  10. HurricaneMurphGirl

Posted by HurricaneMurphGirl on February 16, 2013 at 11:53

    1. Well, we do a lot of different stuff together. We’ve always enjoyed eating dinner together every evening, and lately we’ve loved going to the new science museum.

    2. Do you have designated “family” time? How often? Yes. Every evening we eat dinner together. It’s a lot of fun because it’s the chance we have to talk about our day, what happened, and what we would like to do. It’s always filled with lots of laughter, and after a stressful day, it’s really nice.

    3. Are there rules in your house about eating meals together or helping cook them? Yes. My sister and I each clean either the table or the floor after we’re done eating, and most of us end up helping with dinner in some way as well. We also read the Bible together every evening, and do a devotional.

    4. Do you have fun activities you do with just your mom? Your dad? Another family member you’re close to? Every first Friday, me, my dad, and my sister go to this thing called ‘English Country Dancing’ where we learn different dances like they would have done in Pride and Prejudice. My mom and I don’t really get to go ‘do’ anything special, but we get to spend time together in other ways by taking walks, driving in the car, etc.

    5. Do you have siblings? If so, do you spend special time with them? Doing what? Yes, I do. I have four siblings, and we spend sometimes way too much time together. My two not-quite-youngest siblings are six and eight, so they still require babysitting, and because I’m homeschooled, I have a lot of time for that… My older sibling is two and a half years older than me, but we still really enjoy hanging out. Recently we’ve begun going on walks every Friday.

    6. What kind of family vacations do you take and how often? Um, money is pretty tihgt for us, so we don’t take vacations very often. We sometimes go to our Grandma;s, who lives about an hour and a half to two hours away and we stay for the weekend, but I don’t really consider that a vacation. Our last vacation was two years ago to Tennessee for our family reunion.

    7. Is there something you wish your family did together more often? Not really. We spend a LOT of time together, and I enjoy having a little personal time.

    8. How do you and your siblings bring your different personalities to the family in order to come up with fun things to do? Um, yeah, I don’t think you can really comprehend just how WEIRD our family is. We’re all so different, and yet we have SO much fun. We laugh a ton, and we’re pretty noisy and boisterous at dinner, and we all bring something to the mix. It’s amazing, and I wouldn’t change it for the world.

    9. What do you think you’ll miss most about living with your family once you eventually move away? I think probably our dinner time and my dad reading the Bible and a story every evening. Those are things that we have ALWAYS done together, and it’s such a blessing.

    10. What is your favorite memory that includes your family? I have so many, I couldn’t pick just one. I have great memories of dinners, of family road trips, and lots of other stuff.
