them on dvd.

      5. Who do you watch TV with? Friends? Family?
      Family 🙂

      6. Is there anything you’re not allowed to watch? Do you wish you could watch it or plan to when you’re older?
I don't watch anything that I wouldn't feel comfortable watching if Jesus was sitting right next to me (which he is 😉 haha)

      7. If you love TV, what do you love about it? If you’re not into it, what about it doesn’t appeal to you?
Well, I don't necessarily "love" tv, I love the characters brought to life in classics like The Andy Griffith Show.

      8. Are there any shows you really don’t like? Why?
Unfortunately there's too many to list, because tv has gotten so vulgar these days :/

      9. Do you think TV has the ability to teach us? Especially for people who don’t go to movies much, can watching certain shows open our minds to things we otherwise wouldn’t know about?
Yes, like I'm glad that the new "the Bible" series is showing on the history channel, a lot of people who wouldn't read to Bible might actually watch and learn 🙂

      10. If you could meet any character from TV, who would it be and why? (Notice we said character, not actor. Feel free to include one of those, too, if you want!)
Anyone from my favorite shows listed above! 🙂

      • I totally am with you on liking all shows from the past…I really love the waltons, have every season from 1-9 plus the special addition discs:)!!! Haha think I’m obsessed:)!! haha:)!

    13. 1. 3 or 4. I really don’t watch tv because my parents decided that tv was taking away from our family time. If I do, its on the internet.

      2. Maybe 10 total, but like 80% of them are Disney shows lol

      3. I like the Carrie Diaries. And my favorite past show was Melissa & Joey.

      4. Online, like Netflix or comcast or something.

      5. By myself or with my younger siblings (that means the Disney shows)

      6. Anything that my parent’s don’t approve of, like occultic shows, etc.

      7. Its whatever. I try not to make watching tv too important, because at one point it was all I did in my free time.

      8. I think shows like the Bachelor and all those surviver shows are kinda annoying. I don’t watch them because they are so focused on relationships and on winning instead of teamwork and stuff.

      9. Yes.

      10. I’d like to meet the actress who plays Carrie.

      🙂

    14. 1. On a scale of 1 to 10 (1 being not at all, 10 being tons), how much do you love TV? Why did you pick that number?

Probably like a 2 or 3. I enjoy it, but I’m not a big TV watcher and I prefer movies anyway.

      2. How many shows do you watch?

I watch one show once a week (on Netflix). In addition, I watch other shows off of Netflix and on DVD sometimes, but not on a set schedule. I have lots of shows I enjoy, but most of them I don’t watch real often.

      3. What is your favorite show that’s currently on TV? Favorite show of the past?

Downton Abbey is the only show I watch that’s currently on TV. As far as past shows, it’s a tie between my two favorites–“Murder, She Wrote” and “Hogan’s Heroes”

      4. What’s your preferred viewing method–do you watch shows live, DVR them, or watch them online?

I watch everything on Netflix, other than Hogan’s Heroes, which I have on DVD.

      5. Who do you watch TV with? Friends? Family?

I always watch TV with my family.

      6. Is there anything you’re not allowed to watch? Do you wish you could watch it or plan to when you’re older?

I can’t think of anything. I’m sure there’s shows that if I wanted to watch them, I wouldn’t be allowed to, but it’s never really come up. Besides, I’m the movie police in my family who is always deciding whether or not stuff’s appropriate. 🙂

      7. If you love TV, what do you love about it? If you’re not into it, what about it doesn’t appeal to you?

I enjoy relaxing to watch a good mystery or a funny show.

      8. Are there any shows you really don’t like? Why?

I’m sure there are, but if I don’t like it, it gets removed from the Netflix queue and I forget about it. 🙂

      9. Do you think TV has the ability to teach us? Especially for people who don’t go to movies much, can watching certain shows open our minds to things we otherwise wouldn’t know about?

I don’t know. I watch TV to be entertained and relaxed, not taught. 🙂

      10. If you could meet any character from TV, who would it be and why? (Notice we said character, not actor. Feel free to include one of those, too, if you want!)

I think it would be cool to meet Jessica Fletcher (from Murder, She Wrote).

    15. 1. On a scale of 1 to 10 (1 being not at all, 10 being tons), how much do you love TV? Why did you pick that number? I dunno. Like 7, maybe?

      2. How many shows do you watch? ALL THE SHOWS! Nah, I watch about five regularly…Dance Moms, Clean House, Big Bang Theory, Mystery Science Theater 3000, The Office…Just started with Parks and Recreation, and I should probably get back into Smallville. It’s freaking hilarious.

      3. What is your favorite show that’s currently on TV? Favorite show of the past? The Big Bang Theory. It’s glorious. For older shows, I really love Full House, Bewitched, and…Drake and Josh. 😛

      4. What’s your preferred viewing method–do you watch shows live, DVR them, or watch them online? Online. Netflix and Amazon Prime. We don’t even have satellite or cable.

      5. Who do you watch TV with? Friends? Family? Mah husband, and my siblings if they’re over.

      6. Is there anything you’re not allowed to watch? Do you wish you could watch it or plan to when you’re older? lololololol, I’m 20. I watch what I want. Which is not scary things, I cannot tolerate scary things.

      7. If you love TV, what do you love about it? If you’re not into it, what about it doesn’t appeal to you? It’s funny and entertaining, so I watch it.

      8. Are there any shows you really don’t like? Why? Scary ones. Because they’re scary. O.o
I WILL freak out over blood, hospitals, and people being violently ripped apart. It varies. Like, I didn’t like all the close up bullet wounds in Firefly, but that dude digging around in that blue opera alien chick in the Fifth Element was fine.

      9. Do you think TV has the ability to teach us? Especially for people who don’t go to movies much, can watching certain shows open our minds to things we otherwise wouldn’t know about? Sure. Like from Date Night, I learned not to steal other people’s reservations. From Nancy Drew, I learned how to bribe people with baked goods. From The Big Bang Theory, I learned about flags, from Sheldon Cooper’s “Fun with Flags”. From Clean House, I am learning how to organize mayhem and foolishness.

      10. If you could meet any character from TV, who would it be and why? (Notice we said character, not actor. Feel free to include one of those, too, if you want!) Sheldon Cooper, I would love to mess with him. Clark Kent, because he’s beautiful. And Tom Welling, because he’s beautiful.

      It depends on the show.

      I usually ask permission first.

      7. If you love TV, what do you love about it? If you’re not into it, what about it doesn’t appeal to you?
It’s entertaining, but nothing like books or some movies. But again, it depends on the show.

      8. Are there any shows you really don’t like? Why?
Current Disney channel shows besides Phineas and Ferb… I just think that channel went downhill…

      9. Do you think TV has the ability to teach us? Especially for people who don’t go to movies much, can watching certain shows open our minds to things we otherwise wouldn’t know about?
I think so. Some shows are deeper than others.

      10. If you could meet any character from TV, who would it be and why? (Notice we said character, not actor. Feel free to include one of those, too, if you want!)
Hmm. Well, I have yet to watch the show, but I’m reading the Game of Thrones books, so Jon Snow.

      7. If you love TV, what do you love about it? If you’re not into it, what about it doesn’t appeal to you? I like TV b/c of those vast genres of shows for all audiences and ages. But, I don’t like that some “brain-cell-killing” shows are out there…like the ones in my next answer.

      8. Are there any shows you really don’t like? Why? “Here Comes Honey Boo-Boo,” “Jersey Shore,” and any of the Kardashian shows.

      9. Do you think TV has the ability to teach us? Especially for people who don’t go to movies much, can watching certain shows open our minds to things we otherwise wouldn’t know about? Yes it can teach us things we never knew, like how I’ve learned stuff about animals on Animal Planet that I hadn’t known before. Same with the History Channel-I wouldn’t be surprised if it replaced history classes in school some day! 😉

      10. If you could meet any character from TV, who would it be and why? (Notice we said character, not actor. Feel free to include one of those, too, if you want!) Characters: Jane Quimby from “Jane By Design,” Nick Burkhardt from “Grimm,” Kurt Hummel from “Glee,” and Rocky Blue and Cece Jones from “Shake It Up.” I’d love to meet the actors/actresses who play those characters, too!

      8. Are there any shows you really don’t like? Why? I don’t like most shows except for Disney shows and a few other shows. I really don’t like shows where the men are goofy and immature and where there is a lot of sexual perversion(which is most shows now, unfortunately)
      9. Do you think TV has the ability to teach us? I think the history shows and animal planet can teach us but even those are from the evolutionist worldview. There are very few shows that actually teach us anything but about sex and how to be stupid.
      10. If you could meet any character from TV, who would it be and why? Probably, Jack Bauer from 24 because he is a hero and he is an honorable man.

My favorite character/actor are ones who live life to the full and are random like Mabel from Gravity Falls(Disney Channel) and Luna Lovegood (Evanna Lynch) from Harry Potter.

2, around three or four, SpongeBob, and Duck Dynasty, maybe a few others.
      3, Hannah Montana!
4, I watch them on my TV or Netflix.
5, Friends and Family! I love watching TV with my family better though.
6, My parents let me watch what I want, I just choose not to watch all the bad things, they’re a waste of time.
7, Just for the fun, or watching Sports.
8, Honey Boo-Boo, I’m sorry but she creeps me out a little bit.
9, Yes, PBS KIDS FOREVER!!! 😀
10, Spongebob, or Sadie from Duck Dynasty. 😀

    24. 1. On a scale of 1 to 10 (1 being not at all, 10 being tons), how much do you love TV? Why did you pick that number?

I’d say a 6-7 because i love to watch tv, but i almost never have time to do so due to school and homework, and also I can’t sit in front of a tv for more than 2 hours straight without getting bored.

      2. How many shows do you watch?

I’d probably say about 10 shows, but really i’m only watching like 3-4 because i never have time to catch up with them every week.

      3. What is your favorite show that’s currently on TV? Favorite show of the past?

My favorite show right now would probably be touch. I love it because its about a kid who sees patterns and numbers and ratios, which i find extremely interesting and intense. When I was little, I used to LOVE Hannah Montana, and her shoes were my favorites of all time 😛 haha!

      4. What’s your preferred viewing method–do you watch shows live, DVR them, or watch them online?

If they’re shows like singing competitions, i’d prefer to watch them live, but since like i said, I barely have time to watch tv, 99% of the shows watched are in my dvr. I used to watch it online, but after the SOPA act, finding good sites with all the shows are really hard to find.

      5. Who do you watch TV with? Friends? Family?

I watch tv either by myself or with my brother.

      6. Is there anything you’re not allowed to watch? Do you wish you could watch it or plan to when you’re older?

Well, my parents banned me from watching the Ellen Show because all they did was talk about celebrities and they believed that I shouldn’t fill my head up with that stuff. Honestly, I dont agree with them, and when I get older I kinda plan on seeing it i dont know :/

      7. If you love TV, what do you love about it? If you’re not into it, what about it doesn’t appeal to you?

I like it because some shows get really intense, and when it ends, you always have something to look forward to the next day or the next week.

      8. Are there any shows you really don’t like? Why?

I really don’t like shows like the simpsons, or south park. I find them really offensive, and i’m pretty sure they often make a lot of religious, and explicit jokes.

      9. Do you think TV has the ability to teach us? Especially for people who don’t go to movies much, can watching certain shows open our minds to things we otherwise wouldn’t know about?

I think TV does have an influence, and if you watch the right shows, such as educational ones, then yes, I believe it can open our minds to things we wouldn’t know about. But, if you watch soap operas, or ones that involve drama 24/7, then it would only be teaching us a wrong message.

      10. If you could meet any character from TV, who would it be and why? (Notice we said character, not actor. Feel free to include one of those, too, if you want!)

I would love to meet the pretty little liars group, such as Toby, Aria, Spencer, Hannah, and Emily, etc. They seem like a fun people and I always imagined what it would be like to meet them or be friends with people like them 🙂

      Family

      6. Is there anything you’re not allowed to watch? Do you wish you could watch it or plan to when you’re older?
Everything I’m not allowed to watch, I’m not interested in anyway, so it’s not a big deal.

      7. If you love TV, what do you love about it? If you’re not into it, what about it doesn’t appeal to you?
I’m not super into it, but I do enjoy it when I’m just relaxing and have nothing else to do.

      8. Are there any shows you really don’t like? Why?
I think the reality shows are getting more explicit, so I try not to watch too many of those.

      9. Do you think TV has the ability to teach us? Especially for people who don’t go to movies much, can watching certain shows open our minds to things we otherwise wouldn’t know about?
Yeah, in some ways, I guess.

      10. If you could meet any character from TV, who would it be and why? (Notice we said character, not actor. Feel free to include one of those, too, if you want!)
      Character – Abby from NCIS

    26. 1. On a scale of 1 to 10 (1 being not at all, 10 being tons), how much do you love TV? Why did you pick that number?

8 because you get to relax and get a laugh.

      2. How many shows do you watch?

      I watch like 5-10

      3. What is your favorite show that’s currently on TV? Favorite show of the past?

it used to be H2O, but now it’s Reba

      4. What’s your preferred viewing method–do you watch shows live, DVR them, or watch them online?

      Live or Recorded

      5. Who do you watch TV with? Friends? Family?

      Myself, friends, family

      6. Is there anything you’re not allowed to watch? Do you wish you could watch it or plan to when you’re older?

Glee, Switched at birth, and Bunheads

      7. If you love TV, what do you love about it? If you’re not into it, what about it doesn’t appeal to you?

I love how I can do what i want and watch what i want when i want

      8. Are there any shows you really don’t like? Why?

i don’t like Avatar the last Airbender because my little sis watches the series all the time. this is her 5th time watching the series

      9. Do you think TV has the ability to teach us? Especially for people who don’t go to movies much, can watching certain shows open our minds to things we otherwise wouldn’t know about?

I think some shows do, and yes, we can learn things. Look at the little kid shows like Dora the Explorer

      10. If you could meet any character from TV, who would it be and why? (Notice we said character, not actor. Feel free to include one of those, too, if you want!)

I would want to meet Cookie Monster from sesame street or Katara from Avatar

    27. 1. 8 because it’s a fun way to entertain yourself and an easy way to connect with people and family. It can stir up conversations as well. But I don’t want TV all that much, I personally prefer the internet. Also it can make my (in a way) not-as-exciting life more interesting by watching lives that are crazy and I will never want to live myself.

      2. Around 6? 7?

      3. Family Fued, Betty White’s Off Her Rockers, The Vampire Diaries, Glee, Good Luck Charlie. My past favorite shows are still my favorite, or the series ended because they are Nickolodean or disney shows. Haha.

      4. DVR so I can skip commercials, live if it’s not a show I’m obsessed with like watching with family or for sports, online for shows I like to keep up with but would rather watch on my schedule.

      5. Family or by myself if watching online. Sometimes I like to watch certain TV shows by myself.

      6. I’m allowed to watch what I want, but I think I am mature enough to make these decisions for myself, being 17.

      7. I love the laughs it can bring, how it can give you things to talk about with friends or family (especially for game shows, when the family can play along with the show). I also love when a TV show can stir up my emotions and just give me so many emotions that I don’t know what to do with myself, like The Vampire Diaries. The teasing romance haha.

      8. I have tried watching some TV shows but got turned off by them, if there is too much sex, violence, or useless crap. Like Pretty Little Liars, it just doesn’t go anywhere. They never answer any of the conflicts and introduces so many things without answering any of it that I doubt even the script writers know what they are doing.

      9. I think it can allow us to be more understanding and open-minded about problems people may deal with. I think it can teach us lessons before making mistakes, and maybe teach us a bit about ourselves and where we stand on certain issues. But I also think, often times, actually most of the time, many TV shows can have a negative affect on ourselves and tempt us to do bad things and make certain unchristian lifestyles seem ok.

      10. I don’t know..

    28. 1. On a scale of 1 to 10 (1 being not at all, 10 being tons), how much do you love TV? Why did you pick that number?
      7…BECAUSE I CAN JUST SIT AND RELAX…MINDLESS ENTERTAINMENT…KINDA SAD ISN’T IT.

      2. How many shows do you watch?
OH MY GOSH I CAN’T EVEN BEGIN TO COUNT. PROBABLY 5 I WATCH CONSISTENTLY.

      3. What is your favorite show that’s currently on TV? Favorite show of the past?
HAWAII FIVE-0. THE WALTON’S, SAVED BY THE BELL, ADAM-12, EMERGENCY, MAGNUM P.I., MACGYVER, THE LIST GOES ON.

      4. What’s your preferred viewing method–do you watch shows live, DVR them, or watch them online?
LIKE TO WATCH THEM LIVE, BUT THAT’S A RARE TREAT BECAUSE MY FAMILY DOESN’T HAVE CABLE, SO I USUALLY JUST WATCH THEM WHEN NETFLIX/YOU-TUBE CAN PROVIDE:).

      5. Who do you watch TV with? Friends? Family?
      FRIENDS AND FAMILY:)!!!

      6. Is there anything you’re not allowed to watch? Do you wish you could watch it or plan to when you’re older?
YES, BUT I REALLY DON’T WANT TO WATCH ONES I CAN’T SEE. NOT REALLY ANYTHING I WANT TO SEE WHEN I’M OLDER. IF I CAN’T WATCH IT NOW AT 17 I PROBABLY SHOULDN’T WATCH IT AT ALL.

      7. If you love TV, what do you love about it? If you’re not into it, what about it doesn’t appeal to you?
BECAUSE I CAN RELAX, AND LAUGH, AND NOT REALLY HAVE TO PUT ANY EFFORT…VERY PITIFUL REASON, ESPECIALLY SINCE TV CAN’T LOVE ME BACK.

      8. Are there any shows you really don’t like? Why?
MOST MODERN DAY SHOWS. BECAUSE THEY ARE MOSTLY (MIND YOU NOT ALL) FULL OF FOUL LANGUAGE, VIOLENCE (I PERSONALLY JUST CAN’T HANDLE THAT), AND SEXUAL CRAP.

      9. Do you think TV has the ability to teach us? Especially for people who don’t go to movies much, can watching certain shows open our minds to things we otherwise wouldn’t know about?
YES I STRONGLY BELIEVE THIS, AND SOMETIMES WE DON’T LEARN GOOD THINGS.

      10. If you could meet any character from TV, who would it be and why? (Notice we said character, not actor. Feel free to include one of those, too, if you want!)
MODERN DAY – DANNY WILLIAMS FROM HAWAII FIVE-0.
OLDER SHOWS – JOHN GAGE FROM EMERGENCY, ALL THE KIDS FROM SAVED BY THE BELL, ALL THE WALTONS:).
ACTORS/ACTRESSES – KIRK CAMERON, JENNIFER LAWRENCE, CHRIS EVENS, CHRIS HEMSWORTH, JOSH HUTCHERSON.

    29. 1. On a scale of 1 to 10 (1 being not at all, 10 being tons), how much do you love TV? Why did you pick that number?
      — Probably about a three. I picked three because most TV shows nowadays just stink. Minimal plot, bad acting, bad theatrics, etc. Films on the other hand, I LOVE.

      2. How many shows do you watch?
      — We don’t have any television channels, so the only time we watch TV shows are on DVD or at our grandparents house. AKA not that much.

      3. What is your favorite show that’s currently on TV? Favorite show of the past?
      — By ‘currently running’ I’m assuming you mean churning out new shows. Probably, out of those, Psych. I love Sherlock too, although they’re in a break between seasons right now. I’m a huge fan of Monk and Chuck as well, and some older ones like Remington Steele, Little House on the Prairie, The Andy Griffith Show, I Love Lucy, etc.

      4. What’s your preferred viewing method–do you watch shows live, DVR them, or watch them online?
      — Like I said, we don’t get ANY TV channels, so we either watch them live at our grandparents house or watch them when they come out out on DVD.

      5. Who do you watch TV with? Friends? Family?
      — Mostly my family, although sometimes with my friends as well.

      6. Is there anything you’re not allowed to watch? Do you wish you could watch it or plan to when you’re older?
      — Um, not really. I used to not be allowed to watch House and wanted to watch that, but I’m pretty sure I’m allowed now.

      7. If you love TV, what do you love about it? If you’re not into it, what about it doesn’t appeal to you?
      — I don’t like how idiotic or totally inappropriate most shows right now are. They make me feel like I’ve gotten dumber by watching them! Like anything Disney, for instance. Ick.

      8. Are there any shows you really don’t like? Why?
      — Like I said, pretty much anything Disney. I’m not into Pretty Little Liars, Secret Life of an American Teenager, or stuff like that. It just seems so shallow.

      9. Do you think TV has the ability to teach us? Especially for people who don’t go to movies much, can watching certain shows open our minds to things we otherwise wouldn’t know about?
      — It’s interesting to see how low our society has sunk. Disney churns out stupid kid’s shows all the time. If there weren’t a heaven, Walt Disney would be rolling in his grave right now. I think it can teach us a lot about our society.

      10. If you could meet any character from TV, who would it be and why? (Notice we said character, not actor. Feel free to include one of those, too, if you want!)
      — It would be so cool to meet John Watson from Sherlock, or even Sherlock Holmes himself. I’ve been reading Sherlock Holmes for a long time, and I love what they did with those characters!

    30. mainly the only thing I watch on tv is Doctor Who and Avatar the Last Airbender~ cause the channels I used to watch have fallen so far…like Mikiki said, cartoon network has fallen far~ my little brother watches tv all the time and some of the cartoon network shows on there I don’t believe kids his age shouldn’t be watching

but eh thats only my opinion

    31. 1. 6. It’s a nice break from school and other tiring stuff. But I still prefer a good book…

      2. Around 5 or 6.

      3. My favorite show would have to be Doctor Who.

      4. Netflix. We don’t have TV.

      5. Either my family or my cat. Sometimes cats.

      6. Not really.

      7. I like to be entertained. Like, I watch Psych so that I have something to laugh about all day.

      8. Stuff like Jersey Shore or other reality TV. What’s so interesting about watching people ruin their lives? And a lot of these shows are trying to make something out of nothing. I’m just not interested.

      9. It could. If you have an open mind.

      10. The Doctor! Or Merlin. Or Shawn Spencer and John Jacob Jingly Schmidt. Or Sherlock. Or Rumpelstiltskin.

    32. 1. On a scale of 1 to 10 (1 being not at all, 10 being tons), how much do you love TV? Why did you pick that number?

3 lol I dont watch much. Too much diry stuff. XP

      2. How many shows do you watch?

American Idol, some cooking and home decorating shows, Phineas and Ferb, and Korean dramas.

      3. What is your favorite show that’s currently on TV? Favorite show of the past?

      Currently? Uhh… dunno… nothing.
      Past? Boys Over Flowers!!!

      4. What’s your preferred viewing method–do you watch shows live, DVR them, or watch them online?

Online cuz thats the only way I get Korean dramas.

      5. Who do you watch TV with? Friends? Family?

      WHo ever. lol

      6. Is there anything you’re not allowed to watch? Do you wish you could watch it or plan to when you’re older?

Honestly yes, ALOT of stuff I dont watch. And I thought I wanted to watch but when I moved out and tried, they were shockingly dirty and I stopped right away. 😛

      7. If you love TV, what do you love about it? If you’re not into it, what about it doesn’t appeal to you?

Im not really into it cuz like I said I dont watch much, but I do love korean dramas! They are soo good and the guys are soo hot!

      8. Are there any shows you really don’t like? Why?

      any dirty ones.

      9. Do you think TV has the ability to teach us? Especially for people who don’t go to movies much, can watching certain shows open our minds to things we otherwise wouldn’t know about?

      Totally. Mostly bad stuff.

      10. If you could meet any character from TV, who would it be and why?

      THE F4!!!! HOLLA! lol

    33. 1. Around a 4, because I never actually watch things on tv, but once or twice a week I’ll watch a few shows online. I enjoy the occasional entertainment, but it’s never a huge priority for me.

      2. I only watch 2 or 3 shows, because I only like to watch something that I really enjoy, not just to waste my time.

      3. I currently love Community and Psych (they are both hilarious and genius), but one of my old favorite shows was called the Sing Off. It was an a cappella singing competition, but The Voice basically took its place.

      4. Online. I never want to center my schedule on a tv program, so I’ll watch it online in my own free time.

      5. I usually watch tv shows with my sister, and once in a while one of my friends.

      6. My parents trust my own discretion, so I’m not specifically banned from watching anything.

      7. I like being able to follow the progressive story-lines and character development of a show, but I also don’t want to waste my time watching something stupid. So I really only watch things that I genuinely enjoy.

      8. I don’t like most reality shows because I think that they just ruin the person’s life, and are not like reality at all. They also give people false expectations of how to live, and people start pursuing the wrong goals in life.

      9. Tv most definitely can affect us. What you put into your mind starts to show in your life, so you have to be careful about what you watch. If you submerge yourself with immoral things, even if you think that you won’t do the same thing, it buries itself in your mind and can change how you think. So yeah, basically you should be aware of what you watch, and if you don’t think what they’re doing on a show is good, then you shouldn’t be watching it. Tv can send positive messages too, but I’ve found that most of the shows these days don’t heavily promote those kind of message as much as they could. Maybe kids shows do, like Disney and Nick, but I haven’t watched those in a while.

      10. If I could only meet one character, I would choose Abed from Community because he is awesome in his own special way, but I’d really want to meet the whole study group from Community because they just complete each other as a group, rather than as individuals.

    34. 1. On a scale of 1 to 10 (1 being not at all, 10 being tons), how much do you love TV? Why did you pick that number? 7. I watch a couple hours of tv a day

      2. How many shows do you watch?
Depends on what on that day

NCIS and The Mentalist; the Brady Bunch and The Waltons
      4. What’s your preferred viewing method–do you watch shows live, DVR them, or watch them online?
      Live/ on tv
      5. Who do you watch TV with? Friends? Family?
      Family
      6. Is there anything you’re not allowed to watch? Do you wish you could watch it or plan to when you’re older?
Yes I’m not allowed to watch certain shows. I probably won’t watch them when I’m older since most of them don’t honor God
      7. If you love TV, what do you love about it? If you’re not into it, what about it doesn’t appeal to you?
I love getting into shows and following the progression of the characters in the story
      8. Are there any shows you really don’t like? Why?
American Pickers. It is really boring. They do the same thing. On every episode you can guarantee that they pick at least 2 signs
      9. Do you think TV has the ability to teach us? Especially for people who don’t go to movies much, can watching certain shows open our minds to things we otherwise wouldn’t know about?
Yes. If you watch the right shows
      10. If you could meet any character from TV, who would it be and why? (Notice we said character, not actor. Feel free to include one of those, too, if you want!)

      8. Are there any shows you really don’t like? Why I don’t like family guy or any of the adult cartoons that are stupid, immature, and inappropediate. Any Tv show really on Mtv.Becuase there a bad influence for tenagers.

      9. Do you think TV has the ability to teach us? Especially for people who don’t go to movies much, can watching certain shows open our minds to things we otherwise wouldn’t know about? There are a lot of Tv show that can teach you things. Like cooking shows.

      10. If you could meet any character from TV, who would it be and why? (Notice we said character, not actor. Feel free to include one of those, too, if you want!) Hm… 5 or 6 ish

      3. What is your favorite show that’s currently on TV? Favorite show of the past?
Favorite Current Shows: Doctor Who <3 all time fave! Then Pretty Little Liars and Lost (which isn't current, but it's not ancient either). Monk, How I Met Your Mother and I plan on watching The Walking Dead.

      6. Is there anything you’re not allowed to watch? Do you wish you could watch it or plan to when you’re older?
Not really. I'd just prefer NOT to watch some of the stuff.

      7. If you love TV, what do you love about it? If you’re not into it, what about it doesn’t appeal to you?
I like the fact that you don't need to think.

      8. Are there any shows you really don’t like? Why?
The new Disney shows. The characters are all the same and lack depth to me. And those really slap-stick or tons of boring sexual humor. I'm more into smart humor.

      9. Do you think TV has the ability to teach us? Especially for people who don’t go to movies much, can watching certain shows open our minds to things we otherwise wouldn’t know about?
Yeah, I think so. It could also help people understand another person's point of view. Documentaries can do that, and while most people think "ugh boring", they really aren't. You just have to find a good one.

      10. If you could meet any character from TV, who would it be and why? (Notice we said character, not actor. Feel free to include one of those, too, if you want!)
Matt Smith, the Eleventh Doctor! And David Tennant, the Tenth Doctor. And Charlie from Lost.

    37. 1. On a scale of 1 to 10 (1 being not at all, 10 being tons), how much do you love TV? Why did you pick that number? um… I’d have to go with like 6, my family spends a lot of time together because of movies so that’s a big reason. Otherwise I just like seeing characters mature and grow.
      2. How many shows do you watch? um… dunno, I’ve watched a bunch of different anime’s, Fairy Tail, Inuyasha, Bleach. But I also like stuff like Sherlock, Bones, and Doctor Who. At the moment I’m only currently watching one or two anime’s and like other show.

      4. What’s your preferred viewing method–do you watch shows live, DVR them, or watch them online? Online. Always.
      5. Who do you watch TV with? Friends? Family? Usually family, but I watch stuff alone a lot.
      6. Is there anything you’re not allowed to watch? Do you wish you could watch it or plan to when you’re older? Really so long as I clear it with my parents I’m allowed to watch anything. There is a lot I personally *won’t* watch, like horror, shows that are extremely inclined toward sexual activity, and anything with language that is more than mild.
      7. If you love TV, what do you love about it? If you’re not into it, what about it doesn’t appeal to you? I like it ’cause you can watch people’s lives change and how they change to fit the problems that come up. I like seeing people triumph over problems.
      8. Are there any shows you really don’t like? Why? I honestly cannot stand most Disney shows, they mostly have very bad morals (like stupid fathers, disobeying parents, etc.) and the kids are really dumb in them.
      9. Do you think TV has the ability to teach us? Especially for people who don’t go to movies much, can watching certain shows open our minds to things we otherwise wouldn’t know about? Definitly! It can change the way you think, how you act, the way you view situations. it can change a lot about you and the way you live.
      10. If you could meet any character from TV, who would it be and why? (Notice we said character, not actor. Feel free to include one of those, too, if you want!) Uuuuummmmm…… idk… I’d like to meet Merlin from the show (Yup, you guessed it) Merlin. I’d want to tell him about Christ and get him to stop using magic. I’d also like to meet Orlando Bloom ’cause he’s really cool!

    38. 1. On a scale of 1 to 10 (1 being not at all, 10 being tons), how much do you love TV? Why did you pick that number?
Uhm, about 4. Tv shows are cool.

      2. How many shows do you watch?
      About 6, 7, 8, I don’t know!

      3. What is your favorite show that’s currently on TV? Favorite show of the past?
Deception, is like, AMAZING. I used to watch The Gates, but they stopped it.

      4. What’s your preferred viewing method–do you watch shows live, DVR them, or watch them online?
I either DVR them or watch online. Or live (I always watch Deception live)

      5. Who do you watch TV with? Friends? Family?
      Mostly with my sister.

      6. Is there anything you’re not allowed to watch? Do you wish you could watch it or plan to when you’re older?
My parents haven’t actually banned certain shows but they definitely wouldn’t want me watching TV-MA shows. But as far as outright banned a certain show, no.

      7. If you love TV, what do you love about it? If you’re not into it, what about it doesn’t appeal to you?
I don’t LOVE it but I don’t DISLIKE it. It’s merely a way to be entertained and pass free time.

      8. Are there any shows you really don’t like? Why?
Hmm, not really. I don’t like shows that make fun of others (like when South Park mocked the Jonas Brothers). But a particular show I just CANNOT stand? Nothing I can think of.

      9. Do you think TV has the ability to teach us? Especially for people who don’t go to movies much, can watching certain shows open our minds to things we otherwise wouldn’t know about?
Most definitely. TV (especially the History Channel) can teach A LOT.

      10. If you could meet any character from TV, who would it be and why? (Notice we said character, not actor. Feel free to include one of those, too, if you want!)
Julian Bowers off of Deception. Mmm Mmm MMM that boy is fine. xP

    39. 1. On a scale of 1 to 10 (1 being not at all, 10 being tons), how much do you love TV? Why did you pick that number? 5. I watch every Sunday with the Fam. but not much other than that.

      2. How many shows do you watch? Mostly just one. Occasionally I find a good one other than it, but not often.

      7. If you love TV, what do you love about it? If you’re not into it, what about it doesn’t appeal to you? I only love The Walking Dead, but other than that, it wastes my time.

      8. Are there any shows you really don’t like? Why? Family Guy, American Dad, Scooby Doo, horror shows, Pretty Little Liars, most ABC shows, almost all of Cartoon Network except for old Tom & Jerry cartoons and Looney Toons and such, and lots of others. Only reason is because of the big messages behind them or the content.

      9. Do you think TV has the ability to teach us? Especially for people who don’t go to movies much, can watching certain shows open our minds to things we otherwise wouldn’t know about? Absolutely. I think we need to be careful what we watch because it can honestly open doors into your life that need to stay shut. When I speak, I speak from experience in saying that bad movies don’t just affect the people who watch them, but anyone who enters the house or building. If you are curious, message me.

      10. If you could meet any character from TV, who would it be and why? (Notice we said character, not actor. Feel free to include one of those, too, if you want!) Lori Grimes from the Walking Dead because she is seriously the smartest character in the entire show.. Except maybe Rick at times.

    40. 1. On a scale of 1 to 10 (1 being not at all, 10 being tons), how much do you love TV? Why did you pick that number? Maybe like a 7.5 because I usually have too much homework to watch TV but when I do I watch a lot.

      5. Who do you watch TV with? Friends? Family? By myself or with family

      6. Is there anything you’re not allowed to watch? Do you wish you could watch it or plan to when you’re older? I’m not allowed to watch the normal teenage shows like Degrassi (sp?) or other shows like that. Movies I’m not allowed are like Harry Potter (actually going to ask to watch that rather soon) and Twilight (I really don’t care that much about that anyways) and If I can’t do the whole Harry Potter thing I plan on that when I’m older.

      7. If you love TV, what do you love about it? If you’re not into it, what about it doesn’t appeal to you? Things I love about TV are it helps me feel better sometimes. Like Doctor Who to me is very inspirational.

      8. Are there any shows you really don’t like? Why? Not really.

      9. Do you think TV has the ability to teach us? Especially for people who don’t go to movies much, can watching certain shows open our minds to things we otherwise wouldn’t know about? Oh definitely! Doctor Who is all about how important everyone is and how there are so many things to do in life.

      10. If you could meet any character from TV, who would it be and why? (Notice we said character, not actor. Feel free to include one of those, too, if you want!) I would meet the 1st, 4th, 9th, 10th, and 11th Doctors from Doctor Who and Katniss from The Hunger Games.

      Nope.

      7. If you love TV, what do you love about it? If you’re not into it, what about it doesn’t appeal to you?
I like Tv. It’s fun because you can watch shows, or even sermons. It’s pretty unique. But can be addicting.

      8. Are there any shows you really don’t like? Why?
Teen mom. I feel like it glorifies teen pregnancy.

      9. Do you think TV has the ability to teach us? Especially for people who don’t go to movies much, can watching certain shows open our minds to things we otherwise wouldn’t know about? Yes! It gives us different perspectives on life. It’s like reading, but visually acted out.

      10. If you could meet any character from TV, who would it be and why? (Notice we said character, not actor. Feel free to include one of those, too, if you want!)
Proabbly Stiles from teen wolf cuz he’s super cute haha

    43. 1. On a scale of 1 to 10 (1 being not at all, 10 being tons), how much do you love TV? Why did you pick that number?
7, because most of the shows on TV are total crap, but the ones that are good, are amazing.
      2. How many shows do you watch?
      4 or 5
      3. What is your favorite show that’s currently on TV? Favorite show of the past?
      Doctor Who and Psych
      4. What’s your preferred viewing method–do you watch shows live, DVR them, or watch them online?
My family only watches shows on Netflix.
      5. Who do you watch TV with? Friends? Family?
      Family most of the time.
      6. Is there anything you’re not allowed to watch? Do you wish you could watch it or plan to when you’re older?
Big Bang Theory, How I met your mother, and other shows like that. And yes I’d like to watch them when I’m older.
      7. If you love TV, what do you love about it? If you’re not into it, what about it doesn’t appeal to you?
I like the shows I like because they are funny, clever, and the characters are smart, and likable.
      8. Are there any shows you really don’t like? Why?
Anything and everything on Disney Channel. It’s all so dumbed down and stupid.
      9. Do you think TV has the ability to teach us? Especially for people who don’t go to movies much, can watching certain shows open our minds to things we otherwise wouldn’t know about?
Yes, it CAN teach and there are shows that do teach. But again, so many shows on today are just plain stupid.
      10. If you could meet any character from TV, who would it be and why? (Notice we said character, not actor. Feel free to include one of those, too, if you want!)
The Doctor!!!! Because he is amazinggg. Like I could go on forever and ever, he is so amazing, and I would go on advenures with him. All over time and space. And yeah. I love him <3

    44. 1. On a scale of 1 to 10 (1 being not at all, 10 being tons), how much do you love TV? Why did you pick that number?
7- I love TV, but I prefer movies

      2. How many shows do you watch?
About 4- Doctor Who, The Office, Big Bang Theory, and Dancing with the Stars

      3. What is your favorite show that’s currently on TV? Favorite show of the past?
My favorite shows right now are Doctor Who and The Office. I used to really like Sonny with a Chance.

      4. What’s your preferred viewing method–do you watch shows live, DVR them, or watch them online?
Netflix! I’m super busy so Netflix works with my schedule. Because of Netflix I got into Doctor Who and The Office. I’m still not caught up yet.

      5. Who do you watch TV with? Friends? Family?
Myself. Except my family watched Big Bang Theory and Dancing with the Stars together.

      6. Is there anything you’re not allowed to watch? Do you wish you could watch it or plan to when you’re older?
I’m 18 and about to leave for college, so I can watch what I want. This only happened though once I turned eighteen. I do not like really inappropriate shows though so I don’t watch anything too obscene.

      7. If you love TV, what do you love about it? If you’re not into it, what about it doesn’t appeal to you?
I like good story lines that keep you wanting more.

Shows like Jersey Shore. They just do not teach anyone good morals, and they condone bad behavior.

      9. Do you think TV has the ability to teach us? Especially for people who don’t go to movies much, can watching certain shows open our minds to things we otherwise wouldn’t know about?
I do think so. Especially shows on educational channels. I always find watching documentaries about people who live challenging or extraordinary lives really inspired me.

      5. Who do you watch TV with? Friends? Family? I watch TV with my family.

      6. Is there anything you’re not allowed to watch? Do you wish you could watch it or plan to when you’re older? Obviously, there are some things on TV most people shouldn’t be watching. Its the usual stuff: sexually based, anything with swearing, etc. I don’t have any interest in that sort of thing.

      7. If you love TV, what do you love about it? If you’re not into it, what about it doesn’t appeal to you? I love TV because the shows relate to my everyday life.

      8. Are there any shows you really don’t like? Why? I am a neutral person when it comes to TV, so there aren’t really any shows I can’t stand.
